The HTC_IME Keyboard in Honeycomb is dependent on the Sense framework. There was an HTC_IME Mod keyboard released for phones which was a modded HTC keyboard but someone would have to the same for the tablet.
Bottom line, it won't be as simple as installing an apk.
the stock keyboard is difficult to use , i switched after one day of use to thumb keyboard and swift keyboard , and my opinion thumb keyboard is more useful in tablets , and ofc when i want to make some programming using my jetstream i use hacker's keyboard

The stock keyboard may be customised (Settings>Language & Input> Configure Input>Settings.
However, may I suggest a kool swype keyboard >> SwiftKey Tablet Keyboard. It reminds me of Swype on the Samsung S2

Hi,
Is it possible to get Sony Ericssson keyboard to CM7 ROM ?
From xperia mini pro system dump i found textinput-tng.apk i pushed it to /system/app but it doesn't show up in inputs..
Tried to install it...Nothing.
in the current freeXperia sources it is integrated, but not yet working correctly.
The backlight is still off.
In spite to correct layout settings the keyboard acts in a weird way.
I will soon look if there is something new in the mango sources, but freeXperia Team will definetly inform about a working smart keyboard as soon as it works
I spend many hours trying like you do. Unfortuenately without success so far
I have a Htc Magic.....is it possibile to install sonyericsson's keyboard on my phone????
I'm holding off on using CM7 until the stock sony keyboard can be used... as well as the sony camera app as well

It will need to be ported over so the SYM key will work. On stock rom, if you change the input method the SYM key stops working.
I was used Hardware Keyboard with Xperia S
(Next Time I use 'HW/KB' to call 'Hardware Keyboard')

and I used Tswipe Pro Keyboard App
When I'm Connect HW/KB to Xperia S
Tswipe can't use with HW/KB But Xperia S May use a Stock Keyboard software with HW/KB
I don't know why, I can't change language with HW/KB by othe KB app
(Tswipe can set 'Change Language' Key on HW/KB)
How Can I Fix it?
Help me please!
That's a framework thing. I was working on something to remedy that for AOKP, but got a bit distracted so it's all ideas now.
If I Remove Stock KB
it's May work? or not?

It won't. The stock keyboard uses some really ugly hacks to make it work, most other keyboards don't.
I was Freeze Stock Keyboard app
not work
I was Uninstall Stock Keyboard
not work
GIVE UP!!
T^T
I saw somewhere that in 2.3 OTG Keyboards only work in English.
That on ICS other languages will be supported.
If this is true I don't know... but might the the reason for your problem.
Looking for an android keyboard that has a wide spacebar. If you look at a decent physical PC keyboard or typewriter, the spacebar will be ~ 75% of the keyboard width.
Android keyboards are half of that. They sacrifice the spacebar so that they can shoehorn in more extraneous keys. That works okay if you only type with your thumbs, but if you have any touch typing skills it just leads to constant typos from hitting adjacent keys beside the narrow spacebar.
One could adapt to a narrow spacebar.. but that would build badit habits that impair your typing on PC keyboards. I am looking for an on screen keyboard that has a much wider spacebar. Or even better.. does anyone have an idea what code specifies key sizing (to mod an existing keyboard)
Any ideas?

Have you tried Swype? It's the only keyboard I use, across several devices and learning to do it is not that hard and it is very fast

Hi guys
I'm currently surfing the Web via Samsung Note 10.1" (old one with new firmware) and I'm kinda displeased with the thumb keyboard.
It does have a few nice features. But I prefer the prediction on my Z2 phone.
The question is: Does the Z2 Tablet have a split thumb keyboard?
Like this:

}
If yes, has this keyboard been ported to other Rom's yet?
And how do you like it?
Greetings
Haldi
Try installing SwiftKey. It's got amazing prediction and can switch between normal and thumb mode.
oh, i didn't know Swiftkey now has a thumb mode, gonna try that. thx.
Not sure how much I like that.... The prediction sure is flawless but you can't move it totally at the bottom
The sony keyboard that comes with Z2 tablet has 3 modes:
-full
-split thumb
-mini
All of them can be movable up and down and the mini can be moved accross the screen as well

I recently flashed my Samsung Galaxy S3 i9300 with AOSP NeatROM (4.4.4), previously I was using the stock ROM.
Problem:
NeatROM by Sale is great, but I really missed one thing, i.e. the Samsung keyboard and the predictive text. The keyboard layout by Samsung was excellent, keys were spaced to avoid typos but the AOSP Keyboard isn't as good as that and also it also doesn't have predictive text as good as Samsung's (though people say Samsung devices use SwiftKey for text prediction). I installed Super SwiftKey for the predictive text but the keyboard layout wasn't up to the mark (I went through all the themes) and due to buttons being close typos are becoming a headache.
Requirement:
I need a keyboard similar to the Samsung keyboard (i.e. has sufficient space between the rows) but with predictive text. So a theme for SwiftKey might do or if I could get the Samsung Keyboard on my phone on the current custom ROM, that'd be great.
