Sent from my HTC Flyer

Thank you for help.
I've found the way but is little bit tricky but it works
First think what we have to do is download android app "Jorte" to phone and then:
1. Set in windows reginal option, date type and global saparate ","
2. Make export file (*.csv -dos type with comma separate ) in outlook
3. By excel, adjust data layout according Jorte app calendar needs
4. Copy file to right place on SD card
5. Import events from file in side Jorte application
In from of my is improvments this solution form few setps to olny one step
Idea is use excel visual basic to make export file by outlook and adjust data layout and copy to memory card on phone

Hi,
you can use CalendarSync.
The app can import .vcs files from outlook directly without any hassle and manual work.
CalendarSync

Sounds good
When I checked then I'll back
Is not Free of charge and is hard to check how exactly it works

Does it work with mail ? It's not clear from their site, but since you use the same login, it could be very interesting to have gmail with push.
EDIT: Answered my own question.. No mail
Thats really cool! And about time! Too bad I have a lifetime subscription to GooSync which I love!!!
Works AWESOME.
Chanegs are updated in about 3 seconds either way. Also no duplicate appointments like some other google calendar sync programs.
no work with diamond.. :'(

Can't post a cab file, you have to enter login information
First before you do anything make a backup of your contacts and calendar!!!!
Okay, to make a setup cab is very easy, just follow the steps:
1) Download Scotchua Sample Google Sync XML.zip file
2) Extract the XML file "_setup.xml" which is inside the zip.
3) Open the file in Notepad (or an xml editor of your choice) not Wordpad.
4) Change "Enterusernamehere" and "Enterpasswordhere" to your actual username or password. (username is [email protected])
5) Save the file.
6) Use a compression program (personally i use Alzip, but any will do) and add the _setup.xml file to an archive, and save as file type ".cab"
7) Now you should have _setup.cab or something similar. You can name it whatever you want.
8) Copy the cab file to your device, and run it.
9) Your server should be setup.
can you only have 1 ativesync? i already have activesync account for my school email.
Can you sync just oneway? Just Google to WM or in other direction? I need the WM Contacts in Google and not the old Google contacts in WM...
does it perform OTA sync automatically?
Google sync - kinda cool but lacking
Does anyone know if there's some secret way to show birthdays in Google Contacts? I've never seen that data imported, whether using a CSV import, or with the new ActiveSync, although it puts the birthday events in Google Calendar.

I agree that i think that's nice and easy, but they're gonna have to step up the offering as far as the way contacts are handled before this is really a viable option. It is only the first public beta though so i'm sure more features are coming.
Unless I am missing something, it would be nice if it could sync more than just one calendar.
I get the following error
support code 0x85010004
I hate the fact that it syncs my contacts to lastname, firstname. I´m from Germany and am used to Firstname Lastname. I hope they implement that option in one of the next versions =)

3 Questions

1. I have Google Contacts and Phone Contacts. How do I copy Phone Contacts to Google? (pls don't tell me to export to CSV and than import to Google! )
2. Calendar doesn't import all my calendars. They don't show up in settings either. If it helps, the ones that don't show up are shared ...
3. How do I stop certain apps to initiate at boot?
I have some more questions, but the 1st is the one I need most at the moment .

export to csv and then import to google...
sorry to tell you that, but that was the way i found is the only way to go. there is an app in the market (forgot the name), which made me wipe in the end, as it made my hero crash constantly. afaik this is a general problem with that app and the hero. forgot the name of the app, sorry.

use autostarts or startup auditor from market, both paid. i use startups, works great, not only for boot but also for other triggers which could start apps.

good luck, but keep in mind you have to do the csv thinggy only once, so before you search 4 hours for a solution bite the apple and take that 20 minutes to do the csv procedure...
1) The app kendong2 is referring to is called 'Export Contacts' and I've got it working fine on MCR3.0 with no crashes etc.
The process for me was pretty simple. Exported csv of contacts, opened it in notepad on PC to check it, closed it without saving and uploaded it to Google. Google even helped to 'consolidate' entries where I already had a gmail address for someone, and offered to put the gmail address alongside the phone contact details.
Try this. As kendon says, it only needs done once. Then you can uninstall the app. You also get the benefit that even if you wipe or lose the phone, just put your gmail details in on install and all your contacts appear again by 'magic'
Sorry, can't help with calendar issue. Does Hero support shared calendars?
Any other questions, just ask
HTH
sorry is wasn't clear on that, what i meant:
there is an app that converts the phone contacts to google contacts, which didn't work for me. and from what i read it has a general problem with the hero...
idk about an app to export to csv (i did it with outlook), but that should work fine, as it does only READ the phonebook on the hero, which shouldn't have much potential for crashes

Edit android contacts on computer?

Hey everyone, searched through the forums and on google and couldn't find an answer. I got a HTC Incredible S and want to edit my android contacts on my computer.
I thought there would be an app with a web interface or something similar I could edit my contacts on my computer.
I have HTC Sync, but don't want to use Outlook to edit/add contacts.
Any ideas?

Kinda curious why you want to use pc to edit when you can it with your phone. Is it because you want to use a physical keyboard?
Have you tried Gmail? Your contacts are auto-sync'd with your Google account by default; just use the gmail Contacts interface to edit them quickly and easily. That's what I do.

Thanks for your suggestion, Just tried it then, it looks like a very promising app but has a few glitches which I suppose lays uniquely with HTC phones.
I can add/edit a contact all-right however when I delete a contact and refresh the list it comes back up.

Yeah, have a lot of contacts to add and don't want to use the phones touchscreen. Also I find HTC's interface to delete a contact a little convoluted and have a lot of old contacts I want to remove.

I've been trying to get my contacts from the phone via GMAIL using the Google account associated with my phone and cannot seem to find the contacts interface. I'll look through it again, maybe I missed something
EDIT: Found It, but it doesn't have all my current contacts in there. Maybe it's because the contacts are stored on the sim card and both programs cannot get sufficient rights.
I deal with this all the time after converting folks to Android. Here's the thing:
The contacts system on Android is very powerful and flexible. There are 3 places where "traditional" contacts are stored, and on top of that, every app can have contact records that integrate with your built-in contacts.
SIM card contacts - contacts stored on the SIM card (duh)
Phone contacts - contacts stored on the phone's internal memory
Gmail contacts - contacts stored and synced on Google's cloud
All these contacts can be found in the contacts app - but you probably have phone contacts or SIM card contacts, that's why you can't find all of them in Gmail.
Here's what I suggest (I do this with every one who gets a new Android phone):
(based on how it looks when I do it, but how it looks when you do it depends on your android version, skin, gmail theme, etc.)
export all your contacts to a file on the sd card
contacts > menu > import/export > export to sd card
[*]copy this file to your computer
mount your phone's sd card to computer and copy file (should be called something like 00001.vcf or something like that)
[*]delete all contacts from the phone (this is so that you don't have duplicates and so that it doesn't get confusing)
settings > applications > manage applications > all > contacts storage > clear data
[*]go to gmail contacts and import the file
gmail.com > mail (top left) > contacts > more > import > choose file
[*]edit your contacts from your PC on a full sized keyboard for maximum comfort
hmm...
[*]make sure your phone can see your gmail contacts
contacts > menu > display options > choose contacts to display > google > system group: my contacts, facebook > all contacts, etc. etc.
[*]hit the thanks button

oh, and make sure that every time you add a new contact from now on that it is synced with google.

Nice guide, thanks. A lot of people don't realise that Sense ROMs don't sync with Google automatically, so they're not being backed up to the cloud. I'm sure a lot of people will find your guide helpful.

THIS. May also tell any new users to make sure they open Contacts and hit menu->More->Settings->Contacts Storage and pick their main Google account as the default location for new contacts, that way anyone they add later gets backed up to Google Contacts automatically.
(The simple fact that I was able to sync my Contacts with Gmail with my old iPhone and 3 different Android phones is the only reason I've been able to keep the same contacts list for 4 years or so. Minus some idiocy that Sense sticks in your Notes, it's worked super well, too, saved me many times from losing numbers.)
I like Gmail. When you change a contact on your phone GMail get changed as well and vice versa.

This is due to CM roms removing this code from the OS as they remove all Google based coding. Same reason there is no sim option

That's odd. CM7 is AOSP and syncs automatically to your Google account. I've been using CM7 since the inception and never been prompted.

Only if you install gmail. Remember cm roms don't use Google apps by default.
Also don't forget that CM is based on AOSP but they do alot of code changes so its not pure AOSP.
There is a software called as MobileGo. You can edit your phone contacts.
Remote web desktop
I use a plugin for my email client (thunderbird) to sync my gmail contacts, so i can edit them in thunderbird
The plugin is called: Google Contacts

Yeah, but I DON'T want my contacts to be synced with gmail or any other cloud.
I want them synced with Outlook. And I want them edited in Outlook (see above).
Or if not in Outlook, in any other computer-based address book or contacts editor.
And if my contact is named Đuro Šeširđija, and I want all those crazy characters on phone too.
And I want him to have picture I assigned, not his avatar on gmail/FB/whatever profile.
I humbly apologize if I was rude.
For now latest Kies will do...
I'm been having problems syncing with google for a few days now dont know whats going on wiped my phone thinking all my contacts were backed up online but for some reason there no longer there but was there a couple of months back? also tried to restore and no luck
I have my contacts synced to google contacts, you can edit them in gmail and it will show up on your android device. And it helps because you never have to backup your contacts.

How to transfer Calendar appointment and call log from Windows Mobile to Android?

My WM touch 3G is no longer function properly, I plan to switch to Sony Experia S. It comes a problem that how all my data stored in WM transfer to android, especially appointments and call log in my old WM transfer to the new android. I usually backup my WM calendar data by PIM backup and the backup file is .csa. Originally I plan to import this .csa file to Outlook 2010, then export to Business Calendar Apps or Gmail. However I find this .csa file cannot be recognized by Outlook. Could anyone kindly help to guide me how to export my WM calendar and import to Business Calendar Apps or Gmail? I would prefer to export it to Business Calendar Apps as I don't want to store my personal calendar in google server. I am also looking for how to transfer the call lot too, I try to keep it as possible. I appreciate for your kindly help. Thank you.
Do anyone know how to solve the problem? Thanks.
If you use Bitpim then I believe you have the option to save certain things as Excel files. Would that work for you?

Thank you for your suggestion. However, I use the build-in calendar in Windows Mobile 6.1. I think it is probably not Bitpim. I googled many times and searched XDA threads that still don't know how to export the WM calendar to android.
Try looking up Bitpim. It's a program for data transfer and media exchange. The website will tell you if it's compatible with your phone. It has a few options for exporting from devices.

Mobile Backup Tool For Samsung Mobile Phones

Guys,
I need help to find a mobile backup tool , as my company CEO is always complaining for the mission contacts ..whenever we change his cell phone and restore the backup he complains alot bout missing contacts......please help me and recommend me a good software tool for samsung mobile backups.
Follow these steps to backup your contacts on Android.
Go to Settings > Accounts > Google.
Tap the account name at the top.
Make sure there is a check mark for Contacts.
All your contacts will be backed up to your Google account continuously. Note that the exact names of menus can vary between different manufacturers and Android versions. If you don't have Internet access on your phone, follow these steps.
Open Contacts.
Tap the three vertical dots on the top-right.
Select Import/export.
Tap Export to storage.
A pop-up will tell you where your contacts will be exported. Tap OK.
Open the file manager app on your phone. If you don't have one, you can download ES File Explorer.
In the file manager, navigate to the folder where the contacts are stored. If you aren't sure, search for vcf and the contacts file will show up.
Copy this file and store it somewhere safe. If you ever want to get this set of contacts back then you'll need to use the import function in contacts, to import the data from this file.
