It's possible that it's a software problem, but I strongly suspect this is a hardware issue. Sorry to say that RTM may be the only answer!

im in truble couse i ordered this device from spain and i live in saudi arabia ,, its gonna be so hard to return it back there :l

Like I said, you can't rule out a software issue, but it sounds more likely that there's a physical problem with the USB port and it's making the phone think it's in car mode every now and then. If it were a software issue then I think we'd see a LOT more people with the issue. When you think about how many SGS2 users there are on XDA, and compare that to the number of people who have had this issue you'll see that it's a tiny number really. That definitely sounds more like a manufacturing issue than a software one.

i agree with you actually .. it seems like a hardware problem .. not a software one cuz i literally changed everything on the device .. kernel, rom everything .. but hardware !
let's wish that it's a software problem even if we were 99% sure that it's a hardwore issue ...
thanks again ..

Absolutely! I wish you luck mate.
i restored the orginal rom,kernel
30 mins now no problems yet!
I have the same problem with my Galaxy S2. It started like a week ago or something. I tried to upgrade the firmware to the latest, but it seemed like that only made it worse. I haven't rooted my phone, so I'm obviously using the stock rom. Any tips to what I should try to do? It's a really annoying problem.

Car mode is triggered by a certain resistance value between pin 4 and 5 on micro usb plug, either dirt, oil, sweat on exterior part of it (most likely) or some condensation/oil on the inner part- where it's soldered to the the mainboard.
My advice would be to take out the battery and try to clean it with small brush, contact spray ( make sure it dries out before attaching the battery)....or go to a phone repair center to have the plug cleaned...
it should do the trick
I tried cleaning it with contact spray but it didn't work. Haven't tried using a small brush yet, cause I haven't got one. Any other suggestions or should I just explain the problem to Samsung and send it in?
Edit: Nevermind. I noticed that car mode wasn't popping up later in the evening. I restarted my phone and now it seems to be working perfectly. Thanks for the help!
I have the same problem everytime i use the car charger...but restarting the phone solves this problem atleast till I plug in the car charger.
Same for me. It really bugs me. I'm thinking of RMA.
the problem still on my phone .. i changed everything on my phone .. seems like it's a hardware problem with some devices .. like mine and yours
and i hardly think that we can solve it by our selves .. we need to send it back to samsung and see what they say!

In your 'Voice Talk' settings, under 'Wake Up Command', you may have 'Wake up command & 'Only on while charging' ticked.
I have the exact same problem, does anyone have a definite solution yet?
Me too have the same issue. it starts up while using the wall charger and even if unplug charger it pops up sometimes and my home screen lights up and remain ON causing battery drain. don't know any fix for this yet. can anyone please advise....
thanks
I've had this too when I spilled coke on my table, I think some droplets went on the usb port of my SGS2 that was also on the table.
Same issues happened: Car mode automatically starts, Phone hangs, etc. I've read car mode is triggered when certain resistance in the usb port is met(Just like the 301k for the download mode).
What I did was, I turned of the phone, removed the battery, then inserted a wet/moistened(NOT DRIPPING, water only) cotton on the phone's usb port. Compress the cotton with your finger first so that excess water will come out + the cotton wont have dangling strands. Remove/reinsert cotton until satisfied.
Be sure to let the port dry first before powering it up again.

Hi all, I have the same problem with voice talk - driving mode enables its self and sometimes it says I´m plugged with USB port and phone is charging.
I have had also problem with AUTO START. I´ve switched phone off, and it automatically start on!!
I´ve tried factory reset, disk formatting - 4-5 times, no applications yet and again the same problem with voice talk.
This problem started 2days ago, after one week use.
I have XWKE7 (2.3.3), no root, original from Orange SK and I don´t know what to do now, whether to go to Orange and reclaim.
thanks for suggestions.

Hello friends of xda. I own a Samsung Galaxy S2. Phone was perfect till today. I don't know why but the phone messed up today. It opens the voice control automatically, reacts as if it was connected to an usb ,even if its not. Tried to flash with odin but after 10min of normality the problem persists again. I took perfect care of my phone.Never felt from my hands or got wet with water.
Please somebodz help as i don't know what to do.
Thanks and keep the good work going
cheers friend
i guess you could always go into settings and see if you could disable it.Try a factory re-set.If all else fails then root your phone and freeze or delete the app with titaniun so it wont work anymore.

Micro usb socket got dirt in it?
Thanks for your help. I fixed it by wiping the dalvik cache and re-flashing another rom.
All is fine now. Thanks for your help. You are the best guys. keep the good work going.
Hi,
I have a really strange problem, that I was unable to find among other people.
So, this is how it started:
I had some old official Froyo firmware with Voodoo lagfix and Voodoo Sound on it. One day I've noticed that it now takes like 5-10 seconds after you press a power button for screen to turn on. It started to annoy me and I decided to update to latest official firmware. After I did, the problem I mentioned disappeared. But somehow now I've got much bigger problem...
Anytime when i'm trying to make or accept a call phone freezes. Black screen and battery icon is all that is visible. However, call itself proceed and you can talk, but the only way to finish it is to remove battery (3G calls still works fine, btw)
I've tried all possible firmwares from oldest ones to ICS... tried all cleanup options from recover menu, stll nothing's changed.
I'll be very grateful if you guys can suggest me anything.
Thanks
Just a thought but make sure bluetooth is off, see if that helps
Read it on XDA a while ago.
Hope this helps

yep, it was water. not that I dropped it in there or something, but guys from service center told me that there was corroded track on circuit board. that's why proximity sensor wasn't working, so phone use to freeze each time OS tried to initialize the sensor
Hi,the reason of this is to ask about a problem that I have with a Lg G2 mini, I have 2 days with it and it restarts randomly.
I think the problem may be the last software upgrade because the first day I had no problems, the sim card maybe bad cut and not making good contact. I don't know. Somebody whith the same problem?
Sorry for the bad english. Thanks.
If you recently install an update try to perform Factory data reset under settings. Check if that will help. Take note that once you perform the data reset all your phone data will be erased, so make sure to make up a backup before performing it.

Happens constantly here.. even after hard reset/factory reset... no solution. No widgets on homescreen or lock screen.
More or less given it up and gonna sell it to someone that loves reboots :cyclops:
Known Problems
Mine also does this and I've narrowed it down to a few things: 1. When the phone overheats greatly and stops functioning properly, this could be the cause. 2. Is it restarting when your are using it? Because if not and it is in your pockets or bag then power off button gets pushed down easily and may switch off your phone. 3. It might be a app that is crashing (???) Like the other guy said, try factory reset it :fingers-crossed:
Hi,
since yesterday I cannot hear almost anything from the top speaker on my mate 10 pro.
It's not gone completely, since in a quiet environment I can hear something, but in a normal situation it is almost impossible to have a normal conversation because it's very, very faint.
Obviously the calls volume is at maximum.
Did anybody else experiment this issue? May it be a software problem? How can I test the speaker or is there any hidden setting I should look at?
Thank you for your help!
Enrico
sorry to hear that. why don't you claim warranty?

well try to factory reset the phone then see if this changes anything but backup the important stuff.
Hi enricomemo,
Have you tried factory reset? Did it helped?
I have Mate 10 Lite As a mater a fact, but the problem is the same! It seems to me that problem appeared after last miui update, at least in my case......i don't know what to do enymore! Tried all the secret codes, uninstalling all recent apps, installing all kind of volume boosting apps but nothing helped!
I'm really desperate over here!
Please if anyone has a suggestion on what to do I would really appreciate it!
Thank you guys in advance!
Hi! I also had this problem a few weeks ago. It drove me nuts, because even after a factory reset it was the same. But (I guess) my mistake was, that I kept a full settings, apps and files backup in HiSuite desktop to make the reset as painless as possible. Looks like some bad system setting was moved over.
A second factory reset, where I only kept my apps (did not want do relogin and recertify them all) did the trick. Was a bit more work, but now I have a fully functional phone again.
Only one thing. I think the top speaker was louder in stereo mode before. It defenitely is active again (I tested it with sound for each channel and the top speaker acts as a tweeter for the side it is situated on), but I could swear the stereo effect was much more pronounced before. No way to check that and no way to get this through a warranty case when it works good enough. Honestly, just being able to use this as a proper phone again was a huge relief.
So try the factory reset and DON'T backup any system settings. Backing up all your apps in HiSuite seems fine though and works great.
Also try apps like unclog your speaker. Really works.
