I was trying to flash shabbys kernel and I installed the CWM Bootstrap. It went well untill It came With a message saying "fail to boot 2 starting RSD mood". I was rooted stock with Bootloader lock. Any help please?

Flash the mr5 sbf.
Sent from my Motorola Photon 4g
Just for others info, I believe you need a full cwm with unlocked bootloader in order to be able to flash kernels.
Yes you do. The bootstrap will only work with the P-Rom's like Laser, once you unlock bootloader you do need the custom CWM. Which is what I ended up having to install. Works good though. :]
What is the best way to flash mr5? Is there a guide? Thanks In advance

Follow those steps......Then when RSD asks to manually power up the phone do a battery pull and when powering back up HOLD THE VOLUME DOWN KEY till it boots into recovery. Then scroll down with the volume down key to "boot Android (no BP)" hit the volume up key. Let it do its thing. You should be up and working again.
These are the steps I used last night to solve the EXACT SAME problem you have....My device is now working again I just have to reactivate it when I take the loaner phone back later.

Most of it is cuz us noobs want to try stupid **** to see what we can get away with. That is why I did what I did yesterday, I was about 95% sure it would cause a problem but I chose to do it anyway.
So I have a new problem after restoring my device. Now I can't install any new apps from the market.every time I get the message "can't install ____ due to insufficient space on phone" of am at work now but I an gonna try to figure this out tonight.
Every time i plugin my phone It rellano me that battery is too low to flash. How do i charge It? It turns on every time to the fail to boot message

My phone started the day by not booting after a reboot. It stops at rethink possible and the screen will stay on forever and do nothing. If I swipe the fingerprint I get a double vibe like it didn't accept the scan. The only thing I have done to the phone is rooting it.
I did notice one thing this morning. I took it out of the laptop dock and the icon for the dock stayed there even after I then put it in the car dock. I then rebooted it because it had frozen and never came back up. Help!
At me too, my atrix was freeze on loading screen "rethink possible". That I wanted to make all before, to reboot it.
I tried to pull out a battery but unsuccessfully, always freeze on boot screen.
Please help me, i really don't know what i need to do.
And i can't call to motorola support because I live in Russia.

You get to RSD by holding down the volume UP button while rebooting until it days RSD Protocol at the top of the screen.

Your advice is sound. Many such bootloops can also be eliminated with a "fastboot -w"
Not really sure what specific changes in /data (some .db setting somewhere prolly) can cause it to barf on boot but it happens a lot, especially when switching builds (froyo->GB, etc)
so i tried to flash the full rooted ruu rom via hboot, i had it sitting on my table with the batt door off and knocked it on the floor ( accident ofcourse ) and the batt came out halfway during the process so now it goes into the htc screen then blank htc screen then blank and i cant get into cwr so my question is can i salvage it or am i f**ked?
Have you tried hbooting to recovery? Volume up and power down when the phone boots up.
cant keep it in cwr long enough to do anything, keeps rebooting and when it does go into cwr it says something like cant mount cache i think

+1. That's exactly what would have worked. I know it's too late for the lad now, but for future users...
If you're ever stuck in a boot-loop and can't hboot into recovery, you'll need to copy and past the PGIMG05.ZIP file onto the root of your SD Card. This will be about a 200-400 meg file and would usually be a stock rooted RUU or stock signature RUU. After it's on the root of your SD, make sure it's the only PGIMG05.zip file on there! Then start the phone by holding down power + volume up. This will force the phone to hboot the PGIMG05 file which will get you past the boot-loop.
For some it's a good idea to have insurance too.
You can get a replacement minus the deductible if you "lose" your phone.
Just make certain you call VZW as soon as you lose it.
I don't suggest selling the phone for parts and saying it's lost, but I'm sure others have done this to cover their deductible.
Those without insurance...I have heard people have had great success with warranty replacement when using over the phone support when the phone doesn't boot or bootloops.
Since you send the phone back to VZW by mail, their replacement standards are much lower than dealing with their retail and face to face support.

I'm new to this, just rooted my thunderbolt the week before last (have rooted a total of 4 phones though since and created my own bootimage with sound and everything! lol!), and that's what came to mind when I read the original post but I didn't "know" for sure. Thanks for confirming it. This stuff is fascinating to me. I like to understand what is going on. I'd like to someday write my own rom. Droid X2, preinstalled with 2.3.3 The phone belongs to a dear friend, and I've screwed it up apparently. I finally got it rooted via Visionary this morning, remarkably easy once I took the time to actually read. Quick and painless flash of Eclipse 0.5, and then onto apps, mods and 'pretties'. Well the last thing I tried to do before turning it back over to its owner, I tried to change the font. Apparently this is where I went wrong. It's been a soft brick ever since. It will load the "M Dual Core" screen, and that is absolutely it. I can navigate into recovery but whatever Nandroid I had created isn't showing up there. Please tell me there's something I can do, I've tried SBFand whatever, but I'm sure I'm not doing it right. I'd be willing to sling a few bucks your way if you were able to help get remedied. Thanks in advance. We can do text chat, or voice. I'll be home from work around 9pm Central Time. Thanks so much.
If you created a nandroid, you might not be able to find it because Eclipse 5 swaps the sd cards. Try again and you may find it in the opposite directory.
If you ate trying to this thru stock recovery (holding buttons when booting) then you won't be able to restore from there. At this point our only option is BSR, the thing you used to flash eclipse. To get there, power the phone off and then plug it into a wall charger. If it loads, you can do a wipe or restore from there.
You might also be able to wipe data from stock recovery.

What worries me is that I have noticed that when I flash eclipse after a data wipe it seems as though I have to go use system recovery app and press install recovery first again before I can get BSR to show up again with off phone plugged in. Hope this isn't what happen to OP or else sbf is only option.
And if u r sbf make sure on ur phone u r using power and vol up to get where u need to be to sbf. And plug phone into computer AFTER opening rsdlite.

I think that visionary root app is what may have him in a bind at the moment... He definitely needs to post where he got it and what he read to lead him to believe it would work... His only option, IMHO, is to sbf and go from there....

LOL! What you want me to post the whole tutorial for the guy here??? But can you really blame me??? I have become a full believer in SBF'ing for any issue I run into tho...
If "system recovery" is installed and "recovery mode" has been set(if only once) then a "battery pull" and a "plugging in" of the charger will trigger BSR. But not if "charge mode" was last cmd exec.
Batt pull may screw up dates when restoring, so it is best to set recov. mode each time needed.

Yeah, no sleep for 3 days, that's why I said that. I meant to say, the Pete Souza Method. But yeah I got it all fixed with DAG425's SBF Tutorial. It was probably the easiest to wrap my mind around, well thought out tutorial.
In a side note, regretfully I seem to have fallen for the X2....sorry HTC. lol
Okay, so I just bought my Galaxy S2 a few hours ago came home and went to root it just like I've done every android phone when I get it. So far I've had a G1, HTC Hero and a HTC Evo 4G. So I'm not really new to doing any of this but I wouldn't say I'm any expert either. I used the tutorial for rooting from here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1301682) and it was this youtube video. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R-2Z2dKsuio) I tried to do it and got all the way until the point where you push start and then it said that it failed. Now all I can get my phone to do is pop up to a screen that says "Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies & try again." I have looked for a recovery mode option in Kies but can't find anything. The only thing I find is something about an Emergency Recovery and when I try that it asks for a pin or something. If anybody can help it'd be awesome!
What were you trying to flash? with Odin, right?
Remove the battery, hold both volume buttons, plug in USB, keep holding volume buttons.... does it enter download after ten seconds or so?
Try with this stuff using odin if you can enter download.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1286432
Then enter 3 button recovery and wipe data.
See if it boots.
Disclaimer: I'm no pro. This is just what I'd do. I'm not 100% certain new phones are identical to phones from October 2nd.

make sure its completely off then start the phone holding up on the volume rocker. that should bring it into rsd mode. if it wont stay on that usually means the battery is low and it needs to be charged before flashing. however it will not charge the battery in the state its in now.

If I had known you had the milestone x2 I would never have recommend red lite. It erases your carrier files which removes your ability to have a 3g data connection the only way to fix it is to go to your carrier and have them rewrite their files to it. However you need a fully functional stock ROM for that to work. Check out this thread I has everything you need to know about messing with the mx2 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2101633
