I find that the accelerometer on my dx2 (running eclipse) is rather slow.
What i mean by this is when i tilt my phone it takes a good 2 seconds before it actually rotates.
Is there anything i can do about this?
Are you using all animations? I've found that disabling them makes the accelerometer react much more quickly.

Thanks for this tip. I couldn't for the.life of me figure out why it was taking so much longer for my screen to rotate. Didn't realize this is what did it. Thanks again!
Weird Mine Is Instant With All Animations On.

I've tried several torch apps and I am currently using the tiny flashlight with the widget. On the incredible all of the torch apps worked well and the widgets worked instantaneously. On my X2 I've had several of the apps cause reboots and while the tiny flashlight widget works it takes about 5 seconds to kick in. Any recommendatins on apps or settings would be much appreciated. I'm rooted, supercharged, and I've frozen the bloat. I had theses issues before root and on every x2 I've used (7 of them).
Tiny flashlight has been updated to address the X2 problems. Thanks to member juhde for letting us know about the update. I can finally rest easy again.

That was my first choice and I had issues with it before I went looking for a new one. I actually haven't tried since I did all of the recent tweaks. Does it work without any lag on your x2?
tesla locked up upon first use & quit responding, but now works, but lags like the other I tried
I just open the Camcorder app and turn the light to on. It works flawlessly.

Yeah, that works, but its not very convenient or fast. I live in the sticks and its pitch black at night out here. Its nice being able to unlock and hit a button to get a light quickly when you here something crashing through the woods. Prob just have to wait for ginger or cm7 to fix the problem.

It's not really a widget, but since the light comes on right away, its the quickest light I've seen so far. I'll stick with this one till ginger comes out thanks.
Nexus torch. Great app that also has a widget for one click flash on your home screen.

No luck. Runs about the same as the rest. Doesn't see my root for the high brightness either. Wonder what's up with that. Sticking with the Motorola one for now.

Well I don't even use the camcorder, so I just keep the light setting to on all the time. Then I keep the shortcut on my main homescreen, so all I gotta do is click it, and bam, glorious light. (I also live in the sticks..)
Tiny flashlight just had a update specifically addressing the x2 problems. Works a treat now.

hmm, still a bit slow for me, I like that Tesla has a toggle switch widget, much more convenient.
ok, I installed the TeslaLED Beta
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1133393
and its the best one yet, much snappier than the alpha release or tiny flashlight
plus a toggle switch!
Not to shabby.

Works about the same as Tiny Flashlight, but its got a strobe and better options. Im going with this one now thanks.
Noticed today that Dolphin Browser, which used to rotate when I rotated my phone, no longer does this. Running ADW LauncherEx and normally have that option turned off for the home screen. But to try it out, I turned the "Home Orientation" option to "Auto/sensor". It will not rotate either.
Not sure what to check or try out, so if anyone has any tips/advice, I'd be greatly appreciative.
Rooted 2.3.4 (from the SBF released recently).

Did u check ur phones display setting? There is one for auto rotate
Also do u have pulldown notification toggles? There is a toggle for screen rotation on that also. Make sure it is lit up.
Did u check through dolphins setting also?
U running a rom? If yes which one?
*smack forehead*
Yes, there is a setting for "Auto-rotate screen". And yes, it was not selected. Strange, don't recall setting that to off though..
But, thanks, it works now.

Was probably drunk... You will ever look all over for a setting can't find it, on to eventually find out you had looked at it and passed it over several times?

Hello
I am wondering if there is an app to disable capacitive light buttons? I am rooted 2.3.6 stock. Pretty annoying when watching a movie at night and they are still on.

will try that program...thanks.

Update: seems to work until you touch the screen/buttons. Touching the screen or buttons activates the backlight.
Thanks.
Try screen filter. I use it for night mode but it will kill the lights too

Turned off all animations in dev options and now Knock On works Flawlessly every Time!

Also phone is super snappy and faster.

Nope, Stock rooted. I don't need a rom. None are very stable anyways.
funny.. i dont have such problem ..I can knock on with 2 taps without problem... and I love to see the transition animation when we rotate the phone or open and close any apps.
I'm not really sure it's the transitions, animations.
But kk is much better than jb (knock on..)
Things that would matter are sensors. Proxmity sensor for example, maybe light.

We already have an option for this. Go to settings -> Gestures -> and disable Screen on/off (first option)
Are you sure it is faster? Or is it just that the animation scale is turned off and so it looks faster. Scale Off = no animations at all.
Also, it made no difference to how much my knock on worked. It was just as unreliable after as before.

Maybe I am missing something here...
If you turn off animations, then when you do stuff that animates, it won't. Even turning the screen on and off is animated (it fades in/out over a few tenths of milliseconds).
So, yes, of course it looks snappier. But that is where the buck stops. Nothing is actually faster about the phone as far as running processes is concerned.
Unless I am missing something here and someone cares to explain. We should at least relegate this to Myth Confirmed or Myth Busted status.
Just for the fun on it, do this:
Window Animation: 10x
Transition Animation: 10x
Animator Duration scale: 10x
That is what it does and that is what it does not do when turned off.

It's no faster. It is just a placebo.
Also, doing this screws with the knock of on the status bar, as it will pop up the "Date & Time Settings" instead of turning the screen off (at least in KK)...

Doesn't seem to be an issue with 4.2.2. I think some people were missing the point of the post though, it wasn't so much about speed as making knock on work every time. Trying out now, so far so good.
