hi, just wanted to ask for opinions if changing to another OS, mozarts wp7, would be an upgrade from xperia x10.
anyone with wp7 i need help.
did you regret that you changed OS?? from android to wp7?
or is it a much better choice?
things to consider if i change to wp7:
1. applications.. i dont have an idea about the line up of apps for wp7
will it be as many and as fun as android apps?
2. battery life
3. smoothness of web browsing and overall interface.
THANKS
Why don't you just find out yourself?
I personally wouldn't try WP7 but I got my MIUI to look like WP7, and believe me, my friends think I have a windows phone 7.
If you want to emulate the UI, just use Launcher 7. Anyways happy flashing if you decide to changge to WP7

ive tried launcher 7 with people and contact apps from wp7.. im not really just after the UI.
x10 has been an old phone and would just like to try something new.
but i need opinions so that i dont end up buying a downgrade from xperia x10
Change x10i: YES,hd7 is powerful in hardware-not too much but deserves it-.
Change android:NO NO NO,-even i like wp7 UI- android is much more customizable than wp7. i've seen some wp7 threads in XDA and was totally lost. i think developing wp7 is much more complicated.can i o/c in wp7? i won't ever give up o/c.
So if u have another choice that can run android. i recommend u the upgrade.
If not, u just keep this highly customizable phone. i never dreamed that my mobile phone will get 2 new ROMs per day.fantastic huh? I even don't know which one to use for this week.
Did u try the new MIUI? 1.9.16. DO that and you will forget all about that Old,laggy X10i which u bought one day.
Omar
ask mr. patchy patch he switched to wp7 and could give you a more objective opinion instead of a bunch of people who haven't even used it

Not to knock solid out of the box thinking but working hard to get microsoft-born things onto Android phones... just doesn't feel right. Have you no sense of rivalry?
Now doing something along the lines of the opposite, different story.

I don't see anything wrong with this. He didn't say port the OS over, he said just the look Did anyone scoff at MIUI? Anyway, this really is a theme request, which I believe as already been done.
This looks like more fun

you are correct Evil
You gotta love all the Android fanbois that wince at the very mention of Microsoft. Is Ballmer really all that scary?
So tell me, what video game system do yall use? lol
Hatin' on Microsoft because you think it's cool now that you're an Android fanboy is incredibly stupid.
At first, I didn't like the WP7 interface but the more I've seen it, the more useful it seems. Don't be surprised if you see a bunch of Android fanboys go back to WP7. It already has advantages over Android out of the box - like Exchange support that doesn't suck.
I'd love to see a WP7 launcher.

Does anyone else find it funny that the iPhone interface looks ancient in comparison to Android and Windows Phone 7?
*snicker*
I really think Microsoft has a winner with that interface. I'm not sure on the OS or what the market/developer acceptance will be yet, but I'll pick one up to compare to Android.

well actually i've studied 5 years programming in pascal and c++ languages, so i know the basics...but i've understood that it's not my job, too boring for me
sorry for the OT
I love Android and I still think this is a cool idea. Besides, why dis the man's idea
if you don't like it just don't help.
Also the other windows based theme is based off of Win7 for the desktop,
not windows phone 7.
And to the OP this may need to be in the themes section,
but we'll leave that to the mods.

Hi...
As you see, it is possible to flash the HD2 with Android, Bada and WP7.. but is it also possible to flash the IPhone Os on the HD2? This would be great!
mfg
kvn
No and for 99,99 % it won't be possible.
theres already a thread for this... And is it possible... It depends how you ask it.... THe HD2 is powerful enough to run it but since iOS is a closed operating system theres no real way of creating drivers and such for it.. Seeing as its only ment to run on the Iphone/iPod and iTouch there all very similar to each other while the HD2 is not
hmm if the hd2 is powerfull enough... there must be any way to flash the iOS =). I belive in the chine hackers =)..
hakuchi18v what do you think is the best OS for the hd2?

Android and WP7 both work fine...
Android has a better support base with the HD2 since everything works right after it is installed while WP7 works but you have to activate it to use the live services unless you side load everything and at some point that becomes a nuisance..
I switch between WP7 and Android... To me android has the benefit of the amount of apps that are available and they have more quality and unique apps compared to WP7 panoramic apps that gets boring real quick.. Same layout just different name and content...
If iOS was running on the HD2 ill use it as long as you can use all the normal functions like on an iPhone.. Probably even use it as the preferred OS on it
But it won't and for now ill keep switching between android and wp7
how is it possible to aktivate ph7 on the hd2? Oo... i had it on my hd2 but i cant use the appstore... so switched back to android....
Ok but witch android rom do u use?
You need to get an activation key from Microsoft once its activated you have all the live services including the market available to you....
as for the Android rom I'm using the gingerbread asop... Its a vanilla rom.. Without all the crapware some of the other ones have...
and how can i get an activation code?? And can i use them with the cracked wp7 version? Oo...
Can you give me a link to the rom u use?

To get the activation code you have to call Microsoft and tell them that you bought and HTC windows Phone and that its asking for an activation key every time you try to sign into Windows Live.... Some are saying that they're asking for an IMEI number and that they give them their HD2's and they give them the Activation Key while others say they arent giving them... SO it really depends on the person your talking to. but if at first you don't succeed try try again and try some more.. at some point some body will be more then willing

DFT

CWM vs DFT
CWM is a recovery tool that needs to be flashed using MAGLDR it gives you recovery options like in a real Android phone
While DFT is simply flashing it without having a Recovery option

You know the Androids big Problem? I heard a lot about the weak security.
I dont know how much safety WP or Linux can provide, but Android seems to be very easy to hack and run spyware and something on it.
Yeah at the moment we can laugh about it, but in a few years we will cry, it won't be funny when a virus sents 1000 sms to your contacts and you have to pay it...

Hi guys
Please help is there a droid os to load on my Mozart ?
I feel wm7 is not user friendly
I am new to windows and feel it is less superior ,therefore I'd like to get a new os
Please assist
Jesley69
You have to buy the phone with the OS you want... There is no Android available to HTC Mozart and i don't believe it will be available soon or ever
I dont understand people. Buy the HTC Desire if you want Android. Its basically the same phone.
I actually traded my Desire HD for my new Mozart and feel it's more superior as a phone. For all my other Android needs, I do that on my tablet, where it should be.
Hi
I didn't buy this phone got on contract, my friends have the HD and their apps are excellent.
1.Where can i find?buy this new os?
2. what do you suggest as an os for it?
Regards
jesley69
t's just you not knowing how to use the phone / which apps to buy. If you asked, we might help you, however noone is gonna help you screwing the phone with Android.
You cannot change the OS on the phone. The one present is the most suited anyway
the apps are as follows that i would like to install
whatsapp _what do you suggest i do
mxit
the phone says for every thing id like to download
cannot download this file
WP does not support.jad files
can i perhaps install java?
You cannot install java/jar/jad (they're the same thing) on WP7. You can only install apps from the Marketplace or if you have unlocked phone you can deploy apps from your PC. (xap files)
just passing by. i wouldnt swap my mozart for an iphone or an samsung galaxy s2 fyi. i dont like lag. i like smooth and buttery. i kid not.
but no. you cant load android on it. get used to it and youll love it. especially mango
cheers.
@jesly69, android is coming very soon, i would think in the following 2 months
check this threads

and yes, android is more mature and better, it will take at least 2 major updates after mango, for wp7 to come close to android

I really haven't seen anything on running wp7 on the fascinate. Is this even possible? I really like the OS and wish I could dual boot it on the device. I know the HD2 runs windows phone and android but i'm not sure what, from a hardware or development standpoint, allows wp7 to run on a device.
bump?
It is but no roms/mods for it because nobody really wants to use Windows on an Android phone
I admit, they do have things I like but Android for me!
You can use Launcher7 from the Play Store and have a customizable Windows looking launcher

Yea I had a hole slew of wp7 apps to emulate the look and feel but it ended up slowing things down and just giving me a feeling clutter. So next best thing would be to get a rom. Oh well
Is possible to run wp on our phones ?
short answer is no, it cant
long answer is it would need massive support from WP users (there are not much of them since it is kinda dead platform and they have no reason to be interested in this particular device, tbh, there are nexuses, xperias, and htc flagships like one or hox+, why would they want dx?), also its very tricky to do that, i think only phones running originaly wp was transformed into android devices, and the one with best support for this, HD2 was after several years able to fully run android without needing wp, this phone will never be as popular as HD2 (i dont mean it bad, but long time ago, market wasnt full of different phones, there were only few of them and HD2 was one of most popular, ofc there are others transformed devices, but the point is clear...)
anyway, why would you want wp for dx?
I expected this question "Why i ask wp on dx" xD.I just wanted to try, to work with wp 1 week or more...Just to see how is it.I like the style on wp and the lumia phones style. Before to buy my DX i was wonder to buy lumia or dx.Anyway im shure that i made the right choise WP cant be compaire with android.

gesendet mit HTC Desire X + mySENSE-dx RC3.5
WP or Android
Few years ago I had a HTC Diamond2 (Topaz) phone which has Win 6.5 OS.
Some guys tried to port android on it and it was a very nice try, I remember that I tried every build on it. Main problem as I remembered was the kernel and memory management...
So even Win would be an open source the porting of an OS would be only an experience and nothing more... If you want a true WP phone you would buy one..
