Yesterday, i got an LG-E510 UNIVA. It is a prototype, is running Android 2.3.4.
About the specs, i can tell you that it has 800 mhz processor, 512 ram memory, a 5mpx camera with autofocus and HVGA screen,320X480, but far more better than P500
If you have any questions about this device just ask me

This should of been the orginal Optimus one.
It's gonna be released as LG Optimus Hub.
http://www.engadget.com/2011/09/13/lg-optimus-hub-officially-outed-as-successor-to-optimus-one-dyna/
If it's at least just "Optimus One with better camera" I'd say it'd be worth it for someone new to Android. Camera has always been O1's weak point.
The overclocked 800 MHz would be a marketing arsenal against the likes of Samsung Gio. Most people don't understand the difference between chipsets anyway. I do wonder if there's any noticeable difference compared to O1 overclocked to 787 MHz, and whether it can be pushed even further using custom ROM/kernel to >800 MHz.
Optimus HUB, previously known as Univa is a model that was designed to compete with Galaxy S5830 Ace, same processor, 5 mpx, but it has better ram memory, 512 against 384

Stock launcher looks nice, did anyone tested this file?
Any reply about the launcher?
Tried direct install but failed. About p510 does it have a plastic screen as in p500 or glass?
Sent from my LG-P500 using XDA App
it is E510, not P510. It has Gorilla Glass screen
Maybe it needs another file to be extracted for the launcher to work
hey everyone
i've bought E510 about a month ago and i'm still looking for a modified firmware.
does anybody know smth about making custom firmware? what do i need to make it?
i have one univa for one week , is look nice then optimus one (i have optimus one from may 2011) has biger camera but poor when you don't have enought light (my girlfriends galaxy fit with same 5mpx , makes more gods pictures), works nice . i succed to root , i'm waiting for custom roms and more ; no flash no video call camera , etc
how?
how did u rooted? i'm new in android apps. What app did u used?

If I sell my optimus I need only $20 more to buy a gio.

IMO, I would never/ever buy Samsung device again (I still have Samsung Galaxy), cause their support sucks big time. Unless the unit is from top of the line products.
Regarding Samsung Galaxy Gio:
- it has less internal memory then O1
- OS is 2.2 Froyo (don't know if it will get 2.3 version)
- 1350 mAh battery vs 1500 mAh from O1
- how much RAM it has is a real question (cause RAM is a must have)
In the end: I don't think that just because of a faster processor (800 MHz) is worth your money and an upgrade. Better wait till fall for other, maybe better upgrade.
So that's a big NO for this option (but in the end it's your choice).

There is no point in going for Gio, and selling Optimus one. Whats the major difference in both the phones except the Gio using chipset Qualcomm QCT MSM7227 which is overclocked at 800mhz. If you using custom rom, the least OC you get in optimus one is 729 which would be stable.
So does it make any difference of mere 70-100mhz. Offcourse, you can somewhat resolve the touchscreen bug issue through mik's kernel.
The rest screen resolution, camera etc are same. Its not worth to pay extra to get the Gio, when you have a working CM7/GB rom for optimus one.
PS: I am not sure about the ram in Gio, but if its <=512mb (optimus one), thn you are wasting your money.

Exactly, plus increase your budget to buy a better phone in future rather thn selling the current phone and buying a downgrade phone with no dev support yet, plus ram is still questionable.
Guys guys I don't really care about custom roms or kernel. Because gio don't need them. It has nothing to fix such as multitouch bug or touch bug 100% cpu or gpu or whatever.
And RAM problem? I don't think so, my friend own a galaxy ace and has no ram problem whatsoever he even use 5 homescreens with launcher pro.
And the battery thingy, I do not care less even if optimus had 1500mah than 1350mah(gio) or whatever bcos I still ended up charging it every single day and same goes with gio in the future too I guess. So the difference is not that big in battery imo.
And like I said, I don't plan to buy gio for an upgrade phone I just want it because it has no problem especially touch and multitouch problem which optimus had now, and the official gingerbread rom kernel still hasn't fixed this issue.
Oh and no gingerbread updates? I DONT really care. Although I read some news that ace, gio, fit and galaxy mini WILL get gb updates sometimes this year.

No one has said anything about low ram ? Did someone ? I said I was not able to find how much ram does it have.
You should buy Gio, as you have already made up your mind and wasting time of others saying Gio has this/that. You get the reviews which are not bais on the device they are using. Good luck with your purchase.
Less Ram often means less speed because ram need to get flushed more often to load new data. Just like when using a pc. It's getting less responsive.
It will be a good riddance from our community!! Go for it

Update your phone to gingerbread from the LG update and see if you still have problems. The Gio is probably the better off phone if your looking for just stock, but the hack community here is the best and you will regret not having such a great team of devs that work on the optimus.
Title says it all.
Hey guys, I come from optimus one forum and want to ask questions and some opinions here since I can't find galaxy Gio forum.
Is it worth it? I'm so fed up of my O1 has some problem with multitouch axis and touchbug. I know theres a kernel for it but its custom kernel and it still doesn't fixed it completely.
I want to sell my optimus to buy gio. Gio has nearly same specs with ace except camera, ignore that since I don't really care with the camera. Is it worth it?
I see ace and Gio plays some heavy games like Gameloft perfectly and smooth unlike my O1.
I wonder if your ace and gio can be overclocked from 800mhz to 900mhz+? because my O1 can from 600mhz to 865mhz maximum.
So tell me your opinion. I know that ace and Gio has less ram than O1. What problem has you encounter with such a low ram? Or there is no problem at all?
Thank you.

Edit, I'm referring to ace. Gio forum is not here.. I chose ace though because of the Turbo 800mhz.

Meh...gio has a smaller screen if i'm not mistaken. it's 3.2'' while ace has 3.5''. Also gio doesn't have a led flash, ace does have one and it's quite useful (for me at least). All in all there aren't many differences between the two but ace scores more points with a bigger screen, led flash and better design

I have both (well, my wife has the Gio, I have the Ace).
Ace has much better camera (Gio has no flash), and can take shots at night (though still not great photos).
Ace has slightly bigger screen, but same resolution - so Gio is actually slightly sharper screen.
Ace looks a bit nicer (IMO)
Ace seems more popular so there are more aftermarket accessories, and has a budding dev community (Gio has very little to no dev community AFAIK).
Gio appears to have less SOD's due to Wifi+sleeping issues (but I haven't tested the Gio too much in that regard)
Everything else seems to be the same (including the Wifi "Error" bug - at least with stock fw's on 2.2.1).
All other apps/etc/etc run similarly on Gio and Ace (with my limited testing).

Well i would never recommend you to shift from O1 to gio. Gio has no dev support !! O1 has a great dev support and i wonder why you want to shift. Gio also has low ram whereas your O1 has more ram and can be overclocked to perform well. If you were shifting to a better phone , then that would had made sence. But spending money and shifting to a completely same device with 0 dev support wont be a nice decision.

they both are snapdragon but they are different chipsets, the x10 runs ona qsd8250 and the play and other newer xperia models run the msm8255.
the msm8255 chipset is easier to overclock plus the newer model xperias have their bootloaders unlocked so better kernels can be implemented, the x10 has not got its bootloader unlocked but bypassed, so even though we have custom kernels we cannot fully take advantage of the hardware

newer gen processors have a much wider tolerance.
A desire z can be overclocked from 800mhz to 1.8ghz successfully
The highest our phones will ever be overclocked is around 1267mhz before they reboot automatically.
I wouldn't even suggest leaving it at this for very long, you'll fry your chip

1.dude it has 600 MHz processor overclock to 800 MHz No good we can't Oc it that much further.Other phones got 1ghz armv11 or other good ones which can be overclocked to 1.6 ghz and also official rom's dose not support armv6 that much.that's why we don't get official cm9 ...
2.most of new games like Nova 2 avatar are only made for Tegra or powervr. so gaming sucks.you can still play there ports for hvga screen with help chainfire
3d but game will lag like a hell
3.on every rom it is different maximum160mb to 100 MB free space only even if u close all processes

QualComm got a higher yield on a batch of wafers that were supposed be labelled at 600mhz. Instead they yielded on average 800mhz so they were rebranded with "T" for Turbo. Basically they overclocked for us, that's why there is so little range available for stable o/c-ing. My ZTE Blade has the non "T" chip and can o/c to ~778-800mhz stable, no more. Same processor, different serial number.

I thought SGA has got 800MHz processor (ARM11) and not 600
It's 800mhz... If you want epic gaming experience, go for Xplay or S2 Tegra. Ace is only for office work stuffs I believe and Dead Space lags lile hell on my Ace! :X managed to makr it run smooth with chainfire3D

You can choose what to believe, but the facts remain the same. The Ace has what QualCom have chosen to call a "Turbo" sim. It is factory clocked to its maximum - hence the poor experience people have with stability when they attempt to o/c.
It is the same MSM7227 ARM11v6 as my ZTE Blade (600) and ZTE Skate (800). The Blade is the most stable to overclock.

I heed your calls...lol.Back to topic now
Galaxy Ace has a 800Mhz,its not factory overclocked but SGSII is factory overclocked.SGA has an Armv6 processor, not Arm11 as somebody said..
From what you tell,I conclude that you want the best games running on your device,i suggest you not to buy it,simple...Why?The phone is actually nearly a year old, chances of getting an official ics update is 5%,ram is low and whatever thing you want to add...
Ok, so SGA is not an developers phone ? ok... im disappointed//
can you suggest me something phone with 1GHz cpu(can cortex a8 overclock to 1,2GHz and stay stable ?), 512mb ram, Adreno 205(or higher), with max 3,5" display 480x800 resolution ? I hate big screens, 3,5" is big for me but may pass xD

Xperia Ray is awesome phone but it is expensive in my country

DO NOT BUY A LG PHONE ANYMORE!!!
SO...
Single core can't really multitask. It is actually really fast switching between tasks. As you understand now, dual-core DOES . you can run two tasks at... err, don't know the words for that...
Anyway, that's how I thought it was.
Correct me.
And google would have given you the answer also! But I have the Samsung Galaxy nexus now, I would go for that instead of S Plus
Greets!
| ThunderG # Optimus One |
Nitrogen
AOSP, Theme Chooser on Nitrogen
| Maguro # Galaxy Nexus |
working on ICS theme

so the only pros for dual core is only for multi task?
i have been google and what i get is optimus 2x beaten galaxy s plus.
and the 2x is better thn s plus for gaming?
2 cores are needed only for heavy multitasking, one core is enough light multitasking...
My o2x running on miui both core activated by default 1.5ghz.
Nvidia Tegra chipset.
By default(stock rom) dual core run on one core. Until a certain extend if it can't handle when you play gta it will activate the another core.
Simply said. Just imagine a computer running same ghz. But one has quadral core and another dual core.

1.5ghz is overlock right?
but it is not every device able to overlock like yours right?
so after u used o2x what do u feel about it?
i mean the real performance,is tat lagfree and fast enough?
No lag at all. Even when i open gta and other games background theres no freeze.
Yup i overclock till 1.5 and not many android phone run that speed . Running on latest miui and swiftextreme kernel.
Try go to o2x forum.

Bam! All up in yo forums!
Anyhow, how's MIUI for the O2X running by now? My mom's/mum's has the latest stock ROM, and it sucks monkey balls, TBH.
How you doin'? Greetings from my GT-I9000!
but i found on xda galaxy s plus development there, every s plus is able to overlock until 1.8?
if so mean is not for multitasking rather go for s plus?
and o2x have a better gaming experience is it correct?

It has better gaming experience because of the tegra nvdia chip.
It all depends on you.

Dude its very simple
Galaxy runs single core at 1.4GHz
i.e 1x1.4 GHz
Whereas lg optimus 2x runs dual core at 1 GHz
i.e 2x1 Ghz + it has 8 core gpu

Actually another pro of the multi-core CPU is better temperature management - a dual-core 1GHz CPU produces less heat and respectively has more stability than a regular 2GHz. Otherwise the performance is a little better with a multi-core CPU.
