Hi,
I'm running the STAR WARS ROM version 2.7C I have noticed that I get no vibrating alerts for SMS messages, calls vibrate fine.
I have had this problem since using this ROM so wondered if there was a fix or if anyone else was experiencing the issue. I have set the phone to always vibrate but that makes no difference.

Go to your messaging app & check under notifications if the vibration box is unticked.

Wierd bug here. My phone is set to always vibrate and it does so for incoming calls however for sms I get the sound but no vibration. I've noticed there is no vibrate option in the messaging settings either :| Anyone got any ideas on fixing this?

Are you using the stock messaging app? What rom and phone are you using?

Yes, stock messaging app on SGS2 (as the forum states). I'm on stock KE2 and rooted via chainfire's rooting method then reflashed stock kernel.
Have you turned on always vibrate from within the messaging app? Go to all threads in the app, press menu, then settings, scroll down to notification settings, then press the option that says "Vibration" and make sure the option for always vibrate is selected.

I would but the setting isn't even there which is what surprised me most!
EDIT: I found an app to let me enable that vibration and it works now but it should be there as an option by default!!! WTF SAMSUNG!

Damn that's crazy, hahaha. Samsung is probably gonna be my next phone too (if the specs on the hercules are to be believed)

upd: found "vibrate tools" app
Its called MineVibrationSetting and you just need to download it from the market and tick the box inside to enable.

Hey guys, for the past 5 or 6 cm builds I have flashed I never get the notification that I have received text messages. Notifications are on through the messaging app, I've even turned sync on. The only way I recieve my messages is if I click on the messaging app which is a pain, because somedays I forget to click it and I see messages from early in the morning. Is anyone else having this problem or does one know of a solution? Thanks

Hey guys. I'm using CRe.Active Rom CM 7.1 based. When I receive a message, my phone wont vibrate and most importantly the screen wont light up. However my notification rings. Any ideas? I'm pretty sure it has something to so with the cm settings.

where do i go to change the SMS sound? I went to the notification sound and change it but it didn't happen. The SMS sound is set on "whistle" right now.
I know for most Android phones, SMS sound comes from notification sound. Since that did not work for you, what kind of application are you using? Are you using WhatsApp?

Im not using any app at all. I'm on stock rom. When I change sound on the Notification ringtone it work when i get emails or other app notification. The SMS sound is set on "whistle"
If stock open the message app and go into its settings to change the notification sound. It should work and yes the whistle is annoying

Thank you. I was able to change the sms notification sound.
I am getting voice alerts for emails and phone calls. I will tell me I have 1 email when it arrives, and also it just recently began telling me who is calling me when the phone rings. I did not change any settings, and I have looked everywhere to figure out where these alerts are controlled. Can anyone help?
Turn off the driving mode toggle in the notifications pull-down
