I constantly see reviewers refer to this phone as the fastest one available, but a number of benchmarks showed it being beaten by the LG Optimus 2x..how does that work? Even better GPU?

I would not to much faith on benchmarks. Sure their cool to see. But in the end, through user interaction, screen scrolls, etc. It's all relative. This phone is a beast, it will still be for another year when it's replaced by the Galaxy S III and it will laugh at the iPhone 5.

Yeah but if you used quadrant pro and saw the score broken down you'd understand that it is just artificially inflated. There are multiple tweaks that boost quadrant benchmarks that do nothing noticeable otherwise.

That's good I underclock my nexus or run oxygen rom if Im going to have a busy day out where I won't be near a charger but everybody knows the real competition comes from the overclock and test scores

I'm more interested in undervolting, and other tweaks, in order to keep performance at same clock speed.
However, once in Webtop mode, I'll take any overclocking and nitro my phone can withstand for relatively longer, continuous sessions.
Before we bust a nut, is it confirmed the package includes kernel source ?

My Iconia tab has the same processor and can overclock to 1,646,000. I run it at 1,400,000 and it's completely stable.

Why the g2x had SO MUCH better benchmark scores now before anyone says I'm *****ing know that I'm not I'm just asking why 2 phones with the same processors have such diff scores the photon NEVER goes over 60 fps in quadrant but the g2x gets like 100+ and out had 1080p video recording like wtf was motorola thinking sprints best motorola phone is average now a data now I'm just asking why cause that's really annoying but honestly this is just a question not *****ing again

because moto blur takes up more processing power ALSO the the photon has a 1ghz dual core and teh e4gt has a 1.2 ghz dual core. same ram i believe... but honestly until internet speeds are crazy increaded and battery life is maximized idc they all run around the same speed imo.
I think the G2X uses a different cpu/gpu.

I think it's software Optimization.

One of the things that throws of the result is the nonstandard resolution of the Photon. This odd screen size requires scaling be used to run most benchmarks full screen. On an unscaled Smartbench run the scores are much higher than scaled and are fairly close to the GSII NVidia.

There are three different CPU's used in the GSII (NVidia, Samsung, Qualcomm). The benchmarks vary with the Qualcomm being the bottom of the list.
I used to be getting 3200-3600 on my gs 2 but ever since I flashed unnamed 1.3 and icscrewed 1.1 I've been getting score ranging from 2800-3200
Is this suppose to happen?

The numbers mean absolutely nothing as far as how the phone runs. If they go up or down doesn't mean anything unless you like showing off your epeen....
Benchmarks don't mean that much (except large differences 1000+). How quick does the phone respond? Does it feel fast? If so great. If not, keep working.

really? you should be getting around 9,999,999 if you're using quadrant. thats about how accurate that app is. its a worthless piece of junk that you shouldn't use to measure the speed of your device dude. just use your phone and weight it out from real-world user experience.

im selling my gnex and buying a new lte note, and here are my questions.
im in canada and i know there are three carriers ROBELUS with the same notes, and they are supposedly identical. is there a PREFERENCE to which carrier's phone i should get？
COMING from the gnex, it had many problems related to screen banding, bad colors, usb charging,power button issues.
are there any known things that i shoud check for when purchasing the phone？

First of all,: have seen my brothers galaxy nexus and I haven't notice any of the problems you mentioned.
Secondly, No Galaxy Note doesn't have much of hardware issue other than some people complaining about black corners.
Just bad part with the Note for now is Gingerbread and Touxhwiz.
And after a week of use, with perfect size of device you won't even like to look at any small devices.

A lot of people seem to have varying problems on xda. Some people complain of laggy screens and low quadrant scores, so you might want to run a quadrant and make sure it exceeds 3000.
Another issue is the black clipping/crush some people are experiencing with dark wallpapers and videos. Run this YouTube video to test for this problem:

I actually have little to no lag at all using saurom with ADWex and overclocked at 1.83ghz. I just wanted to let him know what some users are complaining about on stock right out of the box.

Black crush is when very dark images transitioning to lighter darks or other colors are very blocky. It is very notable on the devices that have it, I'm fortunate enough to not have it
Just run that YouTube video and see if it runs clear and smooth or very blocky.

Odin is very simple to use. And if you look in the development section there was a flash counter reset for ATT notes just posted today. I'm sure they'll have all the Canadian versions up before the day is over.

Hey everyone had a question about the jb update. Sense i updated ive ran benchmarks and im getting results for native score the same or less than the gs3. Before on ics it ran much higher than the gs3. Can anyone tell me why this is or if anyone else is having the same results im using cf bench btw. Also my battery percentage is going up and down on its own without charging jumping multiple percentages.
Are benchmarks really a big deal? The phone flies and is perfectly smooth

Like tdnick said, its just a benchmark. The phone runs much smoother than before so I wouldn't take it too seriously.

I may be wrong but I think the default I/O is fiops. Change to deadline for that placebo effect of high benchmark scores. (Or the other way around. I have no idea what fiops is lol.) :3

I just felt it was running much slower than ics and thats what made me check the benchmarks and they were way down. Im going to factory reset and then reinstall jb. Lol well see how this goes.
