Noob question. Restore to stock rooted (sprint) step by step. - HTC EVO 3D

So my question is this.
If I want to restore my sprint evo3d to stock rooted, how would I go about it? I know viper has the stock rooted images, which is what I would use, but I've read too much and have confused myself.
Step by step for a newbie please? Running CWM and 1.5 s-off unlocked. I ended up with this combination by somehow screwing up the rooting process and updating to 1.5 with the OTA. I want to cover my bases before I start flashing roms.
Thank you in advance!

If you have a nandroid back up should be able to restore from that back to stock if you made one at the time of obtaining recovery. There is a post in cdma development that walks you through a restore to totally stock back to s-on, if nothing else do that and start from scratch. No link I'm posting VIA xda app

Android force closing

Hello all, I just rooted my ota 2.3 EVO using the new revolutionary. I got root, awesome. Did a back up and them tried installing a new Rom. I tried the synergy rc1 and rc2 and after booting either one I get constant Android force closes. Any ideas or maybe the best roms?
I did a search first and found nothing so any help gets a big thank you.

Also, should I stay with 2.3 or use the ruu thing and go back to 2.2?
And yes, I am a root noob

Did you install an recovery menu? Isnt your evo running revoked root?
I rooted for first time yesterday using the new revolutionary s-off. During root I was prompted to install clock something and did so. I also made a backup that I have used successfully after the failed Rom. I assume I have recover because I can access it from the bootloader

No offense, but you haven't looked hard at all. Everything you need to know is stickied at the top of the Q&A thread. There's also a link the my sig.
OK well let me ask this then. . . What is the best way for me to do it. Is there any "oneclick"methods that would be really good for me to use?

The only method I'd ever recommend that is like a one click method is the Revolution method, but the drawback to that is undoing the S-Off is harder than the old jcase method. I can't recommend any "one click" based of the jcase method because there's too many floating around out there and unless you know the exploits being used, they're unreliable. The Revolution method is the current preferred method, and can be undone. It's preferred because it wipes not data and all you need to do after using it is to flash SuperUser and a recovery of your choice. I believe those can be found in the wiki unrEVOked maintains, as well as other places.
With the revolution method is it easy to boot in recovery and flash different roms or do you have to go through the whole rooting method everything? Thanks for your help by the way.

It's just as easy as anything else once you have clockworkmod flashed. Replacing the ROM doesn't remove S-Off or erase your recovery. I also like to point out that Revolution doesn't really root a device, it merely turns S-off so that you can root and flash a custom recovery. But once S-Off is done, the rest is as easy as flashing a couple files. Once you're to that point, you can wipe and flash ROMs all day. If you need some help or a walk through on some of this, PM me.
Just rooted my Thunderbolt after the Gingerbread update using Revolution method. Happy to say I am rooted with S-off. Have the latest recovery downloaded with my current Rom backed up. Next move is to download a custom Rom. I waited for this update for what reason I don't know to root my Thunderbolt.
What Rom to choose? There are so many. This is the fun part.

Rooted with 1.12 bootloader. Best way to s-off and flash MeanROM ICS.

Background info:
I remember rooting my wife's EVO 4G LTE and it installed superuser automatically and for some reason...I can't remember which method I used. Bootloader screen now says TAMPERED. I'm on 1.12 bootloader and 1.13 software.
But now, I would like to install MeanROM.
I really don't have the time to read through a lot of the forums like before since I have a 2yr old and newborn to help take care of.
Questions:
1) Do I need to unroot first or can I go into lazy panda as is? Would this be my best bet to s-off?
2) updating to latest OTA required?
3) what is the easiest way to get latest TWRP on the EVO 4G LTE?
THANKS!!

Just run lazy panda to get s-off. Download goo manager from play store to install TWRP. when you open goo, just tap the menu button then tap install open recovery.

Being on Hboot 1.12 you're ready to go. You don't have to flash the ROM and kernel separately-just download your ROM, boot into recovery and flash away. Don't forget to make a Nandroid. As far as TWRP, I used Goo Manager from the Play Store to install it, but you can also download it from the TWRP site. Newest version is 2.3.1, I believe. Also, for S-off you can run the Lazy Panda tool. I have yet to bother with it since I'm on Hboot 1.12 and can flash ROM's, kernels and radios without issue I'll get around to it eventually, though.

easiest way to get twrp is threw the goo manager app.. menu top right the hit install open recovery script.. mad easy! u have to have your bootloader unlocked to flash a recovery first.. then u can flash twrp.. i would run lazy panda.. read the instructions.. its easy also.. if your rooted now u can run lazy panda then when u s-off flash recovery
You guys rock! Thanks for the advice.
Lastly regarding lazy panda...please correct me if I'm wrong.
I was reading their website and it mentions about the stock RUU...if I'm only rooted, I guess I would already be considered running a stock rom since I haven't done anything else to the phone. I'm assuming I would not have to download and run the stock 1.13 RUU right?
I would just run lazy panda and presto, s-off?
Thanks again!

You're good with what you have. I've even heard of people with newer ROM's running Lazy Panda, but just go with what you have.

I'm begging...please help me get back to stock

I am ready to throw this Flyer under my truck, and since development here has petered out, I'm desperate. I have a Wifi Flyer with the 1.11 HBoot. I was able to "root" it, but I'm still S-On.
I'm currently on 3.61.1540.31
I have CWM installed, but I lost my stock backup.
What I want to do is get completely bone stock, not rooted and flash a stock RUU.
I don't care about downgrading. I just want my Flyer the way it used to be before I screwed it up.
PLEASE HELP
You can wipe data, cache, etc in the cwm and use the appropriate RUU.
Would a 3.55.1540 RUU work? Because that's the closest one I can find to mine.

Well, great news. I found a more specific downgrade guide on another site and found out I was having trouble extracting the ROM.zip from the RUU. Once I got that, it was all easy. Now rooted, running 2.3.4 and very happy. Not upgrading because I like GB Sense.

I am in the EXACT same boat as you. Glad to see your last post was as recent as this month.
Can you post how you got back to Gingerbread? Thanks.
