Easy printing from the tab? Have tried several apps, missing functions! - Galaxy Tab 10.1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have a printer(older HP Colour, not eprint) connected directly to my router and have tried serveral apps on the tab to print from the following apps, without any luck.
-Gallery
-Polaris Office
-Gmail
-Webbrowser
Printbot works, but not from within the app. Only by choosing a file from file manager.
Cloud Print works, but doesn't print from Gallery, Polaris Office nor Webbrowser.
Have also tried Printershare, with bad test print, and
Have anyone got an app that practically works on their tab?

Printer Share works flask flawlessly for me, but I'm primarily printing to an Epson Artisan 810 (fairly recent kit). I also have an Epson print app that was built for Android. Maybe there is an HP specific printer app that supports your printer?

Solved, 95%
After several attempts I finally got print to work as I wanted.
1.First I set up Google Cloud print in Chrome on the PC (to get my local printers/drivers)
2.Installed Cloud print on the tab.
3.Installed PrinterShare on the tab and chose Google Cloud Printers in setup.
Now you can choose between the same printers as you have on your pc.
From PrinterShare I can choose to print easily between:
Pictures in Gallery
Web pages
Calendar
Contacts
Messages, SMS and Viber.
Call log
Gmail
Google Docs
The only thing I miss is printing from directly from Polaris Office and when I try to print a *.docx file I get render error in PrinterShare.
Anyway, finally got some practical use of my tab

direct printing via BT
hi, I too am using printershare to print directly to a hp460 via bluetooth, without needing to have a computer connected to the printer. I'm guessing it would have worked via wifi also, however I don't have a network printer to try it on.
Some files that did have a render prob seem to work better using cortado. However Cortado alone didn't want to connect to my printer until after I installed printershare

Yes, as far as I know a program called discover pro allowed you transfer your files to your phone without a cable(via wifi), but I don't think it'll be recognized by iTunes...
Yet, hero doesn't need iTunes to sync music at all, you just copy your music to the folder and it'll find it.
Hope these may help.

Sent Photos from Phone to Tab

Does anyone know of a good way(hopefully automated/automatic) way to send photos from my phone to the tab 10.1? The camera on the phone is a lot better than the tabs built in camera, and so is the portability of the phone to take photos.
I have reccently found titanium sync media, and while it offers the option to sync with dropbox, I would like to know if there is app that doesnt have to upload to the cloud first. wifi or even bluetooth would be acceptable.
thanks
might be a good idea to tell us what phone you have...
I am using an inspire 4g, running GB...
You can do it easily with sugarsync.
your photos on your phone will be automatically saved in the cloud in your "magic briefcase" folder.
On your tab, locate the pictures folder into the app, long press on it and choose : '"sync to this device"
Don't forget to go in the options, set the parameters to be gentle with your battery.
You could also send it to yourself through e-mail.
thanks for the suggestions, I am aware of cloud options, currently using titanium media sync + dropbox to sync phone to cloud and on tab, cloud to tab. works well, but as mentioned before, I would rather not have to really on uploading to cloud first, but a way send straight to tablet from phone, maybe with an adhoc wifi connection tablet and phone, or just a bluetooth folder sync? I have a limited data package on the phone, this is the primary reason for this.
Thanks
Until you find another solution, with limited data plan, you could wait until you have access to wifi and then send the pics. It wouldnt cost you any data off your plan.

I just discovered sugarsync and love it... it syncs automatically, not dropbox. So you always have offline your pictures and no data plan is needed.
In the settings you can set the app to sync only in wifi, or only plugged in AC etc ... plus you have 5go free online. (A LOT of pictures lol)
Once you're done you don't have to care anymore. You always share the same pictures between your phone and the tab.
i will have to checkout sugarsync, but the setup i mentioned with similiarly.
files are uploaded to dropbox automaticly from phone to a folder, and that folder is setup to sync with the dropb on the tab. also has power settings to control if to use wifi, 3g, etc and on AC adapter only

Polaris Office

Hi
I just wanted to know whether it's possible to access one's google docs account through Polaris Office. When I go to the Web files tab I can only add my box.net account. There isn't a google docs option, I went through all the settings and found nothing. I clearly remember reading in reviews that Polaris Office can access one's Google docs.
I use Polaris 3.0 build 3091ZD, the one that came on my phone.
Guess not, since you can only add box account. Box account doesn't work either for me, although it works fine with other office apps.

Good Alternative to Google Docs App?

Hi All,
I am playing the the TF201 that I just got for work, and am looking for alternative GUI's for editing an syncing a google docs spreadsheet on the tablet.
The google docs app is ok but the editing on it is not intuitive and sloppy.
I tried Polaris, but it doesn't sync with the current doc, just uploads it back to the server and screws up the formatting. I also tried Office Suite but can't test the editing/syncing part without purchasing it. Same with Docs to go.
My docs is just rediculous.
Anybody else have any good insight to a friendly GUI on the android tablet?
THanks!
My favorite interface has always been from Quick Office HD. I love having a full page view as opposed to the text being all the way at the top right. The only annoying thing is the lack of autosave for Gdocs.

you could also try google docs in the chrome browser. it works better than in any other browser. cheers!
Is Google Drive any better?
I don't know if you can sync, but Kingsoft office is great and free.
EDIT: It can use cloud, you can add all your cloud accounts that support Webdav protocol. For google docs, use this eservice: http://dav-pocket.appspot.com/. It enables to access Google Docs via Webdav. And it's free.
Office Suite Pro 6 allows you to sync and edit Google Docs, as well as documents on you dropbox or box account.

Collatebox the best alternative to google spreadsheets
Google docs are ok, but a better solution with online and offline editing along with mobile solutions would be Collatebox ! Do go through the trial and website as well. They seem promising.
Microsoft office app is good

Easy way to sync files/folders over 2 Android devices without cloud services?

I'm thinking of using both a TF201 Prime and a Nexus 7. I'm curious if there is an automatic syncing app that would allow me to have the files in one or multiple folders synced between both devices.
Ideal scenario is say I download a music file on my TF201 to a folder labelled music, and it gets instantly synced to a music folder on my Nexus 7 when both are connected to my home wifi network.
I know this can be done with a cloud service like Dropbox, but it's very inefficient for large files with a slow ISP upload speed.
I'm using FolderSync to sync files between tablet and NAS (or PC) on local network. Maybe you could use it as well, there are many protocols supported.

I use Cheetah Sync to sync files from my home Server/PC to multiple android devices. The Cheetah Sync service runs on the Server/PC and an app runs on the android device. You specify the folders to sync via the app. The Cheetah Sync app automatically searches for PCs with the Cheetah Sync service running and connects.
I always Sync Manually but I believe there is a sync schedule you can set.
This solution works great for me.
I hope it helps you too.
