How to backup everything in stock image?
also, if anyone need the image I could share it out. Just got it back from Samsung repair with 3.1 without TouchWiz UI
Install Rom Manager from market, launch it and install ClockworkMod. Select Reboot into Recovery, wait until reboot and menu, select Backup and it will backup your complete partition.

Hey guys i have a few questions, i have installed custom recovery and megatron rom. my question is
1)is it true everytime we boot our phone into custom recovery our phone will ne automatically taken to the factory reset?
2)for example, i want to install void rom, should i just straight forward install the rom eventhough i got megatron rom applied?
3)how do i overclock my phone, i have installed megatron rom but cant find any
4)how to create folders in the menu for tue megatron rom, i want to separate my downloaded apps wih my preinstalled apps from each other. There is no options available to create folder when i press options button in the menu. it sucks that my downloaded apps are together with my preinstalled apps
5)how to backup my downloaded apps, say, everytime if u boot ur phone into custom recover via three button combo your phone will taken to the factry reset and your downpoaded apps are gone right. so how to after i custom recovery, then restore my missing apps after factore reset my phone. i know theres two way to do that, with the custom recovery itself nand backup and titanium backup. but im not really sure how. Especially the tianium backup, say, i backup my files using titanium backup, then i install rom or something through custom recovery then of course, my downloaded apps will be gone after i reboot my phone right, and of course my tianium backup will be gone too. so how do i restore my apps if my titanium backp is gone.
Hi
Tried to find a similar thread but failed so I ask here.
I have a 10.1 Wifii & 3G
Did a full backup with Rom manager before doing anything.
Upgraded to overcome ROM 2.
Realized that there was no Swedish language in the ROM, so I decided to go back to the backed up ROM instead.
When I choose Restore in the Rom manager menu, my restore is there and it looks like it is working. It reboots, it checks the files, applies all img and other files, BUT. When it's done it just sits there on the Overcome CwM Recover v5.1.2.6. It feels like it never gets done? I also tried to do a restore from inside the nandroid menu but same thing. I also tried to wipe several time, but same thing. If I try to reboot the 10.1, it gets stuck on the splash screen.
SO, my question.
I really want to keep my data on the sdcard...
Scared of doing the restock on teamovercome homepage because it says
-"IT WILL ALSO WIPE OUT YOUR INTERNAL STORAGE!"
Is there any tips anyone can give me. Is this because my old ROM had different(older) boot files or something?
Please help
Lasse
Try installing CWM 4.0.0.4 using Odin and restore the backup and see if it works.
A small advice: Don't use ROM Manager for creating backups and restoring. Always do from the CWM directly. ROM Manager usually messes up the things

You can use the paid version of Titanium Backup.
It can restore individual apps+data from CWM backups

CWM recovery backup and restore = Nandroid backup
Clockworkmod is a 'custom recovery' made by xda member koush. Every phone had a recovery partition designed so that if the user messes up a ROM installation, they can recover their phone. CWM is a modified recovery installed into the recovery partition that allows advanced control over ROM recovery, installation and much more.
Features of CWM include:
- NANDroid Backup, This allows you to completely back up your existing ROM with all its files, data and apps
- Restore Backup, Restores a previous backup (obviously...)
- ROM installation, Allows you to install a ROM contained inside a flashable .zip file
- Wipe data/Factory reset, completely erases all of your data contacts, apps etc, leaving your phone 'as new'
Amongst others...
How to install CWM
If you have already rooted your phone using the CF-root Kernel, then you already have CWM! If not, then just install the kernel linked to above in the 'how to root your phone' section
How to make a NANDroid backup using CWMBackups are important because they allow you to restore your ROM incase flashing goes wrong, or you phone starts playing up and displaying wierd bugs.
To make a backup, you need to boot into CWM recovery (done through the 'cwm' app installed onto your phone when you flash the cf-root kernel). Then, you need to navigate down to 'backup/restore' using the volume keys, and select it using the home key. From here, just click 'backup' and you are all set! Leave your phone make the backup (its takes some time) and then just reboot when it tells you its finished. To restore your backup, do the same but instead of clicking backup, click 'restore' instead. Choose which backup you would like to restore and leave the phone to do its magic. Done.
Thanks for your very precise reply.

Works 100% on Samsung Galaxy s3, pretty sure that it works for other devices
Do you have a rom? f*cked it up? does it give you a bootloop or does it FC the whole time? installed a new rom but want ur files to back to ur new rom?
Well here is a easy fix for the problem
What do i need mate? :
ClockworkMOD Recovery
Titanium Backup Full Version
Root Acces
Some space for the backup
And brains
What steps bro?
1. Boot to recovery by holding: VOL+ Home and Power buttons (SG3 way)
2. Make a backup of the current rom via CWM
3. Do a Factory Reset/Date wipe
4. Wipe Cache and Dalvik Cache
5. Install the new rom and gapps if needed
6. Start the phone and follow the install wizard (if the rom has one)
7. Buy Titanium backup in the google play store
8. Start titanium backup, and press the menu button and navigate to "Special backup/restore" and choose Unpack of Nandroid-backup...
9. You will now see the Date etc choose that and wait for it to search for the apps+data
10. You will now see ALL the data, the ones with a smily are the installed apps, the grey ones are the system apks+data
11. Install the ones that you want and restore them
12. If you want all your installed apps choose the first option and than start it, it will now restore the apps and its data
13. When done Reboot!
14. Done! All your apps are safely back
*Know issues*
Restore might freeze, Just reboot phone and do it again
Some apps might FC on the start-up should be fixed when starting the apps up after the FC
If a app keeps getting a FC than delete it with titanium backup
I've done it also on this way, and didn't lost my Data now, ive lost it multiple times but after thinking and trying i finally find a solution to get back my apps i hope that it will save some people here
Have question?
don't be scared and ask them :highfive:
PS. Buying the app is always better than downloading it via play store alternatives, because it pays the developers for its hard work
Sorry if posted in wrong section
I have the phone rooted, but I don't think there is any custom firmware (CWM/TWRP) for it where I could do a nandroid backup.
I can't find a way to flash the stock ROM either on the Vodafone site. I want to delete some apps from /system/app but I'm worried I might soft brick it, and if I do, there's no way to restore it. If I delete/move some of the wrong APKs from that folder, "restore factory settings" won't work if it enters a boot loop, will it?
Can I take a Nandroid backup without a custom recovery (through fastboot/ADB)?
Thanks in advance
The app "Partitions Backup & Restore" from play store can back up all your partitions. But you can only restore small size partitons with it like recovery.
