Is there anyway to change/remove the Verizon Wireless text on the Sense 2.1 lock screen?? I've been searching the XML's and still have come up with a blank.
I've been able to find the status bar pulldown text to change just not the lockscreen.
In earlier phones, it was in eri.xml. But, with 4G, it's probably pulled from the UICC ("SIM"), which contains a "CDMA Home Service Provider Name" file. So, it's probably not just a matter of finding and changing a string somewhere. I suspect you'd have to dig into the code to find where it's written to the display, and make changes there.

Hi all.
My lady is having problems with main screen icons (default UI) disappearing from buttons, is hers fault indeed, but as i have checked myself is very easy to drag and drop icons from there, is there any way to lock these 4 icons on their places and be able to change than only when going into configuration mode?

Right, in act of desperation contacted with SE support, been told that there is no way to lock those icons, they made it that way to make it easy to change whenever you want... fair enough, tho option to lock it for good wouldn't hurt anyone i believe.

@whiteze I have often the problem that the icons drafted to other pages . Do you bother to make everything neat. State suddenly everything together. With empty space per page.
installed adw instead, there option to make icons larger, locked screen, problem solved
I'm interested in changing the failure lock pattern to transparent. I've set the 'use visible pattern' off, but when I swipe an incorrect pattern the trail always shown.
Does anyone knows how to edit that using a de/compiled framework-res.apk?
So far I only managed to set the icons, successful pattern and texts disappeared.
Also it'd be nice to know how to move/format the dates, clock, and service provider label.

Using the stock ROM and since changing to an MCR, I've not found anywhere to alter the items in the notification pull down (Wireless, Bluetooth, GPS, Vibrate and Rotation). Is this possible? I never change the first three and would prefer to change them to something more useful! I think I've checked every menu but may be missing something and I've searched and searched Google...
In the notifications pull-down menu the top left corner has a label dedicated to displaying the carrier's name. Since I never forget which carrier I'm on it's not particularly useful, and I've noticed that many ROMs add an option to change it to a custom piece of text.
I frequently switch between Wi-Fi hotspots and I often want to check which network my phone is connected to. Does anyone know if it's possible to have this label display the Wi-Fi SSID?

Yeah I've been wondering this too. If I get switched over to my 4g hotspot with its limited amount of data per month, it'd be nice to see that.
The ViperLTE rom has this in one of the VenomTweaks. It is a very nice feature.
Look under Tweaks -> Status Bar -> Carrier Label -> Carrier Second Label. Choose "WiFi Status"
I have a Verizon LG G3, but recently had to switch to T-Mobile. The phone is unlocked, but now I have this annoying icon on the notification bar next to the signal icon that shows a SIM card with a question mark in it. On other phones I remember a notification appearing in the notification bar that you could long finger-press and then go into app info then force stop or uncheck notifications to remove the icon, but there's nothing of the sort on this phone. Is there any way to get rid of this icon??
If you have tweaksbox and xposed I believe you can hide the icon from there. If you dont you can delete stat_notify_sim_unknown.png out of drawable-xxxhdpi-v4 and also delete the same name out of the public.xml file(else you'll have recompile issues) in the LGSystemUI.apk. If you don't know how to decompile and recompile system apks, I can do it for you. Which ROM and version are you on?
