I saw these really nice looking icons the other day, and tried putting them on my phone. Notice the size. Here's a screenshot of an iPhone with them:

So, I tried putting them on my Android phone. It didn't work too well. The sizing of the icons is extremely off. Here's a screenshot:
On the far left, I tried changing the icon by just using the "Replace" feature of GO Launcher.
In the middle, I used Desktop VisulizeR(1x1).
On the right, I used Desktop VisualizeR(1x1 SS).
Obviously, they don't look too good. My question is, how can I make them look regular? The iPhone icons obviously use a different size, but I'm sure there's some way to change them on the Android. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Use iPhone 4 icons. Higher resolution.
- iPhone (3G/3GS) = 57x57
- iPhone 4 = 114x114
- iPad = 72x72
So if you use iPhone 4 icons you'll have more pixels to stretch and the quality won't drop as fast as the 57x57 icons.

Alright, thanks. I'll try that and see how it works.

I'm running 2.1 Generic Rooted. I also use FolderOrganizer with the Widgets/Containers.
I've noticed running the Sony 2.1 Home Screen that the transpararent background of the FolderOrganizer containers looks A LOT better than it use to.
However I prefer to run LauncherPro. When I use LauncherPro though the gradients look like they use too on 1.6.
Has anyone noticed this?

No dice. I did notice though that when I flip through home screens the gradient is "Sony Home Screen Quality" for a second then when the page is finished "bouncing" the gradient turns back to the ugly LauncherPro style.
Quite odd. Now that I've noticed it, it bugs me.
EDIT: Ok with the high quality scrolling on it looks normal anytime I'm scrolling pages. So I have HQ but only when scrolling then it is low quality when you release the screen. What the hell.
I was wondering if someone could please help explain to me how to go about resizing my desktop icons? I've downloaded some GO themes that include larger icons and are easy to replace--the icons were big enough to cover the icon label text. I don't have the experience to mess with rooting, and would like to have the "cubed icons" I found big enough as well, but when I insert them using Astro file manager, they're small and don't cover the icon labels. I am new to Android and am using GO Launcher EX. I have known for a couple of years that the best work and insight comes from XDA. Thanks.

ADWLauncher has the setting for size of icons, and a bunch of other settings to change the way they look.
I'll look into that launcher, but I would like to maintain GO Launcher EX...if it's possible.

Ideally, I'd like to have my cubed icons the size of the Firefox icon in the pic...again remaining with GO Launcher EX.

So for anyone who might be looking for this same thing, Desktop Visualizer is the best option I've found. It can take a little time to go through all of the icons and set them up, but ultimately it will give you the ability to size icons and route them to whatever shortcut/app you'd like. You could even get rid of app labals as well, if you wanted to. Here's what I was able to do.

I stumbled on this "clock" browsing the interwebs while I was getting whooped in fantasy football today. It is not actually a clock but a "typographic live wallpaper". What I like about it is that it is simple and at the same time displaying lots of info. You can customize what info you want to see. You can also set the background to slideshow displaying pics from your gallery.
Here's a few screenshots that I took with the slideshow delay set at 30 seconds.

In case you are wondering about the theme I applied to my phone it is the wonderfully simplistic X-Power+ Black for any KH7 ROM! [1.1.1] ported by jivy26
You can find it here

Been runnin this live wallpaper for a day now and have experienced no discernible battery drain. Been off the charger for 9 hours with moderate usage and battery is at 66%.
Ive actually had this on my Captivate and have had it on my GS2. I like it, its different.
It's too big... and by that I mean it only allows me to use the bottom row of widget space without covering up any of the clock. The second to bottom row starts to cover the year. If it was a big shorter vertically then I'd like it. Perhaps there is something in settings in the full version... I dunno.
Love this. keeps my home screen looking nice and clean.thanks for posting.

Crappy intro, what can I say...new clock app, not my design, just found it on the Web and thought it would be cool if I could get it on my phone.
This clock is special (the real version), the hands are in fact batteries and the whole thing moves.

Looks like a broken "app group" icon (which got covered by the widget).
At least my N7 paired to the Q has no such icon.

My Nexus 7 doesn't have it either, it's just on my Galaxy Nexus....
Well it was until I rebooted, now it's not there anymore. It was similar to the "app folder" icon, except it has a blue outline (like the LED ring on the Nexus Q)... and when you are in the screen to place a widget, the blue outline swirled around the dark circle (like the nexus q does..) I'm pretty sure it's wasn't some kind of broken UI element.. I'm on a completely stock rom, JRO03C.
*shrugs* I tried pairing two GNs to the Q (one is 4.1, other 4.1.1, both stock) neither showed the icon.
