ok so while screwing with thing and cpu stuff i discovered my second core was shut off. im not sure if thats cuz it was idling enough or if its shut off until it needs to, well im a speed freak i want it on all teh time so far from what ive seen is enabling it manually makes it stay on til you reboot.
all this script does is turn that core on, i dont know any side effects and obviously youll lose more battery but this is for people who just need that extra oomph
Code:
adb remount
adb push supaspeed.sh /system/bin
adb shell chmod 755 /system/bin/supaspeed.sh
adb shell supaspeed.sh
Sweet!

you dont flash this, i suppose i prolly shoulda made it flashable, but im lazy for the night
commands are in op
this is separate from teh kernel
anyone test it out yet? placebo effect? am i going crazy? dont know what am i talking about or did i just give everyone a big ole speedboost?
oh and reboots reset it (the script will stay there for you to just reuse just not the setting it switches on
Possible to set it to run on boot? With script manager

Do you think it really makes the phone run faster? I could be wrong but i feel like they'd set up certain aspects of the phone to only use one core and the second core will be on for no reason.

I'm having the same problem. It won't adb. Says it's not a reconized path or something of that nature?
---------- Post added at 07:30 AM ---------- Previous post was at 07:22 AM ----------
Okay. I put it into my root folder, and then adb worked. I just ran smartbench and got 4060, 3195, and 3108 this was on the first 1.1 ghz kernal you released, I haven't flashed the newest one yet.
---------- Post added at 07:38 AM ---------- Previous post was at 07:30 AM ----------
Okay. Shabby. Great work! After screwing with the phone for a bit. I've noticed a considerable difference, it seems to run a lot more snappy. BUT the battery does drain quicker. Meh. Who cares. It's screaming. You do amazing work Bud. Thanks a ton.
Okay, I flashed you RS2 Kernal, and it seems to me that my smartbench speed is actually slower than it was with the RS1. But I don't know if that's accurate or not. Either way, the phone is stupidily fast.
Nice find. Combine this script with a tuned "ondemand" or "conservative" governor (when they become available) and you should be golden. Battery life will not be as good as stock but should be better than the script alone.
1. Does bootloader have to be unlocked?
2. If we download this direct to our phone can we install it using terminal emulator?
Sent from my MB855 using XDA App
shouldnt have to be
and yes you can, you can use script manager to auto start it. ideaaly if i knew the proper way id set it as an init.d script.

cant seem to get terminal to work with these commands?
I have a folder on my c: named root and it has all my adb stuff in it. So, I used cmd and did the commands in the OP after placed the extracted .sh file into my root folder. All of the commands took (Im assuming) and when I did a quad test, it went from ave of 2550 to 2670. Can you tell me how to verify if the cmd actually pushed the file??
Why did this get moved to general? Wtf?
Sent from my MB855 using xda premium
So are you saying the second core is never on when the phone is running? Or do programs make the call to turn it on? Also can people do some battery drain tests before and after? Kinda curious as to the reason behind this and if there is a way to have the second core off till the first core hits 100%...... lots of Q's and lots of possibilities.
i guess no one answered this question, can this be used with the stock kernel? is unlock bootloader required? and do u have to run the script every time you boot?

He posted it late last night on twitter
Has anyone flashed this rom? I'm not too interested in ports on my Slide, but I'd like to hear the thoughts of people who have installed this.
Personally, I'm sticking with SlideM until CM5/6 arrives for the Slide.
i flashed it.....It stalls, big time for me...and before anyone goes"did you wipe(lol)" yes I did...ohh and did the mount system to but to no avail still stalls and freezes!
But it is fast but just freezes too much...went back to slide m
on another note, which do you guys like better SlideM or the Legend rom?
Did you run your log cat to see that it was indeed frozen
Remember Custom ROMS can take up to 15 minutes to flash in some cases, although on this phone I dont think it will ever be that high.
I thought mine was frozen but it turned out it just needed 7 minutes or so to load.
The logcat looked plenty busy
Thanks to kingofyo1 for teaching me how to check if the phone actually is frozen
anyways ill be sticking to the SLIDEM rom till someone builds a good kernal to overclock or a froyo rom or CM rom.
Mine kept freezing too .. But I didn't check my logcat..
Been loving legend... Except for no genius button...
Sent from my T-Mobile myTouch 3G Slide using XDA App
well i flashed it, and im at work, so cant logcat.. and i tried installing setcpu, because the kernel looked slightly different, i was thinking he may have implemented the OC kernel(hopes and dreams ) and i got a lock. restarted and then tried setcpu again, and locks still there >.< so i am guessing either superuser is messed up or something, will try a different root program and see if possibly its the program or the superuser.. overall its a good looking rom, check back on my slide bible for my scores if interested
I just clocked it. 3 minutes 14 seconds
After about 51 seconds you will get the little heropetit image. than an HTC for the remaining time.
Just relax and go away from the phone for a few minutes. I also filmed this.
So yea....i used it like i said...and im already back on using SlideM
BTW i changed a tire while this was loading and was still stuck after multiple boots.
OMFG 3.8 LINPACK!!! and second time is 3.3, 3rd is 3.5 4th is 4!!! 5th -8 is 4.1
can you say quickest slide rom to date??

working on it... no such luck yet, i'll post if i can get it working :/
newest ver of setcpu makes device unresponsive >.< never get a su request either on it >.>
Eugene has been working on a kernal to let us overclock. I saw some pics from him posted some where last night.
the superuser.apk is out of whack.. replacing it now and we will see what happens guys. wish me luck? lol
EDIT: cant seem to drop the stock su, dont have adb at this time with me so i cant do it that way either.. anyone else having troubles with su perms?
Tried it again and it boots.....but then just freezes.....i tried to uninstall superuser and wouldnt but installed setcpu.apk and opened her up and now my phone is stuck/frozen/locked up.....
Will be staying on SlideM till these issues are resolved
my biggest issue is the trackpad is messed up,
up=right
down=left
left=up
right=down
there are also some graphical issues that aren't incredibly bothersome, but stuff is just a little offcenter in landscape
if someone is a member of the community where eugene's original post is hosted, would you mind copying the images he attached over here?
Hello everyone! I am currently on eclipse vs7(great rom nitro!!)and was curious as to which performance scripts are needed. Which scripts are redundant to run together and so forth. There are quite a few and I wanna make sure they don't interfere w each other. I think if we could get some kind of list going, it may help some of us less savvy get the best performance from our phones. Thank you all in advance and especially the devs in these forums!!

I have been running .7 RC1 since it came out. I mixed and matched scripts till i found the ones that seemed to work the best together. Some of them are from Speedy v4 and the rest come included in the eclipse rom. I also modified the final minifrees in the eclipse script to output what I have found to work the best. I have included the actual files in a zip for you to open and view. after booting into eclipse i used root explorer to replace the ones in the init folder with these. let me know if you have any other questions about it.
Thank you..
Thank you very much!! I unzipped and moved to init d folder. Do I need to change permissions or is that all set? Also I kept the sd read ahead, just for giggles. Thanks again. This post has had quite a few views and not many bites lol. I suspect there are many like me, whom have the flashing down. Just don't know the realities of what all this stuff does.
I usually go into bootloader and set the permissions under advanced just to make sure. and then i reboot a couple of times to get it ironed out. these scripts together might have some redundancies but ive been running them for 71 hrs. straight without a reboot and my phone feels like it is still running fresh from a reboot. the only thing that I change manually is the minifrees after boot. they were embedded so deep inside the scripts i didnt want to mess anything up. Here are the minifrees I use which i set at boot with autokiller memory optimizer - 6,12,82,89,97,125. these are the minifrees that zeppelinrox recommends for the droid x2. i used to use the v6 supercharger but i find that when i do it conflicts with the scripts and causes lag on my phone. probably because v6 requires 1.18.4 or lower busybox where eclipse roms come with 1.19 imbedded. enjoy
Any update on how this set of scripts is working out for you? I was also wondering how is your battery life running these scripts?
Sent from my DROID X2 using XDA App
as far as battery life is concerned I can go an entire day of moderate to heavy use without having to charge my phone once. lag is pretty much non existent for the most part. the maximum battery life I got was a day in a half without having to charge my droid...
Sent from my DROID X2 using xda premium
All that you need is supercharger and most of 01tweaks. The rest of the scripts dont do anything. Gingerbread already zipaligns apks, the renicing script gives insane values, the minmem script is part of supercharger and the cpu scaling script doesnt work because the kernel ignores the values.
Sent from my DROID X2 using XDA App
I don't use all the scripts from speedy just some. I know that everything is zipalligned already I just kept the script cause it didn't hurt anything. I don't use the supercharger script or the renice. If you look in the zip that was attached it will show you the actual files I included.

sorry i will do that i was at work and posting from my phone
i just looked. 03cpufreq does anything. change the values then run cputuner and look the kernel doesnt listen. 98tweaks is a worse/conflicting versions of 01tweaks, 75zipalign doesnt do anything and i dont see the point of clearing the dalvik cache every boot since its being caches to speed of the vm
Hmmm well together my phone is faster than separate. I tested them separately extensively. Never noticed any conflicts in real world performance

I found in my tests that no scripts need to be added to version7 eclipse. The two he put in are all u need. Nothing really made it better. A couple scripts actually dropped my gaming.index on smartbench (scheduler change and sysctl I think were culprit) it adequate the gljellyfish drop to 22fps which I also could notice when watching movies it constantly got really pixilated and blurry. So I just left it be eclipse is amazing without any extra tweaks imho.
Sadly tho I am not rooted right now. Im just gonna bite the bullet and see what happens. Maybe. Still haven't completly made my.mind.up on this subject.
Yesterday I decided to delete all scripts. To be honest I think the phone runs better without them. My battery imo last the same and phone runs w no lag. I believe this is due to eclipse v7, which is awesome work nitro!! Im going to run this for awhile and than try it w speedy v4 to see if it makes a difference or not. I am beginning to believe it is a placebo effect, but we'll see. Not trying to discount the hard work that I cannot even fathom, writing these scripts!!! Just being curious....
Which were the original two scripts? Just wondering because I flashed 0vermind's scripts and if they don't work I would like to change them back.
Sent from my DROID X2 using XDA App
The scripts in question is speedy version 4 and the scripts included with eclipse. I actually took the advice of the other person who just posted and deleted all the scripts in the init folder. I think he is right the rom runs better without any scripts or so it seems. I'll keep testing and feel it out

Its not that they don't work. Im sure they do what they are supposed to do. Just that they aren't really necessary imho. Some of the things they do CAN help. But its not needed.
I believe eclipse 7 came only with cpufreq and 98tweaks. Tho they are different than the ones with those names included in script flash tweaks.
Go into the eclipse zip you downloaded and press folders /system>etc>init.d to see what was initially included with the eclipse u r running. U can extract(w/ root explorer) and out em into init.d and fix permission and owner and be good to go.(owners are root and permission is rw-r--r--)
I feel like if a script could make eclipse better nitrogen would have include it. The other ones were there in older eclipse but have been removed. And I think that is one reason why newest eclipse runs so buttery smooth and great. Nitrogen is an amazing dev. Trust his work and his tests IMHO
No doubt on nitro being one of the best devs ever. And I do trust him. I just like messing with things... Its in my nature lol. I'm trying to raise money to get him a bionic so he can develop eclipse for my bionic. Trust me after going through soooo many roms on so many phones eclipse is by far one of my absolute favorites.... And nitro just rocks in general
Sent from my DROID X2 using xda premium
Yeah its in my nature also.
And I wanna add that I am NOT downplaying these init.d tweaks. I just knowbthat one or two of en made my phone worse. I have a feeling it was scheduler going to noop. Maybe a deadline scheduleer should be tried. I just know that even the way smartbench looked changed when that script wad in. And I know I know benchmarks don't mean.much blah blah blah. But my real life tests confirmed the smartvench results.
I also want to add that I am sure these little bugs and things will be worked out and scripts WILL provide enhancements as long as the devs take note to this type of feedback as a way to improve the scripts. I have faith in ALL devs who push for x2 excellence THANK YOU ALL!!!
+1 to that

Thanks a bunch! This helped a lot. You also provided a moment of clarity... why bother adding in a bunch of other scripts when Nitro, a guy who clearly knows what he is doing, found it ideal to have just these! Not trying to discourage any of you other developers that are hard at work but like they say if it ain't broke don't fix it!

Hey bro, under cyanogen settings, gingerDX setting there should be a setting called quiet hours, try enable that, Ive never tried it so i don't know if it works for the led while charging, or if it just stops the led flashing when a txt shows up.
BTW i wanted to ask, whats the dock you got, i wouldn't mind getting one for my mini pro?
Hope i helped, good-luck.
Cheers,

The gingerdx version disables LED, but its buggy and disables it permamently even outside the specified times. The cyanogen version only disables sounds/vibrations but doesnt dim the LED even if the option is ticked, it seems as though you cant win I just resort to placing my phone face down so I cant see it.

I was kinda hoping that there would be some kind of script or app or even modifying some system files, however I do find the notifications handy so i think that there might be one of the major issues.

Oh right home made lol, thats cool, didnt read the home made part. I might have a look around for one. Goodluck finding what you need. I was using GingerDX v17 with stock kernel, tried all of the phones listed in the app however I didn't reboot each and every time.
I think it depends on how it disables the LED as all phones are different. I have a feeling that this LED is going to be a hard/weird one to turn off
Sent from my Mind via Telepathy
I saw in the market that the developper included this app into a new paid one called Bedside (Night Clock) with call monitoring features and in the description he mentions:
** 2nd NOTICE: Some devices do not support turning off the button LEDs. Bedside uses official APIs to do this and if your device does not turn off the LEDs when opening Bedside blame the manufacturer and/or the ROM you are using. (Devices include: Galaxy S phones, Nexus S, some Motorola devices, etc) **
I guess our phone must be one of those.
Ah I see, I didn't realise he intergrated it into another app, I guess Ill have to try that one out as well.
And yeah I wouldn't be at all surprised if the mini pro isn't supported, or if it isn't even possible. Although surely a custom kernel could help with a bit developing and modding... damn I wish I was an android expert sometimes lol.

My thoughts exactly, but I guess a little annoying led isn't important to some people, personally I thought it would be a reasonably easy fix or workaround but I guess nothing worth doing is easy.
So i was about to post bedside, but no warez so well if you want it you know how to contact me.

Surely it cant be that hard to find (yay for google) usually the issue is finding the latest version though, but don't worry guys if it works then ill buy it cause then it'll be worth it (I don't really want to buy an app that might not work you see, not a fan of wasting money )

That can probably be done with this phone since it uses the same chipset as the E3D and Sensation. Once I get mine next tuesday/wednesday ill see what I can do about getting this module to work.
If anyone takes a look at it, post anything you have tried. This could in theory at the very least allow an undervolt which would help offset the LTE power sucking.
Yeah see I wwas talking about this earlier. I think this will work. I PMed viperboy who actually wrote one of the bloatware scripts when we had temproot. Just waiting for a response AMD hope to get a jump start on this. Good idea starting this thread tho

Coming from the bravoc which has almost zero development aside from 2fast at his site I am used to just thinking of things to try. I was able to port a couple dinc roms to it even though I was told it couldn't be done. I hope to be much more involved with development here since there are already more posts in this section than there were in a year at the site dedicated to the bravoc

It took a few days to get that inc port almost bugfree (usb pc transfer wouldn't work) but it was otherwise fine iirc. I hope that with support and other work to use as examples i can make some stuff for this device that isn't either a variation of AOSP or a sense port that has some serious drawbacks.
I am personally more interested in the possibility of underclocking and undervolting than OCing. Or maybe OCing and undervolting like I did with my droid x - can really help save some battery and allow the phone to sip less juice. This phone is so new I am getting ahead of myself, but hopefully in time we can get root/roms/OCing and undervolting apps to work on the Rezound.
I normally run my battery on performance mode on all my phones. I set it to normal, and with the equivalent usage I get 1/3 better battery life. I even leave all my antenna's on(except WiFi when I am away).
Just to let everyone know what I tried. I took the file for "unsupported phones" from the link's thread and changed the version number to match the rezound, which is -- 2.6.35.13-g20c5d1d -- . As you can see it was not just the ending part starting with the 'g' that needed to be changed as ours is 2.6.35.13 and the file was made for 2.6.35.10. But since a reboot resets everything I tried it by changing only the part starting with 'g' and it failed saying "Exec format error". So I then changed the entire version string to match ours and adb actually completed the task but the phone rebooted immediately and everything was wiped out again.
I did this before the kernel source was put up on the forums but since I dont have ANY knowledge of messing with kernels I am no help there, but hopefully this can help someone get this mod going for the Rezound.
we don't have perma root like the 3vo did so I don't think this will work until then. But this was a band aid until the kernel source was released so this won't even be necessary anymore.

The guy who made Setcpu made a script that allowed oc on the stock kernel on the 3D. It was before perm root. It was right after agrabren found the first exploit and a reboot would return the phone to stock. You temp rooted ran the script from adb and used Setcpu to oc.. Some of the smoothest kernel action the 3D had.. I'm sure same thing is potentially there, just need someone smart enough to do..

send me a link. Ill take a look at the script.

Yeah I rememba that man. I was just talking about that the other day. I also mentioned that maybe we can use that somehow but I wouldn't know where TP start. But we need a stable Temp Root first I think. Not degrading anyone's work either.

It will take me a little time to find. I don't think I have the script on sd anymore and the thread is buried deep. I shall go look.
Edit: ironically easier than I thought to find. Here is the thread from the 3D forum.

Cool. I did find a tidbit that might (don't get your hopes up and basically pretend I didn't even say this) make root last longer. Obviously until I have my rezound for the next few days I can't even think about testing anything.
Then put it out there for us to test! Don't be selfish! lol

I will once I get around to writing it. I am in class right now then I am driving 5 hours home. So maybe tomorrow afternoon Ill get a script working. Also, I may have figured out a way to disable elements of sense in an automated script(for those that don't like sense).

Since I happened to venture to theses parts since our buddy plat ventured to this. I am a bit surprised to see you switched. How ever the module you are talking about in the op I am pretty sure you can't just hex edit the kernel version. As the kernel will be different for the device compared to that of the evo 3d. If it is anything like doing the g2 version for the htc merge that is. Where it had to be recompiled to work correctly.
I am sure one of the dev's familiar in here with building source code could get it done up. If it works after that I am unsure. Though con you ported the sense hd rom from the inc to the desire. That was the only one that you had ported. Followed by you followed samuel2706's guide and other info he gave you. Then you came to me to ask how I fixed the mms and verizon branding in the rom. In which I told you how to fix it but you put it off as you fixed it. As you are putting off in here.
another mod i come across have tried the first mod with flow control set to 10 slowed me down it seemed but I left it blank and seems like huge improvement maybe just me figured I share see what else others can get. haven't tried the second mod looks a little risky to me if you try it please post results for others and if it works for you make sure to thank the right person (not me)

I can not find code: "persist.ril.uart.flowctrl=1"
Tried Root Explorer and Rom Toolbox and neither showed this. I am running Joker's 1.4 kernal not sure if that could possibly make any difference???
what rom cm doesn't have it think its only stock or stock based I'm on rocko and its there also just did the file swap can't say it helped yet but no problems with it so far don't think in going to try the unthrottle mod though looks terribly risky of having to sbf the line in my prop is immediately after cdma ril........

Currently running CM7.2 and the code literally isn't there at all which leads me to believe that you could just delete the entire thing and it would either help or hurt your speed on Sprint's network.

idk thread says if you put a 0 you lose internet and zep was looking into it saying it can only be turned on or off not adjusted but then again said maybe it could be seems like it needs more research/testing but hell as horrible as sprint network in my areas is especially without 4g and flakey wifi anything that can help im trying
so i have been running this for a full day now and can say both mods seemed to have improved my stability and speed of internet saying this because in my are the 3gs are more like no gs and withe mod1 and 2 in place ive gotten a very reliable connection and much improved ( not to the point of worth shouting about but ) i a using null settings on mod 1 just leaving it blank and ive done the file swap in the second mod i want to try the unthrottle bit but im no dev and dont want to play with it not knowing exactly what it could do to my magnificent mopho. gl folks hope this works for you guys as well as it "appears" to be for me
Im on cm9 and its also not there, well it wasn't i added persist.ril.uart.flowctrl=10 to the ril sections, and my results where better data speeds on the cm9 which has been terrible btw. going to try mod 2 while im at it.

So doesn't Zep's 3G Tweak script do essentially the same or is this different somehow?
As far as I know his scripts don't but he is testing it to maybe include it or thats what I understood from reading his posts.....
Just did the whole unthrottle mod was much easier than I thought everything running great no problems at all too early to tell if it improved anything but we will see and ill report if anything has

You still running that mod without problems? Have you tried adding the line to CM7.2 RIL section?

using rocko's unlocked rom with it nulled out (left it blank) maybe placebo but feels like its better so far as adding it to cm i think cm already removes the flow control im not 100% on that but if you wanna try it make sure you nandroid and or put a .bak after your prop so you can fix if something goes awry.

The location should'nt matter. You definitely dont want a # before a line that you want parsed. A # is essentially voiding that line out. It is called a comment in technical terms.
