Why the g2x had SO MUCH better benchmark scores now before anyone says I'm *****ing know that I'm not I'm just asking why 2 phones with the same processors have such diff scores the photon NEVER goes over 60 fps in quadrant but the g2x gets like 100+ and out had 1080p video recording like wtf was motorola thinking sprints best motorola phone is average now a data now I'm just asking why cause that's really annoying but honestly this is just a question not *****ing again

because moto blur takes up more processing power ALSO the the photon has a 1ghz dual core and teh e4gt has a 1.2 ghz dual core. same ram i believe... but honestly until internet speeds are crazy increaded and battery life is maximized idc they all run around the same speed imo.
I think the G2X uses a different cpu/gpu.

I think it's software Optimization.
Its almost the same spec, and maybe our photon dont use its full power to conserve battery? Like shut down one core or something?
another viewpoint its the drivers.

Motorola has qHD resolution, so the gpu has to push 25% more pixels.

One of the things that throws of the result is the nonstandard resolution of the Photon. This odd screen size requires scaling be used to run most benchmarks full screen. On an unscaled Smartbench run the scores are much higher than scaled and are fairly close to the GSII NVidia.

There are three different CPU's used in the GSII (NVidia, Samsung, Qualcomm). The benchmarks vary with the Qualcomm being the bottom of the list.

I'm more interested in undervolting, and other tweaks, in order to keep performance at same clock speed.
However, once in Webtop mode, I'll take any overclocking and nitro my phone can withstand for relatively longer, continuous sessions.
Before we bust a nut, is it confirmed the package includes kernel source ?

I would not to much faith on benchmarks. Sure their cool to see. But in the end, through user interaction, screen scrolls, etc. It's all relative. This phone is a beast, it will still be for another year when it's replaced by the Galaxy S III and it will laugh at the iPhone 5.

Yeah but if you used quadrant pro and saw the score broken down you'd understand that it is just artificially inflated. There are multiple tweaks that boost quadrant benchmarks that do nothing noticeable otherwise.

Here is a link to a script that makes your phone smoother and less laggy. It works for all phones and is easy to install. Everything you need is here in this link. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=991276
Please tell others what settings worked best for you.

This script was not written for high end devices such as this one... Or anything with a dual core CPU... You might see a difference using a single core but this script was written for Ram management on lower end devices and devices with little ram... Using on a 1.5Ghz dualcore phone with 1GB of ram might imo be a waste of time...

Oh... and the lower end device cannot choose this option:
Code:
9. 1000HP Super UnLedded{6,12,200,225,250,300}
Since it's designed for high end devices too, I prevent low end devices from going too over the top

Actually, seems the specs are close to this device... so here you go...

It's nice to see that people still don't get the concept of "work smarter, not harder" because it makes it easier for those that do work smarter to get ahead.

Without sd card reader, half the ram, single core cpu, lower resolution screen, IMO the Atrix, hands down. Nexus S is a phone of the past.
Sure, it's a Google Phone, it gets everything first, but with CM7 picking up it's pace as it has been on the Atrix, I don't see why anyone would pick the Nexus S instead.
Go go Atrix!
Agreed the Atrix has better specs. The Nexus S is a nice phone, I've gotten to play with it because my cousin has one. The Atrix is superior hardware and the Nexus S will get the official Google updates first. If I was going to pick between the two, I would definitely choose my Atrix, but I would also be happy with a Nexus S. I've been running the newest CM weekly with fingerprint for about 48 hours and have been very impressed with it.
I have the atrix running cm7 oc'd 1.45 but I wanna trade for BNIB NEXUS S WHITE
Sent from my MB860 using XDA App
Depends on whether you are planning to load a custom ROM. If not, definitely don't use the Atrix. If yes, then the Atrix is probably better (unless you need a bigger screen or are a camera buff).
I love the atrix but, I have to ask....
If your going to buy a new phone why don't you get... "A new phone"?
Samsung Galaxy S II ?
Samsung Galaxy Nexus ?
and yes stock moto sucks.
Because I'm not buying I'm trading.. know anyone that wanna trade atrix for galaxy nexus. Yeah. Lol

Sent from my MB860 using XDA App
It's pretty fast anyway without overclock, but when you get over the 100 app mark then you notice that it doesn't perform as fast. But overclocking to 1.45Ghz makes a significant difference to the speed.
So oc'ing the ns however fast(I haven't looked it up)would be nearly the same speed I'm having now on my atrix?? Or will I noticelag on the ns

You will notice lag. No matter how much you OC it, it won't be as smooth as the Atrix.
That's not saying the NS is a bad phone, but the only time I've used mine since i've had my Atrix is when the ICS SDK port was released.
I would go with the Nexus S. The probable lack of Sammich on the Atrix is a deal breaker for me.
Anyone using this? I like it better than Antutu. The only thing my phone doesn't kill it at is the complex 3D. Guess I'll have to start looking into tweaks to get that score up if at all possible. I saw in the comments section on the Play Store that users of several different phones were complaining about low scores in that test.
Sent from my ADR6425LVW using xda app-developers app
Benchmarks aren't very accurate. They run like a normal app so they get limited by the OS in what they can do. A true benchmark would be a separate ROM that only does benchmarking. That way it could use all system resources to test the hardware.

We're always going to have relatively poor graphics performance due to our 1280x720 screens and last-gen Adreno 220 that was made to handle qHD (0.52 million pixels) not 1280x720 (0.92 million pixels)
