What are the best paid apps for x8?
dont tell me where to get it from
just which ones you use and why
Titanium Backup Pro-The free version is also very good, but the paid has some extras, like converting system apps to user apps and you can have more than one backup of each app.
Root Explorer-A must-have app for all root users, you can read and write all folders, change the permissions, view databases (.db files) and much more.
NFS Shift-It´s a cool game, but note that there are different versions for Eclair+Froyo and Gingerbread.
whats the function of converting system apps to user ones?
root explorer.
need it everytime lol.
to copy ax8mt, edit build.prop etc

I have few questions, I don't know if they have been allready answered, I tried searching but with no luck....anyway:
1. Is it possible to extract installation files of app. I downloaded from Android market so I can store themn on PC,so I don't have to download them every time I hard reset my phone.
2. How to export/import Opera Mobile 10.1 bookmarks.
3. Is it possible to disable option in home screen "tap and hold" to add more widgets, because I often excedently keep messing up order of widgets in my pocket and even when I scrool with finger.
4. How to uninstall or at least delete icons in menu of preinstalled demo games and apps.

You can use Root Explorer and have your phone rooted so you can delete the apps you dont need or copy them from system to sdacard and of course their icon will disappear.
Search in forum about root and deleting apps.
Or look here... is easy to found if you look for: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=840356

Uhmm... They r not the same, titanium is like an app manager and root explorer is a explorer, like astro. Yes, you can uninstall with titanium but for unintalling system apps or those that come by default you may need to be root. Havent tried to do it with titanium without been root but it think that you need to have your phone rooted. Just try it if it doesnt work you will have to root to delete those apps :S
And.. Why u dont whant to root?

with rooted phone, to uninstall some DEMO SE apps. and games is it enough to go to /system/apps and delete .apk files that I don't need or is there some more files and folders that belong to those apps. I want to delete....
Yea, delete the apps from /system/app and restart your phone. After that go to Phone settings -> Applications -> Manage Applications, you will see some apps with default icons, and default names like "com.android.****" - uninstall them, and there you go. Nothing left. You can also start Titanium Backup, and clear app cache to be 100% sure that nothing is left in the memory.
I need to know how to convert User apps to System apps. I know Titanium Backup can do it but I don't want to pay 7 bucks for the pro version.
Do I just move the APK from the /data/app to /system/app?
I am on a deodexed ROM so no odex files to move.
If I convert these user apps to system apps will it raise the OOM value? That's what I am after really.
GO Launcher gets killed way to easily. And while I am at it, I what to move GO SMS and Miren Browser if this will work.
If you have problems with Go Launcher quitting, then try the options called "System persistent" and "Prevent Force Close" in the app settings if you haven't tried that.
Yea I have that selected. The thing is, my phone doesn't have alot of memory. I have about 120 MB of ram with all apps closed and only about 40 MB free till android kills apps. So only really have about 80mb.

Friend see this app, can move to system, is good, see the oficial thread in samdroid
forum.samdroid.net/f10/apps2rom-root-move-your-updated-applications-system-rom-5690/
Once you move the apk to /system/app, remember to set the permissions to rw-r--r-- and reboot. I'm not sure if this will change the oom value or not, but I think it does. If it doesn't work, try V6 Supercharger & apply the bulletproof launcher. It may help with other memory issues as well. You can also "bulletproof" other apps, but I'm not quite sure how as I haven't played with those options.

maybe you have to generate the .odex files for those new system apps, you moved to system!
like this:
start your terminal emulator and type:
to change in the right directory
cd /system/app
use root rights with su and generate the data
su
dexopt-wrapper Vending.apk Vending.odex
or
dexopt-wrapper YouTube.apk YouTube.odex
and dont forget to set the read write permissions the right way
no reboot and wipe the dalvik cache!
For those not converted apps, how did you convert them?
.. maybe really try to move them not with /system/app mover, but by copy pasting them in a file explorer.

Troubles in Making user apps as system apps
Sent from my HTC Desire X using XDA Free mobile app
I have a YP-G70 (with hardware home button), running stock 2.2 and rooted. When I try to use adfree, android complains about not enough space for the hosts file in /etc. Is there a solution for that other than installing custom ROM (I can't do that for now, for various reasons...)
Thanks!
If you have root, you can get Titaninum Backup Pro and use it to convert some system apps to user apps.
Some apps that are safe to convert are Email, Memo, MiniDiary, Calculator and Calendar. There are some more, but that should give you enough space.

I couldn't convert minidiary or calculator --- TBP keeps running. But even if I could, together they don't have release enough space for the hosts file (about 1MB). But I was able to convert the Think Office app, which is +8MB, and after that I was able to copy over the hosts file to /etc.
THANKS FOR YOUR HELP!
[Some shameless promotion here ]
Actually this is one of the problem I am trying to tackle in the next update of my ROM. A testing version of my ROM can now have over 40MB free space in /system by installing various Samsung apps and Google apps to /data.
Hey guys, (yes my device is rooted)
I downloaded greneenify app and I wanted to hybernate apps such facebook, maps etc. just any system app I want to. But you can't do that when these apps are system apps which they are. So I wanted to put them as user apps but I don't know how to do so. I'm using titanium backup and there's only an option to make an app system app not the other way around. I was searching for some apps I could use for my purpose and I've found one but I need busybox to make it work and I'm having issue with installing it. Everytime I try to install busybox it ends up with restarting my cellphone and that's all. I've tried out two different busybox apps but none of them really worked. My majer problem and goal is to make those apps as user apps and not busybox, but if that means I do need busybox for making so, any advice is appericated, thank you.

I install games from Play Store, these games are always with big size. I want to have a backup of these games (apps) as APK and Data Files to share it instead of downloading it many times.
I found many web sites to download games APK and DATA but I don't know how they make it???
Hi Friends,
Can anyone help me?
The apk's can be extracted with SDMaid. Open the app, click on appcontrol, than search your app you want, click on it and click: extract apk.
For the data, just go to Android/obb or Android/data with your file explorer

Titanium Backup does all of that (data too), but it needs root. I found myself quote satisfied using this tool, however be careful if you want to restore a custom ROM with the saved data and apks you used on another one, there might be some incongruences with the system apps that may harm your phone.
Ciuffy's SM-G900F CM 12.1 spirit hath marked this way.
