[Q] Broke My GF's X10 mini Pro Need help - Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 Mini

The other day i thought it would be agood idea to root m Gf's X10 mini Pro. I had the best intentions and all seeing as how i have an EVO3D with Synergy rom and such. I explained to her that Rooting would be awesome and better battery life and faster speeds etc etc. When i came time to root i Used the one click root method which worked fine and all seeing as how i had recover flashed and all. The problems started when we tried to flash Ginger DX. I Wiped cache and Dalvik then proceeded to flash. I then got endless bootloops no matter what i tried. I tried diff roms but when i flashed an eclair based rom the phone finally booted but GAPPS were missing and market was gone. Well im a seasoned CM7 pro so i just found a GAPPS zip to flash with no luck. I tried to manually replace the vending.apk withing root explorer still not working. So i then used PC Companion to "repair" the device but now market is there but forcecloses. Now her phone is just slow as all get out and i tried explaining it happens but i think she got used to the Speed of my EVO3D. Any Ideas would be greatly appreciated on how to fix this issue without losing all her settings

Use SEUS to flash the phone back to stock and then root and put on cwm.
When installing the rom did you factory reset as I have noticed the most common cause of boot loop's is when people dont do a factory reset after the rom install. Some roms require this some dont.

So far so good did all that. Only prob is still Market keeps force closing.

Try removing the market or installing a higher version of the marketplace, their is one for the mini pro somewhere in here but I can't find where it is again sorry

Should just install if you open it fine. If not you will have to rename it to Vending.apk and then put it into the system/apps folder and overwrite the old one.

[Q] Force close on start up on 2.2 Rom

hello every one. i recently updated my xperia x10 to 2.2. Now I can't get to the xrecovery screen and i keep getting force close windows "The application Launcher (process com.android.launcher) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again" .... how do i fix this T-T someone please helpme 死ぬ。゜(゚´Д`゚)゜。ウァァァン
Forgot about the new rule
you require more posts to post in the rom section
however i recomend you read forums as opposed to flooding it with questions
i read the forms couldn't find the problem so i posted a question thanks yo...... and i have no help heh
I just started having the same issue.
The thread for freex10 now says in bold red letters that installing busybox + xrecovery would do this. I restored busybox using titanium backup, and this started after I rebooted.
I dont think i installed busy box and xrecovery. I think I deleted the FREE X10 BETA3 folder and gapps_1901_FreeX10.zip folder from my sd card??? I dont remember installing them ;(
Your best bet is going back to 2.1 and then flashing to beta 3 again. Remember this is a beta so its gonna have bugs and its not 100 percent stable yet.

Okay. How do you go back to 2.1 and flashing beta 3?

Use the flash tool.
I flashed my phone to 2.1 then reboot. It still boot as Freex10. It never went back to 2.1
You can only flash roms in ftf file format using flashtool. Also, when I had this problem, flashtool had trouble recognizing the phone as being in flash mode. I just kept repeating it till it finally recognized flash mode and flashed a stock SE 2.1
Then I installed xrecovery and flashed freeX10 beta3, reboot, flashed g-apps & fx10 theme. Deleted xrecovery/busybox from my titanium backup, and restored all my apps and data. Everything's been working as it should again, shut down and rebooted a few times w/o issue.
Thank you. It fixed my phone.
No problem, despite me cursing this phone when it bricked. Once i got everything working again, gotta admit, its still worth it to run the risks of using this beta, its just too much better than the alternative.
This z guy... why doesn't he have a job at SE? I'd just wished he got camera working 100%. SE really needs to offer a stock android experience, it'd save them money on software development, and win them more power user fans imo.

[Q] Foolish mistake

I had a nice working version of Global 2.1 update 1 for my Chinese X10i.
Then last night it updated with this little add on for Google maps which put me into the new 2.1.55 area. Because of that I lost my network connection, marketplace, root and it slowed the phone down to a crawl.
So I thought, hey, no problem I'll just reflash the Global 2.1. So I tried that...and it made things a ton worse.
I have tried several different times (with the new XDA Flash Tool) to get things up and working, but nothing seems to take at all.
Also, now my phone is sitting at 2.1 update 1. With a baseband of 2.1.54. It's on build number 2.1.a.0.435.
Again though, nothing is working. No network, marketplace or root access. I'm just happy that I backed up my Market apps and contacts a few days ago so they are safe on the SD card. Now I just need to get things working again.
So my question is could someone give me some ideas how to fix my problem?
And, if you could, please include detailed directions since I am not very skilled with flashing. Thanks.
You have to reflash your phone with for example SEUS the official sony ericsson update software. You can find it on the official homepage. When you search for a new firmware it will say there is no newer version but it can fix the original one. Try it.
Or you try the 2.2b4 from Z. Really great stable and all

Does the new 2.2 one still have the Timescape app? I thought you needed that app to use the 8.1MP camera.
Well, I just finished the restore using SEUS. Didn't get the network/wifi back.
Proceeded to use X10 Flash and flashed to the 2.1 Global Generic. Nothing.
Ran X10 Flash for the root, it said it was rooted, but when I actually used it, nothing changed and it's still unrooted.
It's so strange. I know I've got it to work before. I just can't fathom why it won't work this time.

cyanogenmod 7 problems

hi guys am currently running my hero on cyanogenmod 7 (nightly-hero)..i seem to be having some issues with it. firstly i hate the gallary they have used for this rom...is there a way i can delete that and install an alternative one..if so were do i download it from..
secondly when i click something on the screen it tends to go black...it can stay like this until i have to touch the screen again, or evan lock/unlock it....
also wanted to know if there are and tips and tricks to keep this rom going strong
thanks
Having this issue on the elelinux 2.3.3 rom aswell. Started one version 1.1 so i upgraded to 1.3 but still seeing it. Sometimes the keyboard dissapears from view but it is still there and you can type on it?
hi am now using elelinux-7.0.0-rc1-hero-v1.1.1 (android version 2.3.3) and it all seems to be fine now...yes when my keypad wasnt visible i could still type with it, found it hard tho...i just usaly reboot my phone if something isnt working..
Reflash the rom and make sure you do a full wipe. Data, Cache, and Dalvik cache before flashing.
Make sure to backup your apps with Titanium Backup. And do a nandroid aswell. Also restore apps with Titanium Backup from the app screen, don't do 'batch restore' as this might cause you problems.
It seems like all GingerBread ROMs like CM7, Ele's, Cronos' all suffers from occasionally black screen problem.
Someone from Cronos Forum suggested <check> the Lock home in memory under CM setting/performance. Also if using LauncherPro, <check> Keep im memory under Preferences/General Settings.
I had tried the aboved methods, so far so good using Cronos CG1.8.
^ So locking home memory under CM settings will help get rid of the invisible keyboard and random black screens?
For me it doesn't solve the problem....
Perdita2000
mm i havent had any blak screnes sicne i changed *touch wood* but my keyboard is still funky -_- lame
Isnt that memory leak already fixed?
flashing problem

Help Please! Market not working; Ongoing download on notification bar

Hey everyone,
I need serious help, I've been trying to fix this problem for a couple of days but I have had no luck at all. I have searched the X10 forum for countless hours but haven't found any solid solution. I realize that many people are having problems with the 2.1 market and I tried following the advices on those forums but none of them worked.
When I try to download something from the market, it would take forever to download and the process would add to the queue on the notification bar (see screenshot). Every time I access the market, it adds another process to the notification bar. Now I'm up to 50 ongoing process, and I have no idea why it's doing this.
So far, I've tried clearing the data and cache on the market, flashing the phone to a newer firmware (now I'm on Build number: 2.1.B.0.1, Baseband: 2.1.67), factory resetting the phone, opening Google Talk (some how its suppose to work) and even uninstalling the market from phone. The funny thing is even when the market is uninstalled, the downloading process still shows on the notification bar. I'm a noob when it comes to programming but I don't think the problem is from the market itself cuz even when I factory reset my phone and uninstalled the market, the process is still ongoing and displays on the notification bar.
Does anyone know how I can fix this? Maybe I'm suppose to delete a file or kill a command or something? Any help is greatly appreciated, I'm really desperate to get my X10 fixed. Everything works perfectly besides the market so I can't download or update any of my existing apps. Thanks in advance!
Find a new vending.zip and install with recovery. Have seen it posted plenty on the forums.

I've tried wiping the cache on the market and installing a new market via Root Explorer and the market still doesn't work. I can't find vending.zip anywhere so I can't flash my phone, any idea where i can find the vending.zip??
Try this through recovery

I tried flashing the NewMarket.zip through XRecovery 0.3 and it didn't work either it uninstalled my existing market and I can't install the market through Root Explorer either. It says "There is a problem parsing the package". Do I need a newer version of XRecovery?
I installed that version through recovery v.03 .
Sorry cant be of more help.
Which rom r u running
Sent from my X10i using XDA App
I'm running EWJET LauncherProEx V001ex ROM but when I flashed to the generic 2.1.B.0.1, the market still doesn't work. I'm thinking of flashing it back to 1.6 then to 2.1 again? Thanks for the help so far, really appreciate it but I seem to have no luck with this at all
Have u tried to format everything, and install the rom once again over the existing rom?
Yep, I've factory reset the phone, reset through XRecovery before installing the new ROM and the market still won't work

Phone Bricked? Help Please

So my touchscreen didnt want to work anymore yesterday.
I restarted my phone several times and it didnt work.
I then went into xrecovery and clicked 'fix permissions'
Then more stuff didnt want to work anymore
I reinstalled the update.zip file, did a factory reset etc
And now my phone is stuck at the boot with 'Sony Ericsson'
I had minicm6 v6 on my phone (u20i)
I tried reinstalling a backed up zip, but still nothing.
What now?
If you made a backup you should try to restore that.

Edit: Got my phone working, but now when I download something from the market, the phone restarts when it installs ?
Have you figured out the reason why it keeps restarting? If not I would try to reflash the rom.
Keep us updated.

Soooo now that everything is working fine again, would anyone like to recommend me a new ROM to install? Some CM7 mod/rom maybe?
Which ones are the best?
(I know there is a list with all of the roms available for my phone, just thought I'd ask)
Im not sure which roms are available for your phone but cm7 is always a good choice.

Check this one Its the best one and quite fast then other ROMS
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1415026
I had Stornmix V2 installed for a couple of weeks and it's fast and stable...I really like it.
The only problem I noticed is that when I'm using the video camera, the phone just freezes and I need to remove the battery to make it work again.
The problem with that one is the requirements:
Unlocked bootloader
Latest version of the nAa kernel
I dont know if I have those things on my phone.
And Im not too sure on how to put it on, if i have too
Update:
CyanoCream Sandwich is a bit slow to be honest. I think I will be looking for a new one to install
You will learn little by little by searching through the forums. Unlocking takes some time and some patience.
If you only follow the instructions step by step then you will get an unlocked bootloader and you can install any kernel. dont worry, you will get it soon.
my regards and good luck for that.
