How can i read arabic in the browser of galaxy s2?
i am till now unable to do that...i installed an arabic font but when i search for it in the display setting i can't find it between the 4 standard fonts of the phone.
I don't want to instal the middle eastern ROM on my galaxy.
what should i now do to be able to read arabic. only read...

1. Root your phone with cf root so that you hace CWM (clock work Mod) installed.
2. copy the zip file to your sd card.
3. click on CWM recovery and reboot.
4. use the volume button to navigate down to install zip from sd card. click home button to enter.
5. use the volume button to click n choose zip from sd card. click home button.
6. using volume button scroll down to where the file is on sd card.
7. click on file to install, it will ask you if you want to install. say yes.
8. After installation is finished reboot the phone and you are finished.

yes you can do it with out an sd card.
just substite :
Step 2 create a folder on your phone and put the zip file in there
step 6 - navigate to where the folder containing file is stored on your phone.
all opther steps do not change.

I did every thing as mentioned up, but now my phone not starting up, tried to restore it through CWM but nothing happen, still stuck on SAMSUNG i9100 logo with yellow triangle ,
Any idea how to resolve this issue?

Well I'll assume that you have an P500 with v2.2.2, Stock Rom Untouched.

Download Gingerbreak
- Make sure USB debugging is enabled(Can be enabled through settings)
- Make sure you have an SD card (formatted and) inserted
- Place the app onto the root of your SD card
- Open the APK, press the root button
- Wait a few minutes. If there are no problems, the device will reboot (note that the reboot itself can take like 10 minutes due to cache wipe)
Congratulations the phone is rooted.

2) Terminal Emulator (Free from market)
3) The Custom Rom
I recommend FranciscoFranco's Rom as it contains excellent tweaks without hassle of flashing many files which may cause your phone to brick.
Recovery Installer, You can get it from: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/11987571/quick/recovery_installer.rar
when you have everything, lets start

4.Select flash and flash devoid.franco first then flash the kernel.You do not need to toggle signature verify as it should have signatured. If you are a ***** then carry on and toggle signature verify.
5.Reboot.

There's an option where it says "wipe" when you are in your recovery boot you should enter that category and wipe what the developer says.
Also there should be a guide of how to flash cm7 onto your phone in the thread itself
There shouldn't be any problem .
Do you mean you do not know how to enter recovery boot menu?
If so, open your terminal emulator and type
su
reboot recovery
It will reboot your phone to recovery boot.
Then wipe what the developer asks you to wipe,
make the partition on your sd card wether its ext2/3/4
Then flash it.

Hi! So I've sucessfully rooted my phone using the SuperOneClick or whatever its called...I need help backing up my rom. Already tried to follow these instructions;
G. Flash Custom Recovery:
1) Push recovery-clockwork-5.0.2.6-galaxyace.img to your device using "adb push recovery-clockwork-5.0.2.3-galaxyace.img /tmp/" command
2) Turn off your phone
3) Press POWER+HOME BUTTON
4) Login to your device over "adb shell"
5) Mount /system using "mount /dev/block/stl12 /system" command
6) Flash CWM recovery using "flash_image recoveryonly /tmp/recovery-clockwork-5.0.2.3-galaxyace.img" command
7) Umount /system using "umount /system" command
8) Reboot your device using "reboot recovery" command to test your new CWM recovery
9) Reboot your device
This is great and all...except for the fact that this keeps happening;
C:\Program Files (x86)\Android\android-sdk\platform-tools>adb push recovery-cloc kwork-5.0.2.3-galaxyace.img /tmp/ cannot stat 'recovery-clockwork-5.0.2.3-galaxyace.img'
I've already moved the entire zip and folder into platform-tools. What is it I do now?

Thanks. But which Zip? the one found on that website? I have clockwork but it doesn't recognize my phone model. Do I install that .apk included on? Some of these instructions are pretty vague to be honest. There's another version of that tutorial that goes more in depth but its for an older version. I don't really want to flash anything without knowing what I'm doing..

The zip file on that website provides a version of clockwork that will 1. provide a backup of your rom and 2. works for SG Ace. Which is what you want right? If not don't read any further and do some more searching around!
So let's go over what the website says. Download the zip file to your computer, paste it to your SD Card (anywhere on your SD Card). When it says 'paste the zip file as it is', it doesn't mean 'paste the .apk included in the zip file', it means 'paste the zip file'...
Disconnect your phone from your computer. Turn your phone off. Reboot into recovery by holding down the middle button and then pressing the power button. That will bring up 'recovery mode'. In recovery mode you will see the option 'apply update from SD Card', select that option with the middle key. It will then show you a list, in which will appear the .zip file you 'pasted into the SD Card'. Go to it and press the middle button. It will then install Clockwork Mod Recovery on your phone.
This should appear as an app, with the Clockwork bowler hat symbol. In there you can then press the 'create backup' and it will automatically reboot into recovery and show you the process of copying all the files into the 'clockwork recovery backup' folder that will have been created on your SD Card.

No need to get upset, but respect for helping me. So, in short, this will allow Clockwork Rom Manager to detect my model of phone and then allow me to back up my current rom, right?
I'm running Clockwork Rom Manager 5.0.0.3. What is the .apk he's including? Its not my fault if I have concerns..

you may not install rom manager because it kills your phonw
you need to use
the cwm .zip file given on dev section
rom manager has bricked and killed a lot phones
if you want to back upp stock rom
first download
cf root
flash it in cwm
then
convert system to ext4
then make backupp
otherwise you cant restore it
or use odin
to flash back

Look OP , you cannot use ROM Manager because it bricks your phone .
You have to flash ClockworkMod Recovery through stock recovery (it's a zip file)

No there is a miscommunication here. ROM MANAGER will brick your phone but CLOCKWORK RECOVERY is fine. They are TWO DIFFERENT THINGS.
CLOCKWORK RECOVERY can be got FROM THE LINK I PROVIDED and installed via the instructions I repeated here.
Edit: For the record the link I provided will install CWM Manager v1.80 AS WELL AS Recovery. This is not the same app as ROM Manager and it simply provides a user interface that takes you directly to Recovery Mode and create backups without having to go into recovery mode manually.

3. Boot your device into recovery menu
4. Select "apply update from sdcard" and choose "update.zip"
5. Select "reboot system now" => Finished!

i attached a zip file:
Frist step copy this zip file to you SD (important external SD)
- you must enter recovery mode
there are two ways
swich off your tablet after it press and hold volume up + power on
OR go to settings -->backup and reset--> recovery mode
- (help: you can move up and down with volume buttons and use on button for "enter")
soo chose apply update frome external storage than chose the zip file than YES
Reboot and your steelcore II+ is rooted

From hungary. Any rom, or tunning tip? The stock sys is slow and have a lot of bug...

i found a custom rom for this type of cpu ( cm 11 , and cm10.1) . Im going to try to optimalize, it only boots up nothing work well no touch no wifi no bluetooth etc only can you with usb mouse, bad screen resolution. Lately i patched screen res ( density ) but that was the easiest part if you want i upload some pics this week. But this rom has a lot of trouble.
i recomend you to delete easycall and 7 digit store useless apps. Use clean master from play store to clean ram, and delete trash files. you can clean cache and dalvik chace with link2sd ( play store ).

I know it's an old tread, but did someone manage to make a working custom rom for this device?
My father owns one, but he has many problems with the internal memory of only 1GB, it's constantly full.
I have a Motorola Moto E(XT1022). I bought it recently and just when I first started it, I got the 4.4.4 kitkat update and so I downloaded it right away. Then I realised one of the biggest problems of Moto E i.e. 2.2 gb storage. So i dug into find how to install apps on sd card and got to know that you have to root the phone. On xda, I found various ways to root but they were only for the 4.4.2 version of the phone and others were update to 4.4.4 on aldready rooted devices. Please tell me the way to root my device. Also as I am new to this, I dont understand any words like bootloader, fast recovery, etc. Please help me. Thank you in advance.

You can use the defalt method, dont need to change anything.

I know friend. I was talking about games like asphalt 8 and dead trigger which have data of size 1.5 gb because of which I wanted to root my phone. Thank you for the advice.

You can install only one game due to it's low internal memory. By one game I mean high graphics game. The obb file remains in the internal storage even after moving to SD card. I know friend. Thats why in this post I asked how to root the phone and not how to install games on sd card. Thanks.

Hi. i am in the same boat as you were. i have a moto e dual sim version running on 4.4.4 out of the box. i have asked around also but havent found a solution.
i have successfully unlocked the bootloader but i have tried n number of times to flash recovery but unsuccessful.
it just doesnt flash, i have tried official and unofficial TWRP and even CWM but i just simply get the recovery to stick.
Could you please tell me how you successfully flash recovery .

I followed the thread by deej_roamer here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2755336
Try out my steps:
[Your phone battery must be at least 75%]
1. First download "Fastboot" from the thread. (Click on the "mfastboot-v2" link in the thread)
2. Next install it in a folder and remember that folder. Also, make sure you select the option of "Create shortcut on Desktop" during installation.
3. Next download CWM recovery from this thread - http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-e/general/root-moto-e-rooting-flashing-recovery-t2802971 (Click on the "CWM 6.0.4.9 recovery For MOTO E" link in the thread)
4. Copy the "cwm6.0.4.9_recover.img" file to the installation folder of fastboot.
5. Next download SuperSU v2.02 from here - http://download.chainfire.eu/452/SuperSU/UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.02.zip (Click on "UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.02.zip" link)
6. Don't Extract Supersu zip file.
7. Connect phone to pc. Copy the zip file to your internal memory(the directory of int. memory is /sdcard) (The directory for ext. sd card is /storage/sdcard1).
8. Remove your phone from your pc.
9. Switch off your device.
10. Turn on your device by holding power off button and volume down button together for 6-7 seconds. Quickly connect your phone to your pc.
11. The bootloader must be showing usb connected.
12. Run fastboot from your desktop.
13. Now type this (without quotes) - "fastboot flash recovery cwm6.0.4.9_recovery.img"
14. Look at the screen of device. It must be showing "Mismatched partition size (recovery)". It is normal don't worry.
15. Press volume down once (recovery will be selected) and then volume up so that it goes into recovery.
16. It will show the bootloader unlocked warning. Don't worry about it.
17. Your phone should now be in CWM recovery.
18. Don't do anything except what I tell you.
19. In this menu movement is done by the volume rockers ans selection by power button.
20. Press volume down so that "install zip" is selected.
21. Press power button.
22. Select "choose zip from /sdcard". Press power button.
23. Find the SuperSU.zip file(It will probably be in the "0/" folder)
24. It will ask to confirm install. Select Yes.
25. SuperSU will be installed.
26. Select CWM reboot. When you select CWM reboot, it will display "root access possibly lost - Fix?". PLEASE Select "No".
27. Your phone will now reboot. (The bootloader unlocked warning will be shown and then the boot animation).
28. Open your menu(in the phone) and find SuperSu app (a # symbol will be there in its icon).
29. Disconnect your device from the pc.
CONGRATULATIONS YOU HAVE A ROOTED MOTO E.
If you ever wish to flash any other recovery (like twrp),
1. Copy the file to the fastboot installation folder in your pc.
2. Then reboot your device into bootloader and quickly connect it to your pc.
3. Run fastboot from your desktop and then type the following without quotes: "fastboot flash recovery cwm6.0.4.9_recovery.img"

error: cannot load 'recovery.img': No error
I have followed every step as mentioned by xda.......i have android 4.4.4 update may be thats why it is not rooting.....
please anyone give me solution....i cant root my phone

Is your recovery.img placed in the "C:\Program Files (x86)\Minimal ADB and Fastboot"?
It need to placed in it or you'll get an error.
Boot loader is LOCKED !! cannot be unlocked !! so no root for me ?
