Who knows, zdzihu might be on dormant making the drivers already.
Sad thing is, now we have gingerbread and basically everything final, lots of developers are leaving us, the X10 is OLD...
We would just have to wait---
i am also waiting for multi touch!

True but is it because of the screen or its because writing the drivers are too hard ?

Well firstly no one knows for sure if it can do multi touch...
If theoretically we did, the drivers would probably take years to write from scratch.

I think they can rewrite existing drivers (from neo, arc etc), but it's still hard.. so, will see if yes or not

Obviously not, or you'd know how wrong what you're saying is
The X10 will never have multitouch. Every thing that touches our screen is given an x- and y-coordinate, and our screen is just capable of combining one x and one y. The dualtouch hack can be used because we don't mind if one x- coordinate is used in combination with the wrong y; we don' t need that for movements like pinch zoom. Try twisting south to north with two fingers in google maps and you'll know what I mean; when your fingers cross each other at a horizontal or vertical axis, your rotation movement will be inverted

Me and Z believe that this is due to the drivers in the MT chip.

yes, I approximately know how dualtouch works.. but MT is not impossible with right drivers that someone has to do.. and I believe that our HW can support MT

I believe no, because if you can succesfully replace it, there is no way to work, due to very different hw on the mini, ie: the soc of the dgtzr of the pro works only with the screen of pro so it is almost impossible afaik....

Theshawty, you CAN'T HAVE real dual/multitouch as on X10/X10 mp, because your screen DON'T SUPPORT IT, don't you read doixanh post?, so let it die like flash player , Im sorry
Regards,
D4.
we cannot have REAL DT indeed, that's why I put this post.
at first we were led to believe it supported DT because we thought the mini had a ClearPad 2000 (I think.. correct me if I'm wrong) which supports DT at max, turns out, our mini has ClearPad 1000 which is only for mono touch(or whatever it is called).

I agree, but DT wouldn't hurt would it? (I know we can't have any, I'm just saying..)

Hi,
I was reading some comments people had made about not being able to port the keyboard on semc kernel to cyanogenmod kernel. So that got me thinking to the point - what is the difference between the two?
Is it that there are different drivers to both kernels or any other difference that matters big?

Speaking specifically about the keyboard, it's not kernel related, you got that part wrong.
It is integrated in Semc framework and libs, that's why it can't be ported to other ROMs.
As far as kernels are concerned, in general, different kernels are different.
And sometimes those differences do matter a big deal.
It depends on what you want to do.

it has nothing with the kernel.
the framework is different.so you can’t use the semc keyboard in z's CM7

I use and app called Screebl. It was free app of the day one day on the amazon app store. It uses the accelerometer when the screen is on to keep the screen on when it is held and an angle that you set it to. When the phone is laid flat face down or up the screen will go off after the amount of time you set but as long as your holding it at any other angle the screen will stay on. Here's the free version on the market

What I am hoping is that once ICS Sources are released for our phone and SG3 (if it is not out already), we can get a full ROM port.

NO man a senior developer have ported this to Samsung Galaxy SL I9003
You may have heard of floating touch before. It actually comes stock on the Sony Xperia Sola for certain functions. With a little mod work, developers were able to floating touch working as a full fledged feature. As it turns out, the Sola isn’t the only device capable of floating touch. Now, the Samsung Galaxy SL can as well.
XDA Senior Member shriomman has released a method that enables floating touch on the Galaxy SL. It’s based on an older mod by Senior Member loSconosciuto

Ya depends on hardware hope so
In theory, this is very cool because that means the Sola isn’t the only device that is capable of this. In fact, since it really only involves modifying touchscreen sensitivity, all devices should be capable of this in some form. In practice, however, it really can’t be used for day to day activities. According to shriomman, navigation can be hard at times and basic tasks like texting can be a pain. It’s still definitely something fun to try.

What is the limitation of taking a mod from another devices and using it on the jewel?
I just flashed PA 2.99 and I see some really interesting things in other phone mod sections.
Is there files I should be careful not to touch due to screen resolution or device name conflicts?
