Does anyone know where i can find the stock HTC Flyer Wifi only GB RUU? I was planning on doing a little modding but i want to be able to roll back just in case.
Any help, greatly appreciated.
Nevermind.. Found a great list here

How do I know which one to use?
...I mean other than looking at the obvious, i.e. Asia, Sprint, etc....
I have a 16GB Flyer Wifi from Best Buy.
Original ROM 1.36.1540.32
Thanks!
Tried posting this in Football's thread, but I think it's locked...

Safe to assume there's no luck on this yet? I really need the US Best Buy 16G WiFi only RUU. The RUUs I've run can't be updated to 2.3.4 (seem to all be UK versions?), and in order to GTalk video chat with my daughter who lives 2,000 miles away from me I REALLY need 2.3.4. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

For GTalk video on the Flyer running stock 2.3.3, install Vtok from the Market. Works perfectly as a temporary solution while waiting for 2.3.4 or Honeycomb.

Unfortunately not. You'd think of all the RUUs, the 16GB US Wifi-only one would be available for flashing.
Correct RUU bewilderment
Hi good people,
I am in the final stages of preparing for Globatron's easy HC upgrade, and I know if I want to go back to S-On and downgrade to GB, I'll need the correct RUU...
I have trawled through threads to try to find the correct RUU for my Flyer (details below). Please could someone put me out of my misery? I tried to identify it using http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=18508220&postcount=2 to see which is the best for me, and found my cid (as below) therefore my RUU should be RUU_Flyer_HTC_WWE_X.XX.405.X shouldn't it? But there's more than one like that in the list on http://www.filefactory.com/f/dd1c2aacb4e9d3c9/
Any pointers greatly appreciated, especially if you can figure out why I'm confused...

Thanks, that's a different radio to my version yes? but I won't need the radio to downgrade... Have I got that right?
[Edit] no it's the same radio, i'm just being unobservant. sorry.
It has 2.27.1114.31 rather than mine which is 2.27.1114.32, what does that difference mean? (does it matter?)
Also the link in filefactory unfortunately is refusing to let me in. Will it work eventually or must I search elsewhere?
The version won't make any difference if you upgrade to honeycomb, I explicitly set the version number to a very low value in the HC upgrade so that any RUU for the correct device will work.
Yeah filefactory seems to be hanging when you try to download right now, it should come back later.
thanks
No access to forum page where RUU list is, also FF files gone

Also, File Factory ( at least these files) appears dead, no links work. Any help from Mods for access or working direct links would be greatly appreciated.

Anyone able to help as well? I have the same screen as the OP because I am using a HTC Flyer 3G from US Cellular.
I don't understand the post about it being a View... they advertise it as a Flyer and the box says Flyer. Trying to put something decent on this tablet because it is very slow and outdated. I would like to put a custom ROM on it at some point if anything decent is available. At the least I would like root so I can use Titanium Backup and Sixaxis controls to play some games on it.
When I got it, it came with the software that is on it. I couldn't find a RUU that is stock Gingerbread that has the correct HBoot for Revolutionary S-OFF.
Please someone point me in the right direction!

Hi I hope you sorted this by now.
Don't worry about the packaging saying it is a Flyer. It is not. The "EXPRESS" model identifier means it is a View as Globatron has pointed out.
So you need to follow procedures for that.
The easiest way to tell if its a view is if its grey/black. Flyer is white. Im sure the casing is probably interchangeable but since it came from a carrier..
Does anybody have found the ability to get S-OFF, ROOT for these devices ?
thnx
For the flyer? You have only look for Downgrading like this here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1428104

Hello!
I think I'm close to bricking my HTC Flyer Wifi 16GB and could use som help from the bright minds of XDA.
What I'm trying to do is to revert back from DexterJB to stock GB/HC and going S-On again since the tablet is beeing sent in for service (bad screen). However, when downgrading something went wrong and now i only have access to the bootloader (volume - and Power).
How did I get here?
As I said, I was trying to downgrade from DexterJB, following this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1346200
I got to step 11 where an error told me the device ID was wrong and the update process was aborted. Now the tablet only reaches the HTC white bootscreen and stops.
My cidnum is: HTC__Y13 so the RUU i was using should have worked: RUU_Flyer_HC_S_HTC_WWE_3.55.405.1_Radio_20.4801.30.0822U_3822.10.08.07_M_release_226690_signed
I also tried these RUUs:
RUU_Flyer_HTC_WWE_1.36.405.5_R_Radio_20.35.30.089BU_3809.05.0401.04_M_release_189803_signed

All of them just hits me with the error: 130 wrong model ID.
What can i do to fix this? Willing to donate a beer to the one who can help me out with this since i need it fixed ASAP.

I think Europe is all WWE version, so that you were right about. But for WiFi only, the RUU says "WiFi" in the file name. So I think that is why the RUUs your tried resulted in version error. At least that seems to be the case for RUUs listed here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1062184

The method in your OP seems to be the way to go. Downgrading the hboot should get you S-On. Running the stock RUU will get you back to stock recovery. I think its just a matter of finding the right RUU for your version.

Thank you! My OG was rooted using UNREVOKED and I believe that gave me S-OFF and threw a custom recovery on--possibly, it's been a while but I remember that it was very easy and there were literally hundreds of combinations of kernels, radios and ROM you could flash. That unit was truly customizable. I'm not sure why I moved on to the LTE. Oh well, it is nice and is fast, maybe that's why. I'll start with your sig and go from there. I just needed some to show me the gate.

Not sure if you're still looking for advice but if so, via htcevohacks.com and download the EVO4GLTERoot2 zip. Follow their instructions on how to root. Simple and easy to follow. As far as S-off goes, try facepalm (look for it here on XDA) but being that you are on the most recent firmware, you may have to use dirty racun like I did. A bit complicated but it works nonetheless. Find dirty racun at unlimited.io

I understand this phone is old and these forums half dead, but any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance !
I would recommend to S-OFF the phone first via this: http://revolutionary.io/
I think you first have to OTA up to hboot 1.02 so this can work, but I'm not sure... maybe it works with the old hboot as well. Just try out. When you have S-OFF, just flash a recovery via fastboot and flash SuperSU via recovery and you are done. Good luck!

For recovery, use this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1446778
I had an old Aria with CM7 on it, HBoot 0.57 and S-ON. Ran through a bunch of things before getting it to work...overall, the "right" way is quite simple...
I used the official AT&T 2.2 Update package to get Hboot updated to one that revolutionary would be able to root, then revolutionary ran without a hitch.
Once HBoot is at 1.02 and S-OFF, you're pretty much free to install any recovery or ROM as needed - I am giving 4.4 a shot.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2737497
i managed to get hboot 1.02 and then s-off with revolutionary. Gonna give the last part a try during the weekend, gonna post results then, thx for the help so far!
