Hey Guys/Girls,
I was recently trying to update my atrix to Gingerbread which resulted in me bricking my atrix, I have tried to flash a stock sbf to it but it seems to keep getting an error stating "Chipset 53 not supported".
Could anyone help me try and revive my device?
Also whenever I try to flash it I get another error I will post a screen shot of it underneath.
Thanks in Advance
Seems to me you are trying to flash the wrong sbf. Btw, if you haven't seen the stickies, you may want to avoid the official gb Sbf and use the fruitcakes or other remade roms so that you don't have a potentially hard brickable device.
+1 That's the wrong file.

Did you try flashing the unlock sbf first with RSD Lite?
It's painful how unhelpful people are around here.
Did you already update to 2.3.4 over the Motorola servers? I thought I remember people saying that you're unable to unlock the bootloader on the final release build of GB :<

Ummm I believe that I have provided helpful and informative information. Why recreate someone else guide's when it works and is already posted?

You can still unlock, you will just have a soft brick that will fix when you issue the unlock commands. You just have to make sure that you use the fruitcakes through CWM if you need to go to an earlier build or else you will hard brick.
Here, since you're in such a rush, take a look at this:

Sure you can ! and its very easy there are 2 ways to do this , via full sbf flash and with the nopudding4u.sbf , heres the link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1393519 scroll down until you see the Root/Unlock/Relock Method and Files section ( thanks to user Lokifish for making it easy to find )

Thanks for this! Sorry, I just came back to check haha. However, I'm currently running the 2.3.5 version and as it mentions, that version cannot be unlocked. Do you know if I am able to downgrade with the previously released SBFs?
Please use search as there are a ton of threads about this.
In answer to your question. No. you cannot downgrade. You can root and use Live ROM or "MOF 2.3.5.ish {locked}" and I think there may be one other locked rom.

Unlock/relock does not work on any AOSP/CM/MIUI ROM.
malware
All my systems flag that ezdownloader as malware. Is there a mirror?

Well, just follow the exact instructions the developers give when you flash something And always make a Nandroid back up first.
Furthermore: check for which phone models the roms etc. are (I9100 or anything else you have), to avoid flashing something bad.
If you're afraid for the eMMC brickbug: read the threads that are made for it for info about that.
Sent from the Matrix
The emmc brick bug only happens on stock kernel when wipe data is selected just flash any other kernel before doing anything else and then your safe. Don't flash a ROM for any other phone including the i9100G double check before flash the file name is usually .............i9100
Honestly ? Don't flash anything in the first place. Leave your phone stock & enjoy using it.
If the thought of breaking it frightens you, leave it alone.
Nandriod backup can't save you from hard brick. RTFM (or thread) is the only safe path if you can't stop the hacking itch, and don't be a hero to be the first one to try something new like leaked ROM. Good luck.

Well, then use the other advices that are given to you
But there's always a risk, so in fact it's a matter of minimizing them. If you want be totally risk free, then you indeed have to leave it stock.

I have rooted my phone with fake recovery, i want to install a speedmod kernel. I have stock recovery. Is it needed to install manually cwm first?? @Hardcore is writing that cwm is included, but im not sure that its written into this kernel or i need to download the cwm too, but where? There is no link in the topic So all i need to flash the kernel through the stock recovery and i'll got cwm and speedmod and done or download cwm from somewhere first and flash kernel through the cwm?
Here is the topic:

Anyone can help me?
ok done, help not needed
Need to get my mom's phone rooted.
I follwoed the instructions in one of the threads that didn't have a disclaimer that it was gingerbread only and tried to odin a gingerbread root kernel onto an ICS stock rom.
I have since mistakenly tried to odin a CWM recovery, and odin d_ag's overclock kernel. None of this worked, can someone help?
(I now get stuck at the samsung boot screen.)
Use odin to flash the correct rooted ICS kernel.
Would the kernel on this page work?

no thats not an ics kernel if you can't follow the simple instructions of how to do this on the sticky thread and even worse can't find an ics kernel after help is given maybe you should leave your phone alone or theres a good chance we are going to see you open up a help I bricked thread. Just sayin

I DID follow the instructions found in the thread. However, there was no warning the method only worked gingerbread. I've been looking through the Android Development page for root4.0 kernel, and I don't see any as they are all either 4.1 or 4.2.
I appreciate the concern though.
If you could point me in the direction or a thread in which I can find a rooted ICS kernel, that would be great.

Maybe I really am a huge idiot but...I can't find an ICS root Kernel in there. Every time I find a link the download is busted.
Update:
I managed to fix it.
Im in need of the stock sprint 4.5.1A-1_SUN-254_13 firmware that I can flash using RSDlite.
Yes I have searched for it.
No I havent found anything I can use.
Yes, I will be extremely grateful and hit the thanks button if you help me.
No, I will not read your reply telling me I don't need it/shouldn't use it, cant unlock or root, that it sucks, or telling me I should search for it.
I need it...I know I need it...I would really appreciate the help of someone who is better at this than me. Thank you.

thank you for the reply. Unfortunately no. i think i saw this one earlier. Maybe Im doing it wrong but i think i need an SBF file to use RSDlite. I didnt see one in here, and when i tried to let RSD unzip and flash it it failed. That may be a little beyond my expertise, I know just enough to be dangerous. Although, if i can unzip and flash the boot, system, recovery...etc files through fastboot and adb this may work. ive done that on other phones. Thanks again.
That file is for flashing in recovery.
Check the stickies to find sbf.
But there's no sprint 254 only one for the electrify.
Also,
RSD will gives you an error at the end, pull battery out replace boot up.
Good luck.
