Has anyone gotten Bluetooth tethering to work? I've tried various things (can enumerate them if anyone is interested) but Win7 keeps giving me driver errors.

I have a 64 bit Windows 7 computer. I open bluetooth file transfer , pair it with my computer successfully, and then I get an error that Windows 7 does not have device drivers for bluetooth peripheral. I have installed the driver on the phone and am able to connect via USB with no problems. I am not sure what I am missing. I don't see anything on HTC's site. Anyone able to clue me in on what I am doing wrong?
i am having the same issue, i have a thinkpad t500. i have done all the thinkpad driver updates, windows updates and also installed htc sync. and there are 2 portions of the bluetooth peripherals that dont work.
the ones that work are the following
1. av remote control target
2. av source
3. headset ag
4. opp
Looks like camera/video and info are the ones failing. here is the specific hardware id's.

BTHENUM\{453994d5-d58b-96f9-6616-b37f586ba2ec}_LOCALMFG&000f
can anyone that has gotten the thunderbolt to do bluetooth get specific driver info for the ids above that would be great help.
thanks

I have been trying to get my G Tablet to connect to my computers (Windows 7 x64 and OSX 10.4.11) without success. I managed to PAIR the tablet with the computers, but I can never get them to CONNECT. After I hit the connect button, nothing happens. I want to bluetooth to transfer files wirelessly, or even stream music and share internet connections.
By the way, I am running CyanogenMod 7.0.2.

I was able to send a file from my linux desktop to the gtab... the linux box sees it as a "phone" profile, which might mean it only has a limited set of bluetooth services installed.
Wanted to bring this back up as I am having the same issues, connecting with my HTC Thunderbolt. Pairs with everything, but doesn't connect. Kind of a shame when I need BT to tether. Anyone find a fix yet?
Hello.
I'm trying to browse files on my HTC EVO 3D via bluetooth. To accomplish this, I went into:
Settings -> Wireless & Networks -> Bluetooth Settings-> Bluetooth Advanced Settings
I enabled FTP Server
I then went to:
Settings -> Wireless & Networks -> Bluetooth Settings->
And made the device discoverable.
From the Bluetooth Devices panel in Windows 7, I went to "Add a Device"
The device was found, I entered the pair code displayed in windows into my EVO 3D and then . . . I get an error message that the drivers were not installed properly.
If I select my HTC EVO 3D in the Bluetooth Devices panel and click "Troubleshoot" it detects problems ans suggests the followings:
Install a driver for this device
The Driver for Bluetooth Peripheral Device is not installed. Install the latest driver for the device.
Apply this fix
Skip this fix
Continue troubleshooting without applying this fix.
If I click "Apply this fix" it ultimately shows:
Device driver software was not successfully installed
Bluetooth Peripheral Device X No Driver found
Since it doesn't have a driver, I can't access the EVO 3D.
Any ideas as to where I can find this driver or otherwise get this to work?
USB transfer works, HTC Sync works over USB, bluetooth headsets work, the phone pairs via bluetooth to the PC but I can't do anything with it because there are no drivers.
Any ideas are greatly appreciated. Thanks!
ditto to the t, nice explanation of exactly whats happening.
Hahahaha works perfectly on my mac..
Do you have the htc drivers installed?
Edit: you do, did you try uninstalling them?
Same problem here man, i think its just 64-Bit because alot of other people are having the same problem with alot of devices while the 32-Bit guys are connecting without a hitch.
Windows bluetooth driver(s) for EVO 3D?
I'm having the same problem. I'm running Vista 32-bit. Where can I find the necessary bluetooth driver??
Thanks!
does any body has the solution??? I have the same problem, my laptop is HP dv5 1021et
I'm working on a carputer install with windows 7 32bit, and this is getting very frustrating. Has anyone contacted HTC on the issue? Glad to know I'm not the only one with this problem, but very disappointed to find there's no solution yet.
Edit....
Emailed HTC support, will come back with response.
Mine connected fine.

HTC's response.
Thank you for contacting HTC Technical support about the issue you are having with syncing your device by Bluetooth to your windows 7 PC. I do apologize that you have this issue with your device. You will want to make sure you have the most current Bluetooth drivers on your computer to try to connect your device by Bluetooth. When you connect your device with a vehicle Bluetooth system if it is compatible to sync over your contacts then it will but if it does not sync then it is possible it is not compatible. You will not be able to sync your information from your device to a PC via Bluetooth you will need to connect by USB cable and use HTC Sync to sync your information.
So it looks like there will be no data transfering, and it must be our Bluetooth devices don't have the proper drivers?
Clavoie- what Bluetooth dongle, or on-board Bluetooth device is windows using on your system?
Thanks!

Has anyone ever found a fix for this? I tried all of the above but to no avail, and it is frustrating to say the least. Fresh install of Windows 7 32bit over Vista Business.
Still no fix for this?
Is anyone having issue connecting an apple bluetooth keyboard? I am able to pair it but it doesn't connect. Currently running CM10.1 5/22 unofficial. I tried everything including Bluekeyboard JP and Teksoft's Blueinput. Strangely, I'm able to connect the keyboard to my phone which is running CM10.1.
I notice the same thing happens with anything that is HID. The Wiimote refuses to connect with "Last Error: no route to host" I suspect the bluetooth stack is either different or missing something that my phone has. Any ideas on how I can get it connected or if any of the 4.2.2 ROMs support HID?
I bought a bluetooth dongle on Amazon (ORICO BTA 403, CSR8510 A10 chipset) and installed it on my Windows 7 x64 computer.
The dongle installs fine and works perfectly with all my older phones but not with my Xperia S running Android 4.1.2.
Basically, if I install the automatic windows driver, and pair with the phone, windows complains about no drivers for the device, and I can't do anything with it.
If I install the supplied software (CSR Harmony wireless software stack) I can pair and the Xperia S is installed properly, the various audio services work (I can stream music to PC using BT), but I still can't send or receive files, either from PC to Phone or from Phone to PC.
The connection times out after a second and gives me a connectivity error. It's like the phone refuses to connect to the PC, both when transferring and receiving.
I don't know if the phone is the problem, it seems to not work only when doing file transfers with PC, if I try to transfer files to other phones or to my mac (which has built in BT) it works fine.
Is there any way to fix this issue? Any way to troubleshoot this issue to tell if the problem comes from the phone or the dongle?
Searching with google I can't find any solution, I just get lost into a sea of bluetooth problems which have nothing to do with what I'm experiencing.
By the way, using Airdroid instead of BT is not a fix.

your problem is bare and I think you can try these two solutions out:
1- Restart your phone and check whether your problem has solved or not. 2- Restart your windows and also turn off your Antivirus and firewall and try again.

1.Its not a phone its Headphones. 2.Restart made no difference plus Antivirus/firewall not the cause, seems to be a driver problem when installing from windows update! Ta all the same.
The problem is ****ty drivers from the manufacturer. I installed Bluesoleil and it worked perfectly. Another solution is to use the Windows stack by manually installing drivers from the MS Windows Mobile Suite (or whatever it's called, I don't remember) but that only supports file transfer.
