Hi, I'm having some problems with Movie Studio on a Motorola XOOM. It appears that the application doesn't let me add pictures in the Gallery that come from Picasa Web, and just those that have been taken with the device camera and those in the downloads folder. I am under the impression that it's somehow not scanning the same directories that the Gallery application is scanning, as the Gallery application shows also all the pictures I have on Picasa Web too.
I also tried to make some albums available offline but the behavior is the same.
Is there any reason why those files are not picked up?

Does anyone know how to stop albums from all your linked accounts, dropbox, blogs, google+ etc appearing?
I just want things like downloads, camera and videos, not all this auto-shared stuff.
Thanks!

im also interested in this. also i would like to add music album art to that list. i have over 2000 songs on my phone and all the album work from them are showing up in my stock gallery. if this cant be fixed is there any way someone could add the "hide album" feature to this gallery and distribute it. you could call it "ics gallery+" lol. i love the look of this album just wish it had more features.
just get the app called Quickpic. it allows you to hide albums. especially from gallery app. allows you to hide those special albums n pix you want no one seeing lol
There is a free app called Hide it Pro in android market. It can hide all those pictures, apps, musics, and videos which you don't want them to show up.
I second the use of QuickPic. You can use .nomedia files to hide media files from the media scanner but the stock gallery app is very buggy anyway and probably won't update your folder list properly.

Hi there,
Basically my Dad last night was in his Gallery and he could see all of his photos that he has taken with his camera, as they appear in an album Camera. This morning he came to me with his phone and explained that this morning some notification for 'Instant Upload' had appeared and that he could no longer see the pictures that he had taken with his Camera in his Camera album, but that all of those photos had been uploaded to something called 'Instant Upload' which had now created an album in his gallery and had deleted his camera album.
We also have a Samsung TV, and now when he tries to beam from the phone to the TV using AllShare it comes up as unsupported file type, I'm guessing this is because technically the photo's aren't on the phone but are actually on a remote server? I initially thought it to be Google+, so I turned Instant Upload off there, however I noticed the album in the Gallery has a small Picasa picture next to it. How do I get the pictures from Instant Upload back onto the phone?
Thanks in advance!
On my stock HTC One Sprint, I'm a bit disappointed with my Photo Gallery Application.
Things I like:
- Integration with Picassa (A must for my photos)
- Integration with Drop Box
- Ability to send local files to WIFI Players with HTC utility
Things I dislike:
- The Picassa interface is poor compared to, say, my original Nexus 7 OEM Gallery app.
- Gallery app lacks a 'People' tagging functionality. I tag photos in Picassa, and typically write them to the XMP tags as well. Useful for me to find photos of specific persons quickly.
- No ability to save Picassa photos locally; can't send those photos to WIFI player. Can't use the Picassa photos in Contacts or Wallpapers etc.
Anyone have experiene with alternative Gallery apps which have some of these features? Any way of installing the Nexus 7 Gallery w/out sacrificing WIFI Player capability or overwriting the existing Gallery? I'd love to have both
Hi - I use Google Photos as my main photo library with my family. I share with them multiple albums allowing them to add photos into it.
The only app that works for me to browse all added photos in albums is Google Photo app - unfortunately it does not work on Android TV. I know I can chromecast it but why should i do it if I have Android TV?
I have managed to install Google Photo app myself but it does not work well - or even at all, cannot be controlled using remote
Any suggestions? Thanks
It works now with Google Assistant. You can't really browse, but tell it to "show pictures from xxx" and it will. You can also cast from photos on a phone.
download the Google Photo app .apk file from a mirror, and install it via a file manager. You'll also need a sideload launcher app to use apps that don't show on the main screen.
I use this. even got the paid version i was that good and only option as of now i think

Hi,
I picked Google Photos to be my standard camera album app and i have backed up all the photos to the cloud so there are no pictures on my phone but in the Google Photo app. But for some reason i cant choose pictures from Google Photos in Messenger, Snapchat, Android Messages or anywhere. Only in Friendly i could chose between Google Photos and the stock camera album app.
Is there some way to fix this except from downloading all the pictures again?
This is on a Huawei P20.
