I found SPB 3D mobile shell, and paid 14.95 to DL to the Photon, and I can tell you that HTC Sense is a thing of the past for me. I don't miss it at all now that I have loaded this soft ware. Trust me when I tell you that I am a real sense fan, and I feel this add on can help cure sense miss you blues! Some lite profanity and humorous display in the first link.

I never saw this, and yes it is worth every cent. I like the favorites list for calls, and such easy navigation. With this app sense is no longer a issue.
Nice, play some.

what about battery? Is this a battery hog!
Currently using Go Launcher EX + all GO Widgets and I love it. I do love SPB and bought it also but I'm afraid of it being a huge battery drain.
Looks alright ...not as good as sense 3.0
And 15bux...what a rip!!!

SPB isnt that great, definitely not worth 14.99. Drop it to 5 bucks then maybe....

Still on the fence on the tb, have upgrade waiting just hesitant to buy.
Have heard usual smartphone complaints ie batt ect but heard same about incredible but after using inc most complaints wer nitpicking at best. esp after root is great phone. Just wanted some input from inc users who went to tb & what u think of Ur switch, pro's con's.
Thanks
sent from dinc
Apart from the obvious differences such as screen size, my dinc had more of a washed out screen display at extreme angles, I did not have an AMOLED screen, the Thunderbolt has had better battery life, the processor is faster, just about everything is bigger and better. The dinc had it's advantages, namely it's easier to fit in your pocket and AOSP has already been released for it.
Sent from my Thunderbolt using Tapatalk
I'm coming from the inc and I have zero complaints. All of the people complaining are just nit-picking like they do with everyone phone that comes out (unless I just got lucky with the perfect build).
If you had the dinc u know how crappy the battery was. I've had this phone since opening day, and it seems to me battery life is just about equal to the incredible. Which is impressive considering the 4g and large screen.
Personally if I could go back in time I would have waited until miui came out for this phone before I bought it, and I would have kept the incredible with miui.
This phone is definately better and I would reccommend buying it, however it isn't worlds better than then the incredible. Its just a small step up IMHO
Pro: nicer bigger screen, faster, more memory
Cons: no great roms like cyan or miui yet, some apps don't work with it example: tdbank, myverizon, spb shell.
Overall: happy with my purchase and would do it again

It works on some devices. already talked to the devs about it. They are working on a fix
Are you using beta 5, or the the real "spb shell 3d"
Edit: it even says it in the market description

I would get it now. With the rooting and a couple of threads on how to remove the bloatware, I was able to clean mine up fairly quickly and its running smooth with good battery life.

I'm using SPB Mobile Shell 5 but it is the beta... That is bizarre that the final beta released less than a week ago functions on the TB but the actual paid release does not... Hopefully they will fix it because I think it's great.

Has anybody tried the new update with their 3vo? How is the update so far?
Sent from my PG86100 using XDA Premium App
Yes and it sucks. There are 3 different ways to view it in 3d and they all suck. Maybe once its no longer experimental and they put more work into it , then it will be sick. And the 3 ways are red scale, cyan scale, and grey scale, and the only way you can tell any difference is in carousel mode.
Sent from 3days in the future and still no dang S-off !!! WTF
I don't know what the update does, but the launcher has a clean nice look, and I normally switch between the stock and spb.
It's a very nice launcher, as long as you don't use live wallpapers.
I bought it. I like it "okay" but I don't like the scrolling. For example, when you go to all apps and you scroll the list and then tap to stop the scrolling, the scrolling "crawls" slowly forward or back for about a second so that the icons align with a particular row. During that time (while it is scrolling slowly), it is unresponsive. If you tap an icon, it is ignored. You end up having to wait at least a full second after stopping a scroll to be able to start an app. For that reason alone, I uninstalled it and went back to Sense.
Mike
Hey Mike I haven't had that issue at all. And I bought the shell when it was released for android. And they now have a setting for the use of live wallpapers.

Man $14 for an app... They've gotta be smoking, no way.
To think I bought it for $30 back in my Windows Mobile days... Desparate times those were.
If it were a more reasonable price I would buy it. I tried it on my Samsung Epic and it ran smooth as butter, so I think it would look even better on my 3vo 3d (blah hah). I"m not paying $14 for that thing.. I just used the beta for a while when it had that thing going on to trick it.

Just downloaded this new Launcher, it is a whole new concept and a little bit expensive ($17) I´m still getting used to it but it seems to be fast, stable and full of 3D effects and images. Not all the features are available right now since this is the first release, but I'm sure new cool features will be added in the few days.
What fo you think, has somenone tried it?
I would never pay more than $1 for a launcher... maybe 2. That's gross... It looks kind of nice but screw that lol. I'm a guy that buys full versions of all my apps, but that? $17? Doh'kay

I tried it out. I did not come away particularly impressed - especially for $17. SPB Shell was expensive at $15 - but its a lot prettier and currently more functional. I don't mind paying a premium for a launcher but it's really gotta be pretty amazing - and TSF doesn't cut it for me (also the fact that they just took the whole idea from TAT kinda bothers me).

If you wanna learn all about the amaze click the bible link in my signature.. I think the best feature on the phone is the camera, not a single device out there takes pictures as good unless it is JUST a camera.. but newer phones like the htc one can't compete. I was geeking out at my local tmobile, comparing pictures with my amaze to their htc one.. they all agreed, my amaze won(when projected on a 60" hdtv).
Overall, the phone is still top in its class, there isn't anything BETTER, just slightly different form factors and shapes. The second reply to this thread said he thought the phone was too heavy.. I like the weight, I feel like I am holding something real, rather than some plastic toy when I hold any galaxy S(1,2, or 3). So quite a bit is just going to be personal preference.
Best camera I've ever seen on a phone (haven't seen the HTC titan... but that's a windows phone )
Enjoy the new phone

Can I just throw some love to the evo's display. I've had mine for like 5 months and this display still blows me away. Colors are perfect and text is so sharp.
Also the build quality still amazes me and people I show it to are always impressed with how thin it is.
Battery life is also great and I can pretty consistently make it through the day with typical usage.
I don't use the kick stand much but when I do it is very handy to have.
Been running stock sense for like a month and dont hate it. It adds a lot of functionality and the keyboard is pretty accurate with very few mistypes.
Love this phone!

I love my evo as well but that isnt gonna stop me from getting that m7 on release day...gotta have the latest and greatest ...I'm sure it will improve upon an already terrific and very underated, underappreciated device which is the LTE ...don't think I can ever stray from the sense camera now..it has spoiled me lol

I just came from the optimus g (which I still have) now in terms of speed lgog beats the evo hands down, not by a lot tho. But with overall experience and screen quality and camera quality evo all day. I am so happy is bought one. With a good Rom & kernel evo is a beast with great battery life. Only if you coukd install another gig of ram, this phone would be my primary for a lot longer. It is truly sad how under rated it really is.:beer::beer::beer::beer:

I don't understand why people think Sense is "slow". Sense is not "slow". It might make UI framerates a bit laggy at times, but it's not slow. Unless you use a stopwatch and measure app opening and operation times between Sense and AOSP, there's really nothing "slow" about it. The processors we have in these phones are so insanely fast that OEM overlays basically do nothing to the speed at which Android operates.

Coming from a nexus 4 the EVO LTE is awesome. My Nexus (bought directly from google) had this weird thing where it rattled, and it honestly felt cheap. I like the back glass of the n4 more than the plasticky look of the evo but I stuck a case on it and now I don't notice it at all. Basically the same in terms of processor speed, and the battery life on this phone is light years better. Also, having a microSD card slot makes me feel privileged.. 16GB just doesn't cut it. Oh, and i personally like the Sense camera better. Not sure which one the tech gods think is better but the only advantage the N4 had was that "photo sphere" garbage which quite frankly wasn't that special.
So compared to the N4, I love my EVO.
Oh, and the GS3 felt like one of those toy candy-filled phones you see at the dollar store.
That is all.
