Hallo!
I'm new to smartphones and android system. I recently updated my p500 to 2.3.3(official Baltic update), and started to experience a problem - about once a day phone becomes unresponsive - black screen, doesn't respond to buttons, PC doesn't recognize it. I can revive it by disconnecting/connecting the battery. While it's not responding, it is using a lot of battery juice ~ 15%/h. I thought that some of the apps from market were the cause of the problem, so I made a factory reset, didn't install anything from market, but still, after 14h of working, the phone become unresponsive again. Has anyone experienced this kind of problem and/or has a solution to it?
Thank you!

I flashed cm7 6.5.5, but found a new problem - GSM doesn't work, I tried the GSM fix, but still can't connect to my GSM operator. The phone finds GSM services, but when I try to connect, it says "Your SIM card does not allow a connection to this network". There are 3 GSM operators in Latvia, I can't connect to any of them. I installed francos kernel, but the problem still persists. Is there solution to this? My SIM is fairly old ~ 10-12 years

I did a recovery, it works fine on original 2.3.3, so it should not be a faulty SIM :/

It seems that i found a cure for this issue - I underclocked the cpu to 480mhz, and the phone has worked for 240h, when I tried to set the stock 600nhz, it froze again in a couple of hours.
Considering that everything was ok with stock 2.2.1, can someone recommend a good 2.2.1 or 2.2.2 ROM?

i have a problem on my xperia mini pro.
i dont know whats wrong.
when i lock my phone, and i want to turn it on back, it is turn off and suddenly the S.E logo appears.
seems like rebooting back.
sometimes when i make the screen timeout for 30minutes, it will also turn off by itself and restart back by itself. sometimes it goes off and no reboot back.
i have search on XDA and found that few problems like mine.
i try few solution like take out the battery, uninstall apps which maybe make my phone turn off.
i also reflash my phone to 2.3.3 and also reflash back to 2.3.4. it just goes the same. my warranty have void as i have unlock my bootloader.
i just dont root my phone yet as i think rooting my phone doesnt help this problem.
someone can help me? i really miss my phone like the old days to tweeting and facebooking without any turn off and reboot by its own.
Did you try a factory reset? This may fix your problem. But rooting could possible help.....

Does it make any difference if you start the phone with the charger plugged into it?

I bought the phone over from bobo. And yes it does make a difference.
This problem does not occur whenever the phone is plugged in. However while running on battery, if I leave it be and once it goes into standby, it would not turn on again.
Seems to me it went into sleep of death.
At the moment, I have no idea how to fix it. But I've found a workaround by keeping the CPU on when the display is off by using wake_lock. However this workaround is a little battery consuming.

bro i have this problem before, what im doing before was playing music on mute for it not to turn off NOT until 0.62 FW came out and the problem was solved, it doesnt turn off on stock 0.62 fw and stock 2.3.4 but the screen when locked automatically turns on and off multiple times, its annoying..really so i decided to unlock my bootloader, flashed rooted 0.62 FW from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1440161, turning on and off phone and screen solved, flashed its respective ROM http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1373435, and now my phone is so stable and having no more problem.
i think the only problem i noticed just now is the back button (its not really a button) and the option button's light is turning off and on while screen is on. but thats better than your phone turns on and off or your screen.
i hope this helps.

I've done this too. Flashed the same kernel, and the same ROM as you did. But the problem still prevails in my phone. I still have to keep control of wake_lock to prevent CPU from sleeping while the display is off.
Btw, when I flashed the kernel, under my "About" in the settings, it still says .58 instead of .62.

you mean in the Settings>About Phone> in the build number it should have HYBROM V9 by boof not the kernel name like .58 or .62 if you flashed the kernel and rom correctly.
disable lockscreen
Try to disable your lockscreen in the settings menu. Maybe that helps
My phone have the very same problem.

Hi ,
I am also facing the issue with phone from last week, I tried without memory card , without SIM and even change them to, I though it was software issue so I reloaded it from Sony Tool but still the same issue, cant use my phone at all until or unless I plug it on raw power. Its working fine on charging mode but with Battery its not at all working. Not sure whats wrong with it.
Could you please guide me on it, what I need to do , is it hardware issue? or related with software?
Already wiped and restore the phone as well.
Tried battery replacement as well but its not at all working.

Hi XDA, I got a big weird problem on my Xperia S. The problem occurs when I flash KA SSpeed Kernel v5. Here's the details of my problem:
Problem 1, First, while I'm using my phone, games, browsing, messaging or anything, my phone freezes. I restart my phone by pressing power and holding it together with volume up button. It restarted but after 3-5 minutes (doing nothing) it freezes again. I flashed another Kernel to see if the problem is with the Kernel but after flashing another Kernel (XSX, Advanced Stock, KA SSpeed 3, 3.1, 4.0) the problem still exists. So I decided to Flash back to stock to see if the problem is in my ROM (Mooded ICS by Chaos). After Flashing back to the Stock ROM problem 2 exist
Problem 2, It still freezes, I restart again, problem still there. I read some solutions in sony mobile forums site. They said that it is a sim card problem. the phone freezes after 3-5 minutes even though you're not doing anything. So I changed my sim card and yes the problem was gone. After 4-5 hours no freeze. I decided to put back my first sim card (it's a postpaid so I need that badly) after putting back my simcard, I waited 3-5 minutes, 10 minutes, an hour, up to night time. It didn't freeze, in short there is no problem at all, but then problem 3 occurs.
Problem 3, I charged my phone overnight, as I woke up, I can't turn on my phone, I restart it again manually (power button + volume up). It turned on, then after 3-5 minutes, doing nothing, it reboots sometimes it freezes, like my previous problem. now the weirdest problem is Problem 4.
Problem 4, everytime I use my phone, voice call, games, browsing, it didn't freeze or reboot, but when the phone is in idle mode, like charging, doing nothing it freezes, but sometimes (every afternoon, from 3pm to night time) it didn't freeze or reboot.
please help me. I don't know if these problems exist to your phones. I really need help. thank you!
Use another kernel.

Hi,
I have a weird problem with my Galaxy S.
Every week or so my phone starts going mad,all apps go FC and on reset it starts boot-looping.
That problem is only solved by factory reseting(every time).
I tried everything, tried changing the ROM(had PilotX then MIUI GB now MIUI ICS),
tried wiping SD card, flashing GB to 2.3.6(had 2.3.7) and installing everything all over but nothing works!!
Help?
Thanks in advance,Snir.

No OC what so ever, and the phone didn't go mad at some point,it is going like this every week or two,and when i data wipe/factory reset it goes back to normal.
Thing is,i didnt do anything extensive with my phone, and tried to format SD,format to GB,put different kernels, different ROMs,nothing works!
i think your proccesor has hung up its only functioning as desired when u have soft formatted ie clean less apps data etc but with due time when it increases it isnt able to handle....i dont find any other reason for the behaviour as all the other choice have been ruled out....how old is your phone"?
Hi guys!
I've got a Xpera Sola a couple of months ago, and it keeps random freezing and rebooting quite frequently,
at a time base of a dozen times a day, which make it unusable.
I've been waiting for new ROMs and hoping for a cure, stock 2.3s, stock 4.0s, and cm9s, but none of them works.
The only difference between stock and cm is stock do HANG/REBOOT but cm just HANG and drain battery.
While lost faith in new ROMs, I tried to figure it out myself, and here is what I found:
No reboot/hang in airplane mode (so it's the radio?)
No reboot/hand when ADB is pluged (so BAD news!)
My configuration:
Bare ROM, no additional apps.
GSM networked SIM card / no SIM card, makes no difference (I have no WCDMA card so can't test)
Wifi / no Wifi, makes no difference (maybe hang more often with Wifi on, but I'm not sure)
SD card (2G) / SD card (4g) / SD card (16G) / NO SD card, makes no difference
CPU governors, no difference
wake lock, wifi lock, accquired with terminal in cm9, still hang
Any feedbacks are welcome, need your help!
Thank you very much!
some updates:
the problem still there, tried cm to 213 and .54 Italy/China and munjeni's MIUI.
getting hung when using the phone only happened in stock or stock based roms, not in CMs.
stock based roms seemed to have a watch dog to reboot the phone in a 2-5 min interval, but not sure whether it's in kernel or in rom.
guess the hang happened when awaking from deep sleep mode, and no deep sleep no hang (such like when ADB is active and deepsleep disabled).
forget one thing:
witnessed one hang issue in air plane mode.
I assume you are on stock ROM, this is not normal. Did you try repairing with PCC?

CM12.1 (based on Android 5.1.1) should be the latest CM (or LOS) that Xperia Mini Pro support.
Ok, thanks!
Do you know where to download it, and if there is some step by step instruction somewhere on the internet how to install it.

How to install LineageOS 14.1 Rom (Android 7.1.2)
1. External memory card is required to install the rom (Ext4 only 1 partition). At least around 4gb, must be very fast (Class 10 u3), and should be at around 8gb if possible. All apps, data, etc will go here.
2. Flash boot.img (In fastboot mode).
3. Go wipe, swipe. Go advanced wipe and wipe system.
4. Go advanced --> sideload. Connect USB and type 'adb sideload rom-14.1-xxx.zip' & after type 'adb sideload opengapps-7.1-xxx.zip'
5. Reboot to system. Ignore any warning message.

Did you take a look inside lineage-14.1-20170514-UNOFFICIAL-LegacyXperia-mango.zip ?
Because I didn't test it yet: Are there any issues with this build (camera working)?
Just tried lineage-14.1-20170514-UNOFFICIAL-LegacyXperia-mango.zip and the installation overall was like described by Tromponauta.
The problem is that the touch screen is not responding within LOS. Everything else works (keyboard, camera etc.), just the touch screen seems to have problems. It works just fine inside TWRP and booting LOS for the first time it was responding for the first moment and then stopped (no response, like a frozen OS but the hardware keys still work). I've rebooted back inside TWRP to confirm the touch screen is working and it is.
Any ideas?

Its probably your phone hardware problem. I'm running CM14.1 on two mango phones.. without gapps and everything works .. well.. one of them have occasional freeze problems I'm struggling to diagnose, so removing battery is required from time to time to reboot it.
Anyway sim card works fine on both phones with normal battery use.
ROM is quite fast (maybe faster then CM11) but I'm using A1 sd card and no gapps ..
btw I also had some freezing problems on this phone when on other ROMs so maybe its hardware..
Its certainly worth giving CM14.1 try (as per other post earlier on)

I've experienced this as well but I doubt this has something to do with the hardware (except the fact that the hardware is maybe just too outdated to handle a current LOS and current apps).

On main mango I get between 12-18 hours depending on use.. (its mostly light though.. messengers, emails, phone calls, etc not much browsing) so battery drain is same ish as other ROMs I tried..
2nd mango with CM14.1 works as alarm clock and sometimes squeezebox controller. mostly on airplane mode which gives over week battery life.. (no sim on that one)
3rd mango is on stock gingerbread converted into dashcam .. I get about 6-7 hours battery with HD recording on Daily Voyager (had to use tasker to turn off screen during recording though)
Got two more of those little buggers but sadly as spares now.. (broken screens)
Everyone tells me I'm mad to still use mini pro.. but I really like small phone with great keyboard.. (by today standards I should say tiny phone lol)
Once a while I consider buying new phone but haven't actually done it yet lol
Yes! +1 Thank you devs for all your work on xperia phones!.. Cheers
p.s I'm still hopeful for Android Go one day
Awesome... well I sitll doubt that my battery drain has something to do with the hardware. As far as I remember the battery life was already not very good when I was using the original Android for 2-3 years. My current battery is now at least 5 years old so I think the current battery capacity is quite okay. Before I had a Motorola xt894 with a Cyanogen Mod experimental/snapshot and the battery life was horrible in comparison to the standard Rom so I think it has something to do with a not optimized LOS.
btw: Did you experience any Wifi issues connecting to public Hotspots? Sometimes I have the problem that I can not connect to public hotspots that worked yesterday. The Wifi list says "saved" to the specific Hotspot after I tried to connect (insteadt of "connected").

I've experienced this as well but I doubt this has something to do with the hardware (except the fact that the hardware is maybe just too outdated to handle a current LOS and current apps).
Is there really no effect on battery drain if the ROM was not optimized for certain country GSM settings?
Yes, the sk17i is still a great peace of hardware for me used as "walkman" and for instant messaging. I'm very thankful that the sk17i is still suppoprted, thanks to all devs involved!

hmm maybe you could try battery calibration? or "new" battery.. those are very cheap. seriously no excessive drain here on LOS.. managed 19hours and 10% left today..
no experience of public wifi problems.. but I don't really use them tbh
My main problem with LOS is random freeze when display wont wake up (even when notification is working and background menu lights).. sometimes phone is OK for few days but other times it can freeze few times a day. I keep changing settings in kernel auditor but cannot find out cause yet.. for a while I had suspicion freezes are more likely when using build in browser.. but maybe it was just coincidence

My sk17i lists errors like
System UI has stopped
com.android.phone has stopped
Settings has stopped
and is always rebooting / in a boot loop. I wanted to reinstall LOS but somehow my whole system seems to be read only. I've already tried https://forum.xda-developers.com/droid-turbo/help/accidently-selected-read-twrp-how-undo-t3312533 but everytime I access TWRP after a reboot "Mount" -> "Mount system partition read only" is checked. I tried to reinstall TWRP with
Code:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
but this doesn't affect the checked "Mount system partition read only" setting so I think TWRP is not reinstalled. Any idea how to fix this? In the end I just want to start over with a new installed LOS.

Hmm not sure what to suggest as haven't experienced this. In my case everything went smooth on 3 different phones (sk17i) when following instructions from other post:
https://basketbuild.com/devs/AdrianD...LineageOS-14.x
Ignore any warning message.

maybe sd card is corrupted, have you tried different one..?
Try wipe plus format everything and try again?
So does sideload completes fine and then you got error and bootloop?
Out of interest what ROM have you had before?
