hi all devs,
i have searched lots of on internet and came to know that camera hardware in sk17i mini pro is same as in arc and in neo. may be its limited to 5mp, also i have seen both camera from outside and almost they are same in looking, haven't gone under because of warranty. now one more confusion why mini pro camera don't have zoom in video mode, its only have in still mode. is arc, and neo also have same problem. how can i come to know that they have same camera module, help appriciated, i just want to unlock the camera limitations.
i do have this doubt because earlier SE announce this mini pro with exmor r sensor but after some time it has been removed may be its a sales marketing ideas.
so guys please suggest me something to know this deeply. can i see something in hardware config from the rom provided by DooMLoRD.
You can zoom when taking pictures?

There is a zoom function in software, I do it using volume keys, but pinch zoom should work too.

I'd per highly surprised. Looking at that tiny lens on the SK17, I'm surprised it can even do the 5MP photos let alone a 8.1 MP. Other thing to note is the camera could look the same, but not have the same internals, as you have pointed out, the SK17 doesn't have the exmor r sensor, which would make a significant difference in PQ.
It would be interesting to learn if the cameras are in fact the same part number, but I suppose that would mean tearing down the phones and finding part numbers.
Regards,
Mike

Can anyone confirm Multi touch for x10 Mini NOT Pro
Saw the blog here.. Seems Xda team did it again. Is it supported on X10 mini as well?
nope. mini and mini pro have different hardware on MT so there should be a different script for the mini

you mean X10 mini will never have MT? I think both have the same screens. Am I right?
I saw an article on endgadget but cant port links since my posts arent yet 10 but I will quote it
However, this one isn’t your usual run of the mill rumor. Our friend Michell over at se-blog did a little bit of research on his own. He managed to contact Synaptics, who are a supplier of touchscreen technologies and learned that the X10 mini sports a ClearPad 2000 solution, which means it supports dual touch, which is the basic form of multi-touch. It may not be available out of the box due to the device launching with Android 1.6 onboard, but it’ll certainly be enabled once the Android OS is updated.
Strangely, Synaptics is the supplier for only the X10 mini and not the X10 mini pro. Is it because Sony Ericsson thought that the mini would be crippled due to the lack of a physical keyboard and hence opted for the technology to provide a better experience? No idea. Sony Ericsson do have a knack of taking strange decisions, this one being another addition to the list.

Actually the reverse is happening. Now I am seeing multitouch on X10 mini Pro but not X10 mini

I'm sorry, you will never have MT , engadget its the worse gossip publisher, and no, Mini pro have different digitizer (CYP-CY8CTMA300), better than mini, better than even big X10, capable with multitouch, and no dualtouch like X10 (Clearpad2000), or single touch like mini (Clearpad1000).. sorry, but let it die!

better than even big x10,capable with multitouch, meanting that pro can have more than two finger touch ???

? Why is Mini Pro capable of while Mini isn't?! I mean Mini relies only on its touchscreen whereas the Pro might even add functionality to some apps with the keyboard.
Anyone knows the answer why SE chose for that? (was mini released before the Pro i.e.? Or maybe loves the Pro more, like I do? ).
Hello guys anyone on AOSP was able to set 3264x1836 pictures?

All AOSP cameras that I have dealt with in the past only go to 5MP for some reason. Maybe because there isn't any Google phones (nexus series) that support higher than a 5mp camera. Guessing there is a modification that can be done to support higher resolution but no one ever seems to ask/care.

Hello, all I need is a wisescreen size, it doen't matter if its 5 or 8MP. Do you think it's possible?, are there any apps that replace the original camera?

Try out camera 360 pro, IMHO its the best 3rd party camera on the market. Previously the pro version was paid (i paid for it a long time ago) but now it is free and all the pro features are included.

Dear everyone,
I'm quite a newbie to Android phones and may I ask you guys for some questions?
I really love the design of Sony Xperia and I hope to get one, but I've read that the problems about sony's 'camera software' make their photos not as good as they should be. (Specifically, I'm interested in Xperia M reviewed in gsmarena.com)
So, does that means if I use third party camera software, such as Camera360 etc., I won't have to face the problems right?
For example, some say photos taken by 5-MP samsung galaxy core native camera are better than photos taken by 5-MP sony xperia M native camera. But photos taken by 5-MP samsung galaxy core camera360 are as same as photos taken by 5-MP sony xperia M camera360.
Did I undertand right?
P.S. Sorry for my bad English
Hello
I can't decide which camera app gives the best results for shooting photos...
Because of the fact that the mini lacks the OIS, it's really hard to take a good photo...
What app did you find that provides the best results?
Thanks :good:
So no one is taking photos I guess..?

After testing several, the one that gave me better quality photos was Snap Camera.
The Nubia Camera App is pretty good and has a lot of Functions.
Using now another Rom and the Google Camera App
Snap camera is pretty good indeed...
But I cannot record live performances with that phone... It seems like mic gain is too loud..

Which ROM are you using?
The stock camera is not going to work if you are not using a stock based ROM, I'm trying to port it but there is a lot of work to do.
You can try the generic app from http://app.nubia.cn/app but it's not full like stock one (no HDR).

I'm using Cyanogenmod 12. I always use Cyanogenmod. The sensor in the oneplus is the same as in the nubia Z7 right? So I don't understand why the pictures look moved and the colors look washed out.
I don't know how I feel about the nubia, the size is good, it's smooth, the battery is good but the oneplus camera was waaaay better IMO.
I am using CM11 and Lenovo camera, with this phone you can also use freedcam (search here on xda) and you'll have access to the raw image.
Drivers and software can do a lot of difference even with the same sensor.

Yea but my Oneplus was also on CM12 and using the cm11s camera. Would it be the other hardware like the 1GB ram that's missing and the CPU that's clocked lower?
The pictures look moved easily and the colours are washed out!

Oneplus does not have hardware OIS as well (I think). So no software OIS?

Hi guys.. Just wanted a small help.. Can you guys confirm if Motorola camera works on Z2 running cm 12.1?? Also can you check if slow MO is working or not?

why do you want motorola camera? z2 has everything you need in stock rom and you can have even more addons. you have slowmo in sony s app timeshift video that takes 120 fps. i suggest you try the existenz rom, i use kitkat (existenz ultimate) because it s more stable with xposed and root

There is no device that has fully supported and full featured camera in any CM or AOSP ROM. By using CM or AOSP ROMs camera quality sacrifice is inevitable. You will loose all advanced post-processing and features tailored for a specific camera. Camera hardware is working on universal CM drivers and by rule OEM drivers are proprietary and closed source. There is nothing anybody can do about this. Slo mo and 120 fps recording are advanced features not supported without OEM camera drivers. This is the case with all android devices. There are some improvisations and hacks for some specific devices but are almost always of poor quality and unusable. Moto cakera works with Z2 and CM but slow motion is not working properly.
