I'm having the same issue. At time I pick up the tab, unlock the screen and notice the clock is usually a few hours behind the actual time. I've had to reset the time 4 times in the past 48 hours (I've only owned it that long)

Same problem here. Just noticed it today. My digital Touchwiz clock is 5 hours behind my system clock. I'm running stock Touchwiz.
Anybody know a fix for this?

The first time I noticed it, mine too was 5 hours behind...the last three times or so it was an hour or so behind. But it's always in hour increments. The minutes are never off, just the hours. Doesn't matter if I set it in standard or military time.
ETA just had to reset the time again. One hour slow this time.

Seems like a problem with the touchwiz widget clock, it works fine for a few hours then only updates the time when you rotate the tablet portait then back to landscape.

[Q] Random Restarts on my X10

I was sitting at my work desk and my phone restarted itself out of nowhere. No updating was done, I was at 55% battery and it wasn't even touched. I was at my desk for about 30 minutes straight, it's laying face up and I saw the phone restart.
Today, it has done this 3-4 times within about 90 minutes. And it's also eating a ton of battery up right now.
I'm rooted, but I've had no issues for weeks and I've searched and found other X10's and EVO's have had this issue.
Any clue what is going on?
I got the same problem. after flash by using Nordic it look better but not good enough. Is that unreasonable

Its a lack of ram issue if I read it correctly...
Do you use Desktop Visualizer by any chance? This app caused the exact same problem at my phone when adding to much widgets on my homescreen. By deleting this app from my phone I never have this issue again.
If not Desktop Visualizer there might be another application which is constantly makes your phone reboot? did you install anything new lately what can cause this by using an enormous amount of ram?
Absolutely not. I got the problem after updated to 2.1 and I didn't install any application. However, the problem just on android 2.1, I tried to downgrade to 1.6 and it work perfectly. My phone from Rogers Canada

Battery life?

So I have tried different ROMS (from all the different Vegan to a bunch of different HC) and none of them can last a whole day. I have to charge the damn thing every day. Even if I put it to sleep, the thing doesn't last a day.
My iPad can stay asleep forever without dying, why cant this thing?

I don't think the tablets actually go to sleep per say. The cpu/ram is still running at full capacity. Only thing that changes is the screen backlight turns off. Unfortunately the only way I've figured out how to reverse this is by completely shutting off the device. Which in my opinion defeats the purpose of carrying around the tablet versus a laptop.
Is this for all Android tablets or just the Gtab?
I have tried several ROMs and the one that did the best battery wise (also the one I settled on) was G-Harmony Gingerbread ROM. The "sleep" drian was about 1.3% per hour.
To reach that, I had to remove phone.apk (See "Battery Life" post in the general forum).

I believe this is in general with all Android tablets atm. Until Android 4.0 I believe addresses the issue.

I can play music at work all day long and play on the tablet until bed time. I can go almost two days like this. I am using this kush 2.3.4 rom. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1119888
I also switched to the vt launcher . The only problem I had was the music player locked up once. So I just removed it and installed a different music player. I have tried many 1.1 boot loader roms and I keep going back to this one. Hope this helps you.

To me the different is the weight and boot time. My gtab running CM7 boots in a little more then 30 seconds

Note just crashed...hard

I've had my note for almost two weeks now. This afternoon, I was using it as I always do, mostly mail, some web stuff and music - thus no extended gaming, etc to overheat the GPU.
I put it in my pocket, removed it several minutes later and it was completely dead - and I couldn't even turn it back on. It wasn't banged around or anything, and there was at least 50% charge in the battery. I opened the back, removed and replaced the battery. Still nothing. I tried again about 20 minutes later, and it powered up as normal. And it has been since.
Is this weirdness that happens occasionally to current gen android phones? Anyone else have similar issues? Should I try to exchange it?

thats odd. is it stock? if not, you should list everything you did to the phone. If you had it overclocked, maybe it overheated and shut down so as not to fry the chips?
Yeah, all's still stock. I've not even rooted yet.
Same thing happened to me with a skyrocket that I had. Except I did have it rooted running sky ics rom. And I had it plugged into the charger. So...maybe not quite the same thing...sorry. lol
I just went to the store and swapped it out for a new one. No questions asked within 30 days.

Just happend to me, after testing out the mhl adapter at my parents place i restarted the phone. Then once all was booted up i put it to sleep to make the drive home only 15 min away i did notice the the phone was hot in my pocket but screen wasnt on. Pulled out my phone and it didnt turn on. I pluged in the the usb and it powered up normal.
Well its a new toy, they will have bugs and they will fix them. So far so good. I did get the juice defender app, seams to be.working.out.great went all day and still had 75% power when I got home.

My phone does get warm from time to time (on the back right below the camera lens), though I didn't notice it before the crash. Is this heat normal?
Only thing i did have is a random reboot once...thats about it.
Galaxy Note
My only odd experience is after unplayable Asphalt 6HD for a little while, and phone does get warm. After I close the game I get nothing. Blank screen and take a few minutes to come back to life and when it does it as if it went through a soft reboot.

UPDATE - problem has not gone away. It seems to be (at least partially) related to a malformed battery contact. Exchanging for a new one tomorrow.
I'm a light user throughout the day. Charged my phone to 100% before I left for work today. On my way home, I used my phone a lot. I visited websites that had a lot of content. I was pinching and zooming and the phone crashed/restarted on me. Same thing happen 10 minutes later. I was using the phone for about 20 minutes non stop prior to this to happening. The phone was in the upper 50s (56%-59%). The phone was getting noticeably warm on the back cover, but not to point where it was burning hot.
This doesn't happen to me during my lunch when I use the phone non-stop for a full hour. My phone is stock, not rooted. Had for about 1 1/2 week now.

Sudden major battery drain

My wife's Rezound (.605, ClearnROM 4.5) has been stable for weeks and weeks. Then, in the last 72 hours or so, it suddenly started ripping through its battery in minutes -- fully charged to dead in 90-180 minutes, even if the phone is just sitting on a desk, untouched, screen off. There doesn't appear to be anything running in the background to account for the drain (no Facebook or anything like that).
Any ideas? Really don't want to have to return it to stock, exchange it with VZW as defective, go through setting up a new one.
Thanks in advance...
a silly question but have you tried to over clock or under volt it recently?

best thing to do is go into settings and see what has been using the phone. Go into apps, too and see what has been running.. Finally, an app like better battery stats can really help you see what is killing it.
Often in cases like yours, its a recently updated app that is keeping the phone awake for some reason.

No to overclocking or undervolting. Haven't really had the need to do either since moving off our Droid Xs some months ago. But that was a good thought.
The screen appears to be what's killing the phone. For some reason, it keeps setting itself for Sleep/Never, meaning the screen is on all the time. The last time spent changing that setting seems to be working. Not sure why it keeps toggling back to that setting. May have to reset the phone, reload a ROM and see if a fresh start makes a difference...

Are people using the "Clock Always On" Feature?

I've had my gear S for 3 weeks now and really enjoy the device. I'm a everyday watch guy, so my biggest gripe about the gear s when it came in was the screen going black. I hated the motion activation or pressing the screen/button to wake up the device. I found that under settings-style-clock there is a clock always on setting. Once I turned this on, and turned off motion wakeup, very happy with being able to see time at an glance.
So this brings me to my question, why only do the first couple included watch faces have a nice analog always on black and white faces, every other one I've tried is just a simple, boring, and small digital time? Do people not use this feature, can you create this black and white always on face in watch styler and other watch face creation tools? Anyone know if a downloadable watchface in the gear store that has a nice always on black and white face?
New to the tizen camp and have been reading for days on the forums, having come across anything that addresses what I'm looking for. Thanks for reading
I purchased something called big watch and arranged for the screen to have an always on future. Battery life was nominal but you can also use the minimal watch face black and white. There's also some very light colored white dot matrix clocks as well. Just look through the Samsung store and you will find something.
Biggest problem with Clock Always On is the fact that the screen will be responsive to touch all the time. That results in random operation by the gear. The other day i was wearing long sleeves and ended up calling 2 people randomly.
Try it yourself, put it on always on and touch the screen, device will wake up, and you can end up calling people or any other random operation. Definitely not great.
hmm, I'm 3 weeks into always on mode, and yes the screen does respond to touch. Yet I havent had any real issues with unit being activated by my sleeves. I've been wearing a jacket everyday since owning the unit. Without Always ON Clock, I would not have kept the watch. I'm just disappointing with the the always on options from other watch faces.... looks like I'm sticking with stock faces for now.
I will try again and see if my sleeves will operate the watch on their own. Maybe that day my sleeves were full of static or something. It just freaked me out immensely because it ended up calling a business contact at a very late hour.
However, my second biggest problem with always on (even with the fancy samsung analog dials) is that you don't see anything except time. No pedometer, no notifications, no weather, nothing but time. You would still need to tap the screen to get any of that information. Even with the motion gesture you don't get to see anything more than time until you click, even though it gives the impression that the whole dial is lit up (this part is especially annoying).

I've been using clock always on for the last two weeks and have had no issue with my sleeves waking the device accidentally. as the above poster alluded to, it really does make it a better experience.

And this brings me back to, are there any other watch faces that have a analog style, always on face? Even the low power faces on gear store, when you go to the always on clock face, its a crappy little digital clock... frustrating. If you make a watchface in watch styler, can you dictate what the always on clock face is??
I suppose that I will have to try the time on option and see if there are any accidental operations performed.
What is battery life with clock always on? Right now I get two days.

(1) The more time you spend with the watch's cellular radio on while not being connected to your phone via bluetooth, the less battery life.
(2) The more you stream music via the watch, the less battery life.
(3) The weaker cellular zone you live in (or pass through), the more battery drain. If cellular is on and your device has a weak connection or is searching for connection, the more battery drain.
(4) What network is your watch on? What network is your phone on? How good is your signal where you live? What phone are you using with the device? Is it running stock 4.3 or higher? Is it running a ROM?
I usually get 1.5 days with the always on clock. Typically 30-50% battery left when I charge at night with moderate to heavy use throughout day. I'm connected via BT to my phone 99% of the time.
WE REALLY NEED TO KNOW HOW TO MAKE/CHANGE SOME ALWAYS ON CLOCK FACES, ESPECIALLY IN WATCH STYLER!!!!!

I do not have any motions turned on. WiFi off. Only remote connect for an hour run and when I have to at the barn. I don't get a ton of emails.
At first it i didn't get 2 days. After several cycles the battery broke in and getting 2 days just sort of happened.

I suspect that it's something more complex than Watch Styler is likely to support, at least in the near future.
I was having a quick look round online the other day and even on a Tizen Developers forum, nobody seems to know how to make use of the 'Always On' feature.
I am a watchface developer and Iam trying to figure out how to make watchfaces like the first 2 native watchfaces.
I could not find the info yet.
If anyone has any idea, please share here...

According to my test it's about 13% of battery more consumed during 10h so it's not that bad I think...

Also try turning off the location setting on your gear S when you don't need to use it. Should help the battery last longer.
I'm using the motion to wake feature.
