Best combo for battery life (Rom + Kernel) - HTC EVO 3D

What's a good ROM + Kernel combo for good battery life w/o sacrificing performance. I've tried several ROMs (Sick Sense (currently ruining), Clean Rom, SHOGUN, Synergy Nightly, Steel Rom and many others. yet can't get decent battery life (nothing over 6hrs). What are u guys prefer/running?

My first question is, is this on stock battery?
Second question is, how much do you use your phone?
Ok I'm on clean ROM 2.5 and I'm getting amazing battery life for how much I use my phone. Here is a screenshot with stock battery on a easy day with all the wakelocks.

2000 mAh Battery (Gailio) I would say average to excessive use. Do a lot of Facebook and texting.. I don't make a lot of voice calls.
Would you be able to post the stock battery usage screenshots info as well?

Make sure your battery is truly 2000mah. Look in the accessories forum and there's a couple of threads on 3rd party batteries. I think yours is a lot less than 2000mah.
The ones that people have checked out are by seidio, Anker, and chichitec.

as always with battery life the main thing is going to be service. at home if i leave my phone sitting near a window it can sit in standby with data turned on for 4 hours and drop max 3 percent. at work i can lost 10 percent in 30 minutes if i check it once. the building ruins my service even though it shows high bars. damn cdma. on tmobile i had green for service while now i hit the brownish yellow thats below yellow
but im also on cleanrom and the battery is great in normal out of work use

One thing I notice is the screen usage on your phone, look like very minimal use and in my phone the battery killer is the screen. I mean this in a nice way when I ask; Are you trying to see how you can "make" the battery last or are you trying to see how long the battery will last?
Thanks everyone for the input and feedback!

I understand what you mean. No I wasn't trying to see how long I could make it last, it was just a busy day at work and I didn't have a ton of time to play with it. I was just trying to give you an idea of my battery usage all will vary on the user of course. However while the screen may not have been in use much I have horrible reception at work and clean ROM has personally given me the best battery life so far.
Edit: sorry I just read back over that and please don't take the way I said things as a flame or rude, I didn't mean it that way.

Screenshot is inbuilt in stock ROM.
Press and hold power button for a sec and quickly press home button not the menu button.

I guess what's i'm really looking for is : what rom and kernel combo are you using and what kind of battery life do you get out of it???

90% battery after 12.5hrs!
I keep all the radios on (4G, 3G, wifi, bluetooth, gps) and brightness set to auto.
...
I couldn't do a screen shot from the phone cuz no root yet
Manl, that's insane how efficient the new dual cores are!
Only if you dont use the phone. Hence your display percentage so low. Mine went about 12.5 hours on battery with the display on for 3h total
That is one thing that I don't understand about this phone. Sometimes, i'll pull it off the charger and not touch it for 12 hours and the battery will still be in the 90's like you see above. Other times, i'll pull it off the charger and not touch it and it will just slowly drain and be into the 60's or 70's after 12 hours (and it's still sleeping). Don't get it. Signal is always good here too.
I get about 3 hours of battery, and I don't even use it for calls really.

curious too, currently using the simi clock battery. Fan of that, but having one in the top bar would be cool...
After 7 or 8 hours I hit about 20-25%. With Juice Defender Ultimate I get about an hour more of battery. But thats still not enough for me hah.

I know why my battery life sucks. I use it way too much... Lol... Underclocking to 685mhz works pretty well and the phone isn't all that laggy. It is definitely bearable.
Sent from my PG86100 using XDA App
The only days I get battery life anywhere close to that are the days that I am super busy and just don't touch my phone, except to answer a call or text. Days where I have too much time, I'll constantly be on my phone playing games, researching things, youtubing stuff, listening to music, and on those days I'll get 9-12 hours, which is still good in my book. It'll easily go over a day with very light usage. I can leave it off the charger at 100% over night, and it'll be at 97% or so when I wake up, but as soon as I get on that XDA app for 20 minutes I'll be down to 75%, lol. It's ironic that the XDA app is such a major battery drain, and that is one of the apps that I use the most.

If you get '3 hours of battery and don't use it for calls' then you either have a defective phone or lying. I do vallet and play Video's all day work 5PM-4AM and I never have to charge my phone although close to dead by the time I leave. 3 hours? I don't think so.
Fact 1: 9 times out of 10, if you don't use your phone at all, the battery will barely drain.
Fact 2: If you were to actually pick up and use the phone, you wouldn't get nearly as long out of the battery.
That's something that baffles me about people and keeping track of battery usage. They leave their phone sitting there over night and all day without touching it, and then have kittens when the battery percentage barely goes down. Well.. newsflash, that will happen if you don't use the phone at all. I guarantee that if you were to use the phone for any length of time the battery would drain a lot faster than that. So that isn't an accurate indicator of the phone's battery life.

I use custom data saver mode set to turn off data automatically after 15 min all day and night. That way I don't have to bother switching data on and off manually. Plus, it comes on very fast when I turn the screen on. I do keep BT and WIFI off when not in use, brightness at 25%. I also use the built in task killer to auto kill a few apps that want to keep running, like Facebook. I'm locked, but rooted running stock rom, and I used battery calibrator app after the update which helped. Although, before the update I was getting pretty much the same battery life.
And with me, believe it or not, I have the brightness all the way down, (you'd be surprised how bright the screen still is!!!!!) That's my only real secret to even better battery life

I did the same thing with moto, except i was getting great battery life to begin with. I just wanted a second battery.
One thing that I don't get though is why the phone always wakes up on it's own. My heroc and Evo 3D didn't do that, with the same apps installed. It kinda concerns me.

Just wanted to post new battery settings:
- Running Skinny ROM, unlocked, rooted
- Actually stopped overclocking the phone - max is 1000 Mhz
- Undervolt @ -75mV
- Juice Defender - Customized Settings (wondering if Aggressive is better)
- I did go through two nights on Airplane mode 14hrs
- Alarm I hear is what causes the phone to be "awake" at night...
Well, I'd say it's been pretty impressive...though I didn't text much and wasn't on too many phone calls, I'd say 24 hours of use w/ 10% left isn't too shabby. I could have probably gotten another couple of hours.

Possible Resolution to battery Drain Issue
I called Samsung Support and they helped me to change the wifi sleep policy from "never" to "when screen turns off". This resulted in using up less than 10% of my battery last night from 11PM to 7AM.
Action Taken:
1. Settings
2. Wireless and Network
3. Wifi Settings
4. Click Menu Button (next to Home Button) and Select Advanced
5. Select Wi-Fi sleep policy
6. Change it from "Never" to either "Never when plugged in" or "When Screen turns off".
7. One person reported success rebooting their phone after making these changes. For me I did not have to reboot.
I also thought that this may increase my hspa+ data usage, but it was hardly noticeable last night.
Yea...you're actually getting terrible battery life smarty pants

This happens with custom roms too. It is the wifi bug that Entropy512 noted in the other thread.
I'm getting around 20 hours on unnamed ROM with the mentioned wifi sleep policy setting. Is this good? I read my rss feeds like 5-6 times a day, make about 1 hour of phone calls, read autoguide forums like 5-6 times as well. I think it's ok?

Do you have that sync enabled in the background, that drains power.
Three things turn GPS off when not using turn auto brightness off and dim it down till you are happy.. Also make sure you don't have any 3rd party apps keeping your phone awake..
I can get about 24hrs of use outta my phone moderate use or more.. Calls, texts, xda app,youtube.. Anyway I am also on stock kernel... I use a Seidio 1900 mha batt slightly better compared to stock batt. Stock battery I could get about 18hrs with moderate use... If your on your phone playing for 6 to 4 hrs str8 that may kill your phone quicker lol.. Display is the main thing eatin up the juice...
In almost every bad battery post I always see bad signal. Turn off turn off the 4G unless you are actively using it.
This is what pisses me off about HTC phones lol. In battery threads all you see is "turn off, turn off, turn off." We've come so accustomed to it that we actually feel this is routine. It sucks.

freeza has ramdisk mods that help with battery life (old and new base)
my kernels also get great battery life (old base)
(depending on apps installed on ur device)
both these options help a lot, without disabling stuff
on warm 3.5 build 116 and my r14 kernel, default settings - i get 26-28 hours between charges with light to moderate use
heavy use - abt 14-16 hours (with over 70% of battery going on screen-on - lcd backlight will drain battery FAST...nothing to really do abt it except lower brightness)

Rom with best battery life?

Hey guys anyone know from experience which Rom gives you the very best battery life? I'm a somewhat heavy user and trying to get my note to last me through the day. Or the best tweaks that don't take away too much from performance and convience? Thanks a ton.
No one rom does, everyone will claim the rom they use does
I'm a heavy user
No rom will give me 2 days, although folks will claim it
It all depends on how you use your phone
If you're a "light" user, then any rom will give you long life cuz you're not using your phone
Best thing is to put a screen filter app on any rom you choose, that'll extend your life since the screen is biggest hog
Or wait til we get kernels with undervolting
In my experience the people that constantly complain about battery life are horrible at managing their device. If you don't have ****ty apps spying on you while running unnecessary processes in the background you a should get through the whole day. my note comes off the charger at 9am and has about 15% battery left by 2am. That's with plenty of screen on time and watching an episode from hulu on 4g. I am on wifi about 70% of the day though. Screen off timeout is set to 1 minute and weather and stock updates every 4 hours.
I download nothing unless the app maker is well known and trusted and I believe that is important. Some live wallpapers want full network access.no thank you.
P.s. Don't use the one percent battery meter.ignorance its bliss trust me. I'm so much happier not knowing the exact percentage.

Startup Manager I have bought which supposedly will stop programs at startup. Any thoughts? I've read where it ia better to let things run naturally. I have about 100 apps.
Samsung has built in power saver? Used from time to time..anyone else use this? Juice defender better?
There is a spreadsheet pn here that says gives unnecessary apps we can delete. Suggested???
Without creating another similar thread would love to hear some thoughts.

It's not as much of a kernel issue as it is a characteristic of the hardware. No amount of kernel tuning will magically allow, say, the display to consume less power while being at the same brightness. Make sure your car charger is capable of putting out the full 1 A current that the Note can pull. If you are running with the screen at full brightness, GPS for Navigation, 4G data to pull down map tiles, and Bluetooth to your car, the Note will need about 1 A of power. Check the Accessories forum for many threads on which car adapters and USB cables will work with the Note. I am using a Bracketron 12V adapter, and it is able to keep up with the Note running full tilt.
Out of all I've tried, so far KING KANG from DaGr8 has given me the best battery life.
