after cynogen mod is ported by awesome ace devs many one asking for miui
i know it is not gonna easy
but if any dev port miui launcher then it give half of experience of miui
i tell after see that it is already ported to galaxy 3 as our device is more powerfull than it
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1133407
devs please check this link and from this please port to our device
Im not sure this is really worth it as miui launcher requires a diferent framework to all other roms. If your going that far you might as well port the whole thing. Have you tryed to flash the zip?

If it will work it probably best to use cyanogen. The zip has the framework in it. Just make sure you backup first. It maywell work straight off the bat. But i very much doubt it will on standard firmware.
(Edit) scratch that, this is designed for 2.2 and will not work on gingerbread. Also galaxy 3 is ldpi not mdpi. This will also make it look bad on are phone.

Well nothing to argue about, i'd like to see a port for the MIUI launcher as well. Even though of preorder the Xiaomi phone, but i have no use for 2 phones xD

There's already a MIUI Launcher available on XDA dude, check this out..
Well it aint really MIUI's original launcher.. Close, but not the real thing. You might want to use some additional theme though.. considering not all icons are themed out of the box.
But Im quite satisfied with it, runnin smooth on CM7 without any FCs whatsoever.

I was wondering if there are any developers who are willing to try to get the miui ROM on the N1 and Evo over onto the vibrant. I would love to have this on my phone, and I'm sure there are other people who would like this to be possible too.

Yes, I have seen your theme and I have to say. Good work, however like you said it is a theme but having the entire ROM would be even better but I'm not trying to smash your work or anything just some insightful thinking that's all
Heck yeah man! i would love a MIUI rom for the vibrant!! i wish one is ported to it soon =/
Only problem is that MIUI is a froyo based ROM, and froyo isn't fully functioning on the vibrant yet. It will be much easier to port it over once Samsung releases the official froyo update and we can grab the drivers. Once that happens, though, I would LOVE to see MIUI on the vibrant! I got a chance to play with it on my buddy's droid and it's awesome

yes but correct me if i am wrong eugenes froyo rom through odin is working the only thing that is still wrong with it is that the home and back buttons are switched but like i said i think i am wrong but even if i am wrong cant a dev re-map the buttons when creating/ building MIUI? also was the EVO on 2.2 when they were able to get MIUI? i just havent had time to go check all of the threads.

Yes, anything that had a port of miui has froyo.. The galaxy s line of phones can't get anything but the stock roms to work.. eugene has just removed most of the touchwiz.. After we get a full built from source aosp rom running you can expect some custom ui ports but for the moment all we have is touchwiz or most touchwiz removed..

Im going to try to build from aosp, but this thing seems really tempermental,i thought i bricked it a few times just trying to flash bionix fusion. I was stuck at just a black screen, nothing worked, and my laptop kept saying the usv device has malfunctioned. I ended up plugging it intoace my desktop and booted into download mode blind, after 4 tries it went to download mode, and it flashed back to stock successfully with odin, then i flashed the rom the right way.
basically,if you have a dell d600 laptop, save yourself the frustration of getting Odin to work and use a different computer. I tried on mine and my brother's,both did the same thing.

Well froyo is supposed to come in November.
So I'm hoping that sometime in December we will get froyo ROMs emerging (CM6 will probably be one of the first).
I just hope some dedicated people at least try to get MIUI on the Vibrant/Galaxy S/EPIC/Captivate/Fascinate. Because if they get one of the Galaxy S phones running, then it will greatly help, the rest of the series.
Is it possible to port the Gingerbread MIUI over to the Aria? or even just the notification pulldown?
Cm7 is gingerbread ... look through the themes and apps threads and I think there is a theme for 2.2 if you don't want to flash cm7.. you may need cm6 though, I can't remember

However, MIUI... is MIUI; different ROMs. He's not asking for CM7.
As far as MIUI is concerned, you could try.

Yeah and its only running on armv7 devices too. I think that's a big issue too.
I was really just testing out the ROM kitchen and seeing how much of a port it could do.
I also tried porting a hero froyo ROM (another gsm armv6 device) and apparently I am not smart enough to figure it out yet.

I was just looking for that thread! I couldn't remember who it was and was wanting to ask them how they managed to get it booted. I guess a mod must have deleted "dead" threads because I was looking for the cm6 build with fm radio for the floyo hero port and couldn't find it either :/
If it was just some dragging and dropping or editing some text files I could probably handle it. Or possibly if I knew what a tmp boot.img was... or status 0... or status 7...
You devs simply amaze me.
And since I'm already rambling.... has any one ever, or is it even possible to, build an aosp ROM from source for the liberty?
Yeah, MIUI is cool but the HDPI/MDPI thing and the ARMv6 kills chances of getting a port. Oh well. I love CM.
An AOSP ROM would be too close to CM for most people/devs to put the time in, in my opinion.

porting miui wont be the same as compiling cm or aosp as its closed source. need to decompile and recompile everything one by one. moreover originally its only for armv7 with hdpi, will be tedious job to port to ace which is armv6 and mdpi
Anyways , if it's AOSP you want then it's AOSP you'll get

To be fair, of what i can find out there is no true miui port to mdpi anyway, greenmods came closest with the galaxy 3 and even that isnt a real port. it is old work now no one works on MIUI
Well i'm back... finally finished my exams and got some time for myself.
But i have a bit of bad news. I've been studying android and how it's build and how it works and i'm afraid this might be an impossible port to make for now. I've looked into the Galaxy 3 port and it's not an actual port. It's just the framework. So it is possible to port apps from the rom but they might not work fully because of incompatible libs.
Now about the libs, they are compiled specifically for a type of processor (in miui case armv7) which have some instructions built in. While armv7 may run armv6 libs it's not possible the other way around. So even if we got the phone to boot, and got the launcher and a few miui apps running it wouldn't be miui.
I see that SWEATTAIMI is still working to complete the port of the framework and i wish him the best of luck but i will have to step down since i am working on other android projects that are more likely to come to an end than this.

Try yourself, take any Sense ROM from other armv6 device (for example HTC Wildfire S), use boot.img/other libs from CM7 and it should work.
yea i also think about that but i think when developers would really want to do this, they would do this ;D as you can see, we have great developers who are porting miui to our galaxy, and everyone was saying ,, miui won't be able for galaxy ace" and boom and we have cm9, not offical, but we have so why we can't have sense ? ^^
Sense uses a lot of resources. It makes our phone slower.
