Help me finding the compatible kernel

Hi guyz! I'm a begginer in this domain so please tell me more detaliled. I've searched in previous topic this problem and couldn't found it.
I'll start by showing you the detailes about my rooted galaxy ace so maybe you could help me more :
What I do want to know :
1) Before installing cyanogenmod, I had Android version 2.3.6. Now I have 2.3.7. Is that right?
2) Which version of cyanogenmod do I have? 7.x ? And which version of CGM is better for my current phone status
3) I need a recent compatible kernel version. I searched here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1439516 and took the [CF-Root-S5830 3.7] CF-Root adaptation for Gingerbread. Din't worked. Made my start screen black, and stayed for a while. Because after installing kernel, I want to experience some TWEAKS-SCRIPTS,MODS, and those requier kernel . Please post a link and a some tutorial for installing the kernel
BTW : After installing this CGM, I meet the next error : while having a conversation, the phone intrerupted it. Why that?
1- yes, that is right. cm 7 is based on gingerbread 2.3.7 so it should show 2.3.7 after all.
2- dont know. u dont specify which version u download, and from which thread. were not mindreaders
3- theres many other compatible kernel with cm 7 other than ketut's kernel. search in dev subforum.
btw your post color hurts my eyes

Wifi not turning on with sirkay AOKP kernel

Hello, i flashed FXP cm9, flashed xKernel AOKP v3.1. And wifi wont turn on. Any ideas to fix it?
Flash embed kernel, not sirkays... AOKP means Android Open KANG Project.. no FXP, CM.... Next time post on Q&A Section..
Please post in the kernel's thread or in the Q&A thread stuck at the top of this forum. Thank you.

Noob question: Which kernels are compatible with CM9.1 (FXP142)?

Is there a matrix of compatible baseband/kernel/ROM configurations? I tried using sirkay's boot_9.587c - ICS - xKernel v9.587-C, flykernel0_6, and flykernel0_8, but they all caused reboot cycle (bootloop) with CM9.1 FXP 142.
I had to extract boot.img out of the FXP zip file and flash that kernel to successfully load up CM 9.1. Incidentally that kernel version is 2.6.32.9-FXP. FWIW, I was upgrading from CM7.2 RC1, updated baseband from D-64 to G-77 before flashing kernel and then CM 9.1.
Ideally I want to use the fastest kernel out there compatible with CM9.1, and one with Linaro would be ideal. Any suggestions?
Am I missing something, there's a whole topic specifically for questions ... [HELP] Q&A Thread - MUST POST ALL QUESTIONS HERE [ 1 2 3 ... Last ]
...I'm new here but it seems some people either can't read or just cba.
Yes there is Q&A thread!
Anyway for CM based ROMs you have to use CM kernel otherwise you got bootloop... i've heard AOSP/AOKP is compatible but i never tried it myself

[Q] which kernel to use with ressurection remix AOKP build 4.2.1?

hi friends, why doesnt the [ROM] posters add a "Supported kernels list" link to their page? How to know if the kernel is supported?? which kernel can i use with Ressurection Remix v3.1.4 ??
everything is running stable, but i cannot use Stweaks, and cannot overclock.
can i use Siyah kernel? it says it doesnt support 4.2.x ... which kernel supports this?? what am i missing .. i searched the threads and forums but was unable to find RELEVENT info..
it almost seems like no one is using RR
I try very hard not to create a thread, but search did nt help.. what keywords would you use to get the answers? can anybody also help me get a general idea?
these are "similar" threads.. still not the same though.. coz im not asking for battery life or anything. just a list of compatible kernels. is there no such list??!

Aokp
Frankly Speaking Dont Use The Rom
It was Good when it was new
But now its Outdated
And hasnt been updated For about 2-3 months
Better Use this AOKP
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2178228
Its official and Good
And you can use stock kernal(the one which comes preinstalled)
or
Tamasek's Kernal
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1797109
I Would suggest you to use stock kernal as it is finely tuned for the rom
custom kernal sometimes damage the rom
Dont Forget to press Thanks
why doesnt the [ROM] posters add a "Supported kernels list" link to their page
That would mean testing every kernel and every continual kernel update .
Devs build rom either with a kernel or choice of kernels .
Want another kernel then users are expected to bother to read the faqs guides and how to first . A bit of knowledge gives the user enough to read a kernels description and decide for themselves . Or even ask in the rom or kernel thread .
