cant download files - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have been trying to download files on my phone but keep getting "download unsuccessful" message even when using barcode scanner or trying to download files on the forum.
can anyone help.

Are you using app DroidWall to block any connections or killing anything with a task manager of sorts?

That's for apps only.
Media scanner is a system process.
Whats the purpose for wanting to stop this?

Rescan Media Root.
Our can take a long time - which if noticeable if your phone needs/generates frequent reboots.

Thanks for the tip but even with this option enabled, no dice. It really isn't the end of the world, I did look into this before and couldn't find solution. It may be some obscure setting I have enabled somewhere or other, just can't find it.
Some times download procedure doesn't work. Opera never fail.

I tried downloading something off of adfly and it usually works but I also had issues downloading ROMs and mixtapes from online which I always had no problem with on WiFi before

Zip files are not native to the device and are not recognized as valid files. You need to download an app that recognizes zip files like estrong file explorer then try redownloading.

Is it that you can't dl any type of file? What about apps? I ran into a somilar problem with a HTC inspire. There was a folder to delete that fixed it. There's a post around here somewhere for that.

Not really sure if this is gonna work, try installing Astro file manager, then go to "preferences" (or "options", idk, I have the app in spanish) and select the option "Web browser downloader" (or something like that)
Since I did that, I don't remember having issues to download any kind of file.

Do you have apps2sd setup? Sometimes they won't install there even though you can move manually.

Plenty of space but not installing

Hi all,
My problem is that I'm not able to install any apps at the moment. The app is only 10mbs (antutu), it's downloading but when it comes to install I get an error msg. Insufficient space available.
However my sd card has more than 5gb, and Internal mem has 500mb. I have the mod that switches these memory as well.
Why am I getting this error msg and how can I fix it?
Thanks.

Use root explorer and go to system\apps\
Delete auntutu or something similer to this program.
Ex. Autuntu.odex

Try installing Lucky patcher. And just open it. It will most probably clear the problem. Easiest method.
