Hi guys, i was watching Arc's forum and i found an interesting flashable zip for improve arc's performances and stabily; Here the link to the original thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1249387
When i saw "Render UI with GPU", i was surprised cause i know that gingerbread does not support GPU acceleration. So, i took a look at the content of the package and i found an interesting line added in build.prop:
video.accelerate.hw=1
So, I tried to add this line to my build.prop (wolf v5 rom) and after reboot seems that my touch responsiveness is changed..touch quality is not better but seems that scrolling speed is increased!! Maybe it is just a placebo effect but i notice some improvment expecially in:
-SE home menu scrolling
-SE home widgets overview (try to shake the phone and watch widgets movement)
So..Seems very strange that a so simple modify can be increase performance and nobody here ( great devs and modder) find it yet!! So this is just a test..so who want can try and report if this tweak work or not!!
Procedure:
-Open your build.prop with an explorer (rot explorer for ex.) (root required)
-Add this line:
video.accelerate.hw=1
-Save and close
-Reboot
Let's know me what do you think.
All credits and thanks to W1000i that share this files in Arc forum
Cheers
Francesco
Its already included in my ROM So i found it^^
I put that line in my build.prop and see no difference.
This tweak did the job in removing homescreen lag in Erenz's MIUI
Thanks for sharing!

Is there anything not included in your rom?
Do I insert that line at the bottom of the build prop.
Because mine last line = ro.ril.disable.power.collapse=1
Can I put it under there?

That only works after honeycomb....
any effect is placebo
I feel like it actually work.. scrolling was never so smooth.. maybe a little difference but that line certainly really does something..
Thank you for the tweak/tip will give it a try...
I did some research, the os has to support it and it was implemented in honeycomb
Thank you for sharing this djkekko89, Im using EWJet's rom and notice everything seems much more responsive, screen transitions are quicker, pinch-zooming in the browser seems much smoother and so on.

Yes mate..i know that..infact i wrote that in the OP..honeycomb are the first android version that use RenderScript to accelerate the UI..so this is the reason why this is only a test..we must figure out if there are really improves or not..anyway i'm searching in other forum and seems that other devs/modder are using this tweak..thanks to all for testing!

You didn't see any improvement? I never said that you will see your device faster, just SD, and wifi, and no cache settings, on cyanogenmod menu, but on system it's changed, so if you dont like it dont use it, but if you dont really know if something is working, dont talk about that

Interesting article here listing some tweaks that can be used regardless of firmware; http://acetips.wordpress.com/2011/12/16/build-prop-tweaks-for-samsung-galaxy-ace/

I tried the tweak to enhance touch responsiveness. but after I did it almost every app began to fC. many others worked fun for me.powersaving ones worked great.
press thanx if I helped.
some apps work others do not.
but also maybe the compatibility of apps to phone.

I observed, CyanogenMod already facilitates some of those tweaks without touching build.prop file...
For example, I wanted to improve touch response more..

Above lines were already added in my build.prop, which I observed gets added automatically when we change "Overscrolling weight" to "Extra Light" in CyanogenMod Settings.
Locking home screen in memory is also there in CM settings.
I just yse the power saving lines...without any lagfree or turboboost script

I was running a rooted X2 with V6 supercharger before last night.. I finally took the jump and installed the Eclipse 2.0.4 ROM (gotta say it's pretty Damn Awesome!!) and was wondering if I can still run the V6 Supercharger or if I even need to. I'm still pretty green to this so any help is appreciated, as sometimes I can only read so much before I just start seeing the same stuff. Thanks again!

Nevermind... just saw your other post on a different forum... will stick with V6 7&20... I was running options 7 before Eclipse, never tried 20... looking forward to seeing something new.
Sorry for the multiple posts... wasn't smart enough to hit the edit button the first time.
You need to delete the min free memory values from the eclipse build prop if you want the v6 supercharger values to stick. And yes I have used v6 supercharger with 2.04 and it works fine as usual. In fact I even installed the KAK from Zep as well

Otherwise would I have to keep reloading the V6 values??? Where would I go to delete the min free values, and do you do that after you run V6 or before you run it?
Before you run the v6 let me look for a great tutorial that moon shadow wrote up.

No please do. I would normally check my phone and research first but since I did not have time I just wanted to let him know changes had to be made for it to stick. I had second thought about build prop but I was in a rush. Feel free to correct me anytime we are all here to help eachother out. That's why I sent the link from moon shadow I remember it was very clear and was hoping he would follow that.

You do not have to remove the lines from 99tweaks to get v6supercharger to stick.
Zepp updated v6 to name the supercharger file S99supercharger to make sure it runs last. Before it was just 99supercharger and therefore it ran before 99tweaks.
Doesn't hurt to remove them but not necessary.

yea I just remove them tho
there's no reason to leave em there if u are using a different script to manage ur minfrees and such...
leaving the lines creates whatsoever known as "conflicting scripts"....not necessarily gonna cause an issue but why would u want "conflicting scripts"...just sounds like a bad thing lol
another way around it would be to just rename 99tweaks to 98(or lower)
I also just don't.like one script changing it from the stock values and then another script after that changing it to my custom values, 3 different values gets loaded,(again not necessarily going to cause an issue) but why? lol
just my take on it...
Yeah, yeah... (lol)
But for someone uncomfortable with editing scripts, might be valuable info knowing they don't have to.

For the LED lights try this. check the /system/lib/modules and look for lights.something.so first.. change it to lights.mimmi.so and if that doesnt work try lights.delta.so. best case have lights.mimmi.so lights.delta.so lights.goldfish.so AND lights.default.so - it should be mimmi or delta but try using the one from miniCM9. same goes with sensors if they don't work
