Hello friends of xda. I own a Samsung Galaxy S2. Phone was perfect till today. I don't know why but the phone messed up today. It opens the voice control automatically, reacts as if it was connected to an usb ,even if its not. Tried to flash with odin but after 10min of normality the problem persists again. I took perfect care of my phone.Never felt from my hands or got wet with water.
Please somebodz help as i don't know what to do.
Thanks and keep the good work going
cheers friend
i guess you could always go into settings and see if you could disable it.Try a factory re-set.If all else fails then root your phone and freeze or delete the app with titaniun so it wont work anymore.

Micro usb socket got dirt in it?
Thanks for your help. I fixed it by wiping the dalvik cache and re-flashing another rom.
All is fine now. Thanks for your help. You are the best guys. keep the good work going.

Hi Guys -I have been using this ROM on my HTC HD2 which was an early Chrimbo present
Energy.Leo.29005.Sense2.5.Cookie.Dec.13 it has been brilliant until today
Today the back case was a bit loose, and the battery fell out, failed to turn back on, other than to get to the ENERGIZE boot logo.
I have connected to PC and it is still the same
I did a task 29 to try to clear the phone, and tried a new ROM, but still ENERGIZE logo then it turns off and back again
Does anyone have any ideas, as I am a bit gutted, I have used severaly different Roms before which have all been fine
Have I bricked it?
Thanks in advance everyone x
as long as you can flash ROMs it's not bricked. Try this:
1) keep battery out for 10 minutes
2) make sure the pins on the back of the phone that connect to the battery are not bent and that they are connecting. I had this issue forcing reset loops and was tearing my hair out trying to figure it out.
3) Once battery is in with all connections, run task29 again. Flash that Energy ROM (by far my favorite ROM ever btw, but I like the sencity flavor).
Reset and it should work. If this doesn't work flash the stock 3.14 ROM and see where that gets you.
Thanks so so much orangekid........only just managed to try this as I was working all day, and I think it was indeed the battery pins
There was one bent up a tiny bit-I am all back up and running now and appreciate your reply so much-would never have thought to try this
Merry Christmas x
thanx so much,i was having the same prob n was so devastated.thanx much again

It's possible that it's a software problem, but I strongly suspect this is a hardware issue. Sorry to say that RTM may be the only answer!

well actually this is a big mistake that samsung made .. if that's true
im in truble couse i ordered this device from spain and i live in saudi arabia ,, its gonna be so hard to return it back there :l

Like I said, you can't rule out a software issue, but it sounds more likely that there's a physical problem with the USB port and it's making the phone think it's in car mode every now and then. If it were a software issue then I think we'd see a LOT more people with the issue. When you think about how many SGS2 users there are on XDA, and compare that to the number of people who have had this issue you'll see that it's a tiny number really. That definitely sounds more like a manufacturing issue than a software one.

i agree with you actually .. it seems like a hardware problem .. not a software one cuz i literally changed everything on the device .. kernel, rom everything .. but hardware !
let's wish that it's a software problem even if we were 99% sure that it's a hardwore issue ...
thanks again ..

I have the same problem with my Galaxy S2. It started like a week ago or something. I tried to upgrade the firmware to the latest, but it seemed like that only made it worse. I haven't rooted my phone, so I'm obviously using the stock rom. Any tips to what I should try to do? It's a really annoying problem.

Car mode is triggered by a certain resistance value between pin 4 and 5 on micro usb plug, either dirt, oil, sweat on exterior part of it (most likely) or some condensation/oil on the inner part- where it's soldered to the the mainboard.
My advice would be to take out the battery and try to clean it with small brush, contact spray ( make sure it dries out before attaching the battery)....or go to a phone repair center to have the plug cleaned...
it should do the trick
I tried cleaning it with contact spray but it didn't work. Haven't tried using a small brush yet, cause I haven't got one. Any other suggestions or should I just explain the problem to Samsung and send it in?
Edit: Nevermind. I noticed that car mode wasn't popping up later in the evening. I restarted my phone and now it seems to be working perfectly. Thanks for the help!
I have the same problem everytime i use the car charger...but restarting the phone solves this problem atleast till I plug in the car charger.
Same for me. It really bugs me. I'm thinking of RMA.
the problem still on my phone .. i changed everything on my phone .. seems like it's a hardware problem with some devices .. like mine and yours
and i hardly think that we can solve it by our selves .. we need to send it back to samsung and see what they say!

In your 'Voice Talk' settings, under 'Wake Up Command', you may have 'Wake up command & 'Only on while charging' ticked.
I have the exact same problem, does anyone have a definite solution yet?
Me too have the same issue. it starts up while using the wall charger and even if unplug charger it pops up sometimes and my home screen lights up and remain ON causing battery drain. don't know any fix for this yet. can anyone please advise....
thanks
I've had this too when I spilled coke on my table, I think some droplets went on the usb port of my SGS2 that was also on the table.
Same issues happened: Car mode automatically starts, Phone hangs, etc. I've read car mode is triggered when certain resistance in the usb port is met(Just like the 301k for the download mode).
What I did was, I turned of the phone, removed the battery, then inserted a wet/moistened(NOT DRIPPING, water only) cotton on the phone's usb port. Compress the cotton with your finger first so that excess water will come out + the cotton wont have dangling strands. Remove/reinsert cotton until satisfied.
Be sure to let the port dry first before powering it up again.

Hi all, I have the same problem with voice talk - driving mode enables its self and sometimes it says I´m plugged with USB port and phone is charging.
I have had also problem with AUTO START. I´ve switched phone off, and it automatically start on!!
I´ve tried factory reset, disk formatting - 4-5 times, no applications yet and again the same problem with voice talk.
This problem started 2days ago, after one week use.
I have XWKE7 (2.3.3), no root, original from Orange SK and I don´t know what to do now, whether to go to Orange and reclaim.
thanks for suggestions.

the only way u can see that issue is software related is to install a diff kernel, which in turn will void ur warranty.
hence the ideal thing is to visit a nearest Samsung service center, as ur handset is still under warranty
do not mess around with things, so that later ON u repent with

I have this problem before...
I solve this by plugging in my ear phone then unplug it... simple
Maybe you should try this method before wiping your phone :fingers-crossed:

Thats the first thing i did before restart even.
I have done with the factory rest still it does not work so mighth be th hardware problem.
Tomorrow i will b going to SC.
SC replaced the speaker and its working fine...
The reason he said is that the connection points on speaker are damaged it seems. Not much info other than this.

Hi there. I am in a bad situation.
My friends microphon was working badly when he was soeaking with me on his phone. He asked me if i could fix it. And yes i gave it a try.
I cleaned it with isopropanol and mounted it back togeather.
Now it is very laggy. And reboot itself. It cant make call or recieve call. When i call the phone it sometimes just vibrates after it restarts. Or it just does nothing then restarts.
So it ia not app related because it worked like a charm before ipening and cleaning. What can i do?
It is super slow almost not working. Please save my ass:crying::crying::crying:

What the hell did you do? Isopropanol? Do you even chemistry bro? Did you clean the ENTIRE phone? Also the motherboard? If yes, then all I can tell you is that you are, no other way round it, stupid. You never clean the phone when there is anything wrong with it. And I bet there are many more things that are wrong with it.
Unfortunately there is nothing to be done. You will have to apologise to your friend for breaking his phone.
Alright i made a mistake. I have seen people clean phone with ultrasonic cleaner ans isopropanol. And it works fine after that.
Does it help to factory reset the phone. Could it be any software related issue on it?
Or it must be hardware? Which component is broken i can take part fron other galaxy s3 and solder it on.
Hi I have a galaxy S7 Edge (SM-G935FD), I have been using it for 2 months now, phone was fine in the beginning but couple of weeks ago it has started freezing and shutting down randomly and it wont restart until I press power, home and volume down buttons simultaneously. I have cleared the cache partition and factory reset the phone but to no avail, even installed the factory firmware from smart switch. Please help if there is a solution to that. Please.
If you've done all of those steps and still not working, then you might look into making a warranty claim.
The problem is that phone runs fine most of the time but shuts down randomly, got it checked through the warranty company but they say everything is fine. Don't know what the problem is, it was fine in the beginning.

I would try a different / earlier version of the firmware then. Smart Switch can't do that, but you can use Odin.
ok, i will do that asap and will let you know, thank you so much for the help btw can you pls guide me which firmware is the cleanest and most efficient of them all, if you would know?
