I'm wondering if there is a way to hide the hold button while I'm on a call. I'm constantly putting people on hold. I know that CM 7.0.3 had that feature, but i've since upgraded to CM7-ZMOD| 003 (needed a more stable ROM, and some of the other 7.0.3 based ROM's were giving me stability and wifi issues). Is there any way to do this or implement this feature again without downgrading to CM 7.0.3?
solution to problem
hold the phone at least 1/2 a centimeter from you ears
thank me if it works

I'm using ComRom 1.2 - every time you adjust the volume it turns the screen on. It's kinda annoying if you're just listening to music. Any way to fix it?
Looks like both Community Rom and Evil Fascination suffer from this due to something in ED01. Hoping for a fix myself as I find my battery life is suffering as a result of the screen waking up on and off while its in my pocket.
lol, suffer? It was edited as a feature to the comm rom and since nitro kangs the comm rom as a base for his rom that's why both roms "suffer" from that feature.
good day.
They should set it as a option in tsm parts

I realize it is a feature and most people would like it. I was trying to find a way to disable it since I accidentally turn it on more now than before (in my pocket, etc). I noticed thatdudebutch had a disable fix on the Thunderbolt.http://www.multiupload.com/TC787BVBR5
I wonder if it might work or if it might be changed to work on evil or community rom?
I don't understand what the benefits of this feature are other than wasting battery life (not a benefit)
I love that they added this... i stopped using widget locker and i had really missed this feature.

Why on earth is this considered a good feature? How many buttons do you need to wake this thing up when in your pocket?
I have been looking for over an hour some way to disable the volume wake. Its pointless, and I certainly do not need my phone waking up in my pocket.
I find pressing the power button pretty easy. Dont need it on the volume key as well........ Really hard on the battery
This is something you should go out of your way to enable, not disable
I already have a power cord installed in the dashboard of my car, but it's on the left side of the dashboard. I'd like to have the flyer on a mount with the power jack on the left, but then it's upside down. Is there any way to enable it to do landscape with the buttons on the top?
Maybe not on Gingerbread with the buttons, but it is possible on some HC roms without the hard buttons.
I'll have to look into that then - currently still running stock GB. I do like the hardware buttons though, so hesitating to go HC until they get them working there.
As you have probably read, many of us find the hard buttons redundant in HC and therefore unnecessary, but I understand if you have a special application you might need them.
I was expecting with HC update that Flyer could be used within 360 deg (since no hardware buttons to be used) but still it acts in 2-way as if there're still HW buttons.
You should ask Lee if he can add that option to his HC LeeDroid ROM, its theoretically possible but requires modification of the HTC sense framework
Yea, it would be a nice considering that when you have a foliio case and it is orientated like a book then to landscape you have to turn it the un natural way in my opinion.

That's strange, at least on the Streak 7 with HC you can rotate all four directions. It's like the flyer in that it started with android 2.x and OTA'ed officially to 3.x (2.2 -> 3.2) Must be a rom limitation then as my Streak 10 also supports all 4 rotations (but it launched with 3.1)
Hello
I appreciate both the CM and AOKP roms built on 4.1.2 are no longer being supported but is anyone running these roms as daily drivers and can confirm their stability?
Over the last month I have tried both roms and found them great roms with no audio (speaker) issues which keeps me from using the 4.2 builds of these roms.
Unfortunately I am finding my phone occasionally will not turn back on when the phone has gone into sleep. When this happens the capacitive buttons at the bottom are illuminated in red but the phone will not turn on at all. I am forced to hold down the power button so that the phone reboots.
Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this?
For both CM and AOKP I just use the kernel within the rom zip. Perhaps I should use the latest Maxwen kernel?
I've been recently thinking about flashing the latest stable CyanogenMod into my Galaxy S3, having been really satisfied with CM 7.2.0 on the Galaxy Ace. However, having seen a friend of mine who flashed Cyanogen into his phone, I have a couple of insecurities about some system features I'm afraid I might lose.
Specifically:
Will I lose USB and wifi tethering? I use it to give my home computer internet without having to put my laptop's Ethernet and wifi on bridge mode, and back when I had my old Galaxy Ace, CM 7.2.0 didn't have USB tethering while Samsung's official ROM did.
Will I lose the power saving mode? I find it very, very useful when I go on a night out, which means having to keep the phone on for at least 12 hours straight. I kinda have seen that axing the phone's maximum CPU speed to 800 MHz kinda helps, as well as using GO Power Master's 3G pulse mode (so I can keep receiving messages while having the 3G off), but I have yet to do some extra testing.
Will I lose the notification bar toggles? When I checked my friend's Galaxy S3 with CyanogenMod, it didn't have any power toggles on the top bar. I tried using an app called Power Toggles, but My Data Manager interferes with it, it doesn't have full access to the system's toggles (like the GPS which as far as I know is per Jellybean's programming), and its flashlight also turns off after I lock the screen.
How do other third party launchers (Apex, Nova, GO) perform compared to Samsung's TouchWiz launcher? (haven't installed them yet because that would mean having to put again in folders every single shortcut for my ~200 apps).
Will I lose the NFC? I'm fine with settling for Android Beam instead of S Beam, but will I be able to keep the NFC function? I kinda remember my friend saying CyanogenMod 10.1 didn't support it.
Lastly, how does Cyanogen's camera compares to Samsung's? I find the picture stabilizer, button zoom, picture burst and panoramic stitch modes extremely useful, though I remember Cyanogen 7.2.0 having the ability to bind the volume up button to the shutter, which allowed for some seriously stable shots.
Thanks in advance.
1) no
2) can be replaced with various apps such as SetCPU
3) can have toggles like now or quick tiles. Choice of both. Or none.
4) Much better. Better on Touchwiz ROMS too
5) I dont use it but its in settings so I assume it works
6) Its not quite as good.
1-4) As answered above.
5) Yes it works.
6) Camera isn t as good as the stock Samsung camera. But everything pretty much works. Recently, touch to focus with flash also got fixed in CM.
Note : - If you try CM, I advice you to try Temasek s ROM. It is based on CM. And it has quite a few nifty features added extra + kernel with features ported from Andreilux kernel (Good battery backup) [This is just my personnel opinion and I am in no way advertising any ROM].
Hey guys,
currently my device is running Ressurrection Rom for the View 10 on my Mate 10 Pro BLA-L29.
There are some bugs currently on Lineage base and I have to admit that I really like the EMUI features on Stock Roms, but the only reason why I switched was the feature to skip tracks without turning on the screen by long pressing the volume buttons. I know that there are several apps in the store but they ain't as good as the modification in those Custom Roms.
So if there is anyone who knows to extract this feature in a flashable file or something like that, please let me know.
I really would go back on rooted Stock Rom, but as long as I'm listening 24/7 to music I'm to lazy to do so.
Thanks.
