minecraft. nfs.nova . you will need to ownload modded data when wanting to run this because we have 340x480 pixels screen and those games are 480x800 except nfs shift this works great

1.dude it has 600 MHz processor overclock to 800 MHz No good we can't Oc it that much further.Other phones got 1ghz armv11 or other good ones which can be overclocked to 1.6 ghz and also official rom's dose not support armv6 that much.that's why we don't get official cm9 ...
2.most of new games like Nova 2 avatar are only made for Tegra or powervr. so gaming sucks.you can still play there ports for hvga screen with help chainfire
3d but game will lag like a hell
3.on every rom it is different maximum160mb to 100 MB free space only even if u close all processes
4
Dude it is not a developers device which has awesome features it is made for daily user ....have a nice day

Buy something different. This device will be a constant disappointment. It is virtually obsolete by recent standards. Not enough RAM, poor screen res, feeble battery, CPU maxed out by QualComm (600mhz but got 800mhz yield so described as 800 with the magical "T" in the name).
Did I mention that you could do better than buying an Ace. Perhaps a Nokia 3210?

QualComm got a higher yield on a batch of wafers that were supposed be labelled at 600mhz. Instead they yielded on average 800mhz so they were rebranded with "T" for Turbo. Basically they overclocked for us, that's why there is so little range available for stable o/c-ing. My ZTE Blade has the non "T" chip and can o/c to ~778-800mhz stable, no more. Same processor, different serial number.

I thought SGA has got 800MHz processor (ARM11) and not 600

It's 800mhz... If you want epic gaming experience, go for Xplay or S2 Tegra. Ace is only for office work stuffs I believe and Dead Space lags lile hell on my Ace! :X managed to makr it run smooth with chainfire3D

You can choose what to believe, but the facts remain the same. The Ace has what QualCom have chosen to call a "Turbo" sim. It is factory clocked to its maximum - hence the poor experience people have with stability when they attempt to o/c.
It is the same MSM7227 ARM11v6 as my ZTE Blade (600) and ZTE Skate (800). The Blade is the most stable to overclock.

I heed your calls...lol.Back to topic now
Galaxy Ace has a 800Mhz,its not factory overclocked but SGSII is factory overclocked.SGA has an Armv6 processor, not Arm11 as somebody said..
From what you tell,I conclude that you want the best games running on your device,i suggest you not to buy it,simple...Why?The phone is actually nearly a year old, chances of getting an official ics update is 5%,ram is low and whatever thing you want to add...

Ok, so SGA is not an developers phone ? ok... im disappointed//
can you suggest me something phone with 1GHz cpu(can cortex a8 overclock to 1,2GHz and stay stable ?), 512mb ram, Adreno 205(or higher), with max 3,5" display 480x800 resolution ? I hate big screens, 3,5" is big for me but may pass xD

Selling my Optimus to buy a galaxy Gio?

If I sell my optimus I need only $20 more to buy a gio.
I just want to buy it bcos it has no problem with multitouch and no touchbug. And a little bigger processor than optimus.
Worth it? If not why.
And dont tell me to buy other expensive phones like sgs2 and such

IMO, I would never/ever buy Samsung device again (I still have Samsung Galaxy), cause their support sucks big time. Unless the unit is from top of the line products.
Regarding Samsung Galaxy Gio:
- it has less internal memory then O1
- OS is 2.2 Froyo (don't know if it will get 2.3 version)
- 1350 mAh battery vs 1500 mAh from O1
- how much RAM it has is a real question (cause RAM is a must have)
In the end: I don't think that just because of a faster processor (800 MHz) is worth your money and an upgrade. Better wait till fall for other, maybe better upgrade.
So that's a big NO for this option (but in the end it's your choice).

There is no point in going for Gio, and selling Optimus one. Whats the major difference in both the phones except the Gio using chipset Qualcomm QCT MSM7227 which is overclocked at 800mhz. If you using custom rom, the least OC you get in optimus one is 729 which would be stable.
So does it make any difference of mere 70-100mhz. Offcourse, you can somewhat resolve the touchscreen bug issue through mik's kernel.
The rest screen resolution, camera etc are same. Its not worth to pay extra to get the Gio, when you have a working CM7/GB rom for optimus one.
PS: I am not sure about the ram in Gio, but if its <=512mb (optimus one), thn you are wasting your money.

Exactly, plus increase your budget to buy a better phone in future rather thn selling the current phone and buying a downgrade phone with no dev support yet, plus ram is still questionable.
Guys guys I don't really care about custom roms or kernel. Because gio don't need them. It has nothing to fix such as multitouch bug or touch bug 100% cpu or gpu or whatever.
And RAM problem? I don't think so, my friend own a galaxy ace and has no ram problem whatsoever he even use 5 homescreens with launcher pro.
And the battery thingy, I do not care less even if optimus had 1500mah than 1350mah(gio) or whatever bcos I still ended up charging it every single day and same goes with gio in the future too I guess. So the difference is not that big in battery imo.
And like I said, I don't plan to buy gio for an upgrade phone I just want it because it has no problem especially touch and multitouch problem which optimus had now, and the official gingerbread rom kernel still hasn't fixed this issue.
Oh and no gingerbread updates? I DONT really care. Although I read some news that ace, gio, fit and galaxy mini WILL get gb updates sometimes this year.

No one has said anything about low ram ? Did someone ? I said I was not able to find how much ram does it have.
You should buy Gio, as you have already made up your mind and wasting time of others saying Gio has this/that. You get the reviews which are not bais on the device they are using. Good luck with your purchase.
Less Ram often means less speed because ram need to get flushed more often to load new data. Just like when using a pc. It's getting less responsive.
It will be a good riddance from our community!! Go for it

Update your phone to gingerbread from the LG update and see if you still have problems. The Gio is probably the better off phone if your looking for just stock, but the hack community here is the best and you will regret not having such a great team of devs that work on the optimus.

they both are snapdragon but they are different chipsets, the x10 runs ona qsd8250 and the play and other newer xperia models run the msm8255.
the msm8255 chipset is easier to overclock plus the newer model xperias have their bootloaders unlocked so better kernels can be implemented, the x10 has not got its bootloader unlocked but bypassed, so even though we have custom kernels we cannot fully take advantage of the hardware

newer gen processors have a much wider tolerance.
A desire z can be overclocked from 800mhz to 1.8ghz successfully
The highest our phones will ever be overclocked is around 1267mhz before they reboot automatically.
I wouldn't even suggest leaving it at this for very long, you'll fry your chip

I have a Nexus One that is identical to X10 hardware-wise, including CPU. Its tolerance for OC is about the same. This generation of Snapdragon processor is not capable of huge OCing.

i mean im pretty happy with the x10i, wen i did get it, the best android phones out was this and the htc desire, n i was coming from a satio so i wanted summat with a decent camera. i was new to the android crowd but not to xda as my 3 previous phones were windows mobile ones. im happy cos its been updated to 2.3.3, i dnt do a huge amount of gaming as i know the x10 isnt really the best device for it, with its lack of multitouch and buggy dual touch. buh hey my upgrades due in 6 months and theres gna b some bad ass phones out by then so i dnt mind chilling with my trusty x10, and plus the devs do wonders wit this.
its not the same chipset...
x10 : Qualcomm QSD8250 Snapdragon chipset / GPU : Adreno 200 GPU
Arc : Qualcomm MSM8255 Snapdragon chipset / GPU : Adreno 205 GPU
now you can see....

I don't see what the need to overclock the phone is? Are you trying to run Call Of Duty on it? Ketut's OC kernel will take you to just over 900mhz. Any higher and your device will reboot.
If your SGA is slow, chances are you need to free up a little more RAM. Not everything is attributed to the CPU speed.
All it'll do is give you slightly better benchmark scores (who cares) and sap your battery quicker.
Hope that didn't sound too condescending btw =S

[Q] What is the best OC application?

Good evening guys. I started this thread because I'm a bit confused on what is the best OC for our SGA. Can someone help on this?
I´m using No-frills CPU Control. If it is the best, don´t know but it works and it is free

How high can you go? with respect to the stability.
The overclock capabilities depend on the kernel the app will just help you access the them
Ketuts Blackhawk kernel offers 902MHz overclock

I don´t use OC Kernel atm and i never tried out how high my Ace can go.
There are differents in how high u can go, try out at your own Risk
My phone gets into a boot loop if I overclock it to 883MHz, so be careful while overclocking. You might kill your ace

I will try to run No-frill CPU Control and post some feedback later or tomorrow. Thanks guys. Suggest different apps, for me to observe what is better for may SGA.
Samsung tests their processors to work stable at 800Mhz only.
Stable OC is a kind of lucky draw.... My Ace is stable max at 921-940Mhz......

I use setcpu i dont know if its the best but is enough for me
I feel lucky because i can get 960mhz stable with cm9, almost 1ghz.
But be careful and do it by your own risk as i said i feel "lucky"

I can do 960 but it force restarts when ever it gets hot.. so 940 is stable for me... guess you are lucky after all..

you can use setCPU application. You can buy it from market. But I prefer not to OC my phone as its drains battery and harmful too...
I'm using SetCPU (I love it since it allows to create profiles, like charging, screen off, etc...). I'm overclocked to ~860Mhz without any problems.

overclocking is too much desired.... but in a hot condition .... keep ur ace cool at normal MHZ of 800 else u can end up of excessive battery heating ,, retarding battery life...and may be a processor burn ....

wow...my ace kindda weird i thought or the kernel is the fault because when i using cm7 with ketut's kernel i can get 960 but in cm9 can only get 940..
both using set cpu with performance governor..

advice about bootloader/overclock

I want unlock bootloader on my ray mostly because of overclock and now wont to now how much is really performance improvement with overclock, in other words does it pay of the risk of loosing warranty?
thx
Unlock bootloader and overclock only if you aren't satisfied with your current performance ... It surely sounds sweet but You will surely void your warranty by overclocking.... If you are a new bie then I don't recommend overclocking because you may brick your device or worst burn your CPU... It is must to have enough basic android experience such as rooting first.

I am not new i have ray half year now and i was have x8 for 1 year before ray and it was have unlock bootloader, custom kernel, overclock and many other mods, i know android pretty well, i just want to ask someone who overclocked ray is he sadisfied with performance and does it worth
Okay so go ahead ... I don't have ray but walkman .. I've overclocked it and its worth it...

If u unlock ur bootloader it will void ur warranty. It will be good if u overclock it, like others say.
I've seen some reports about ppl burning their phones because of OC....
I would not really recommend it. 1GHz is enough for your phone being smooth.
But if you must OC it, be careful and don't overdo it. Don't OC to like 1.6GHz - 1.8GHz like some sorry dumbasses do.
After all It's better to have a working phone then a burned one
I'm not trying to be a smartass here, just trying to make you think twice before doing it
According to my experience 100mhz =+2 max fps u can use supercharger v6,built.prop n init.d tweaks these won't affect your phone's life

Yeah, already did all of that
Ive seen a guy in antutu. He is using stock 2.3.4 oc=2.0gGhz he got 6000+ score!! That's half of galaxy s3 running on stock
Sent from my LT15i using xda app-developers app
you can relock bootloader
i'm on 1.6 GHz on JellyBean on xperia mini and it is stable
I clocked my phone to 1.5Ghz and this is more than perfect. I don't have fps issues in games anymore (at least those I've played yet) and the phone doesn't seem to be too hot. It feels more like charging the battery, so I think there's no problem.
What abt nova 3 multiplayer??

I'm sure his phone enjoyed the 10 minutes of powerful life it had before going into service!
Whatis the max safe overclock freq to run nova 3 multiplayer smoothly??I've found that after installing chainfire I've seen huge graphic improvement which reduced performance but after uninstalling cf graphics were decreased but gaming was lot smoother, could you please tell me how dalvik.vm.heapsize works for games

It consumes more battery to gain more performance. Set it to higher if u want to play big games. But it will drain battery more

What about dalvil.VM?can I gain smoother performance by increasing it?
