I have got everything to make the kitchen work and infact it is working just fine. I can browse through options but the thing is there is no instruction whatsoever to port a rom from one device to another so if someone could start me off, that'll be greatly appreciated. Since both Desire HD and Galaxy s Plus run have armv7 structure, would a port like this be successful?
Any kind of tip is appreciated..
Thanks a lot in advance !

You won't find a true guide to porting as each porting venture requires different things needed. The porting option is #19 in the advanced section. Just follow the directions on the screen and you'll get a very basic port of the ROM. You will also need to transfer files and drivers from your device into the new ported ROM to get things working and also edit the build.prop lines. I can't give you instructions on what to do because each device and each port is different. Plus I don't own either of those devices.

Given our devs who have ports other versions of Sense over to the Rezound haven't gotten Sense 5 working fully yet, I don't think anyone is going to be able to show you how.
Check the Dev section, talk to those guys, see what's happened so far and see what pointers they can give you.
Thats going to be hard to do since porting an ion kernel for a non-ion device has been hard on the devs. I dont know how SebastianFM ported the kernel for the sensation but that must have took a hell of a lot of work. He did stuff from scratch. I think they would have to put me in a crazy home after that.
Excuse me, developers. I recently found the kernel source for MT6572 here : http s://github.com/aniruddha-adhikary/mt6572_kernel. I have 2 questions. 1.)Would I be able to create a kernel for Micromax A77 with this ? It runs on this chipset. If so, how ? 2.)Would I be able to create a custom rom, say, Cyanogenmod with this ? If so, how ? PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!!!!
Yes, but it is difficult

Usually, kernels differ from device to device. For example say, this Acer phone the kernel was made for, might just be compatible with your phone... and if that happens. Congo! You have just got your passport to heaven. But, if that is not the case, that is if you phone is incompatible, then you need to do a LOT of hacking to get things working properly.

Well, the basic functionality lies in the mediatek/config and mediatek/custom folders. Take a look at the configs. Compare that to features available to your phone. Use a apps or disassemble your phone to find the model number of sensors and compontents like the LCD and stuff. This will help you to get the configuration right. Getting the configuration right will result in the perfect kernel build.
Thanks
I also use same device micromax a77 find a clonned device named fly iq4404 its touch is not working but it booted without modifications so any one will help me to fix that bug
Sent from my Micromax A77 using XDA Free mobile app

Hi,
I've decide to start the port of Wiko Highway(MTK6592) on CM11. I'm newbie in CM Port and i've need some help to make good choices and take good directions.
I've made some research and i've found a port on Wiko Stairway(Same range, but MTK6589) manage by chrmhoffmann. I think that i can take some work who have already done for this port, but i'm not sure.
Have you some tips or some usefull links to work correctly?
(Of course, i've already add in my bookmarks the CM Official Help )
Thanks for reading,
Antoine

Did you made it? I have wiko highway and want this ^^
Hi Guys,
After my little stay on XDA and trying messing with many devices of android and bricking few lead to me know about android development.
Anyways, So my point is I am trying to port this MIUI KiKat ROM (MIUI V5 for Elephone P9) which is exactly identical to my device except the NFC and the the CPU frequency thing ( which I don't think matters that much while porting) and my device is XOLO 8x-1000 HIVE
So what I learnt is that devices should have-
Same SoC's, Same display size, Same architecture, Same processors. My device and ELephone has everything same even the internal storage and the RAM i.e. 2GB and mount points are also identical but without NFC so can't call it a clone exactly.
I tried many MIUI guides followed this one so far THE BEST - MIUI PORTING FOR DUMMIES all in vain :/ after flashing my recover.log is totally fine.! After rebooting I see my spalsh screen after that my phone gets stuck at a unresponsive black screen not even showing the boot animation. Funny this is that phone is actually detected by adb and on connecting with PC the storage are also shown but it gives error that please insert storage. I attached the pic at the end of the post so you can have a look at it also when I logcat an endless chain of God knows what continues I can't even get it to read . Can anyone help me porting this MIUI to my device! I really want to want to port MIUI any MediaTek expert in the XDA house willing to help me
Please don't ignore this thread as no solution is yet available. IDK how this guy ported MIUI to his device with same specs as mine. I even contacted him and he said he just follow that guide I linked above ultimate guide of MIUI porting. Anyone please help me as I can see that devices related to mine are actually running MIUI but I can't sadly :'(
Any help would be greatly appreciaited. Any MTK dev around please help Even yuweng sir didn't had much idea what to do.!
Hey so I was hoping someone could help me root my samsung galaxy s6, I know it's a super old phone but I don't think you need the new one every year. I only want a method that involves using an apk since im too lazy to use a pc. I am running 7.0 and my base band version is g920aucu6aqc1. I have been searching for a while now and none have worked so if you know of one or can make one that would be much appreciated. :fingers-crossed:
