Latest Stock ROM to flash via CWM

Hi,
Can anyone point me to a (direct) link that gives the latest stock ROM for Samsung Galaxy S2 that i can flash using CWM? I think the latest version is KG5, but please tell me if this is wrong?
Ive been trying to search through an ocean of links and can find thousands but dont which is the right one.
I just want the latest stock ROM (preferably with a rooted kernal, but can live without) that i can flash from CWM.
Im sure its probably already here somewhere, but its not so obvious to a noob like me.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Many thanks
Stock roms are ODIN flashed .

I guess that explains it!
Thanks for the quick reply.
If i need to re-route after i flash, can i use any kernal or does it have to be the one that matches the ROM?

Great, all done! Flashed using ODIN and re rooted using matching kernal (i found one so just took a punt on it)
If i want to flash something like Litening Rom in future can i do that using CWM or ROM Mgr? Im sticking with stock for now but who knows, i may get more adventurous!

[Q] how can i install clockworkmod

i have been trying to install clockworkmod on my samsung galaxy s2, it will not work.
i get this error mess.

E: signature verification failed
my phone as gingerbread.xwkf3

after looking around i have found out it will not install, as the stock recovery is 3e. 3e will not install zip files. so my question is can i revert my phone back too 2e. if so how?
follow instruction in this thread using odin to get clockwork mod, superuser and busybox which is what you need to be booted.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1103399

Please ask Chainfire in his CF-Root thread (you have got the link already) for such a version ...
or flash a newer ROM via Odin (like described in Intratech's thread => http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1075278) - for which there is a corresponding CF-Root kernel available.
There is a way to CWM, but you have to go for it

using XW_CLK_KF3 as my kernel is KF3.I see you have writing you need to root via XWKDD but thats a different version of firmware. Is that really what your kernel says or have i understood wrong??
ITs impossible that your kernel says XXKDD and ChainFire will probably not even take the time to answer your question if you dont give the correct information. Please do the following:
Go into SETTINGS-ABOUT PHONE and post the following info

Glad we can help.Better than screwing your phone thats for sure.If your gonna keep on flashing firmwares or ROMs then i recommend you download Titanium Back-up from the market. It backs-up and restores all your apps + data and links them back to the market so you dont loose anything or keep having to re-download stuff again and again.Handy if you have paid apps or games and dont want to loose data
EDIT: I imagine when you flashed the new firmware you kernel changed so you could root,no?!

Instructions from the root post.
CWM Manager
Because of incompatibility with ROM Manager,
I wrote and included "CWM Manager". This is a new app (as of March 30, 2011). You can find it under Applications -> CWM. It is much faster to use than manually booting into CWM and selecting these options.

Need Insecure Kernels for Orange UK

I want to root my s2 its on Kernel version BVKJ4 & Android Version 2.3.5. I dont no which one support this kernel
and i want to know if this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1095274 will support
I am new to rooting did read most info but scared abit
Thanks
You can root without the need to insecure kernel. The method is available in the root guide in the official firmware thread in the dev forum.
If you want to use an insecure kernel then you can use anyone of them, doesn't need to match your current firmware... just chose the latest one.
Thanks for the fast reply this mean i can use Lite'ning Rom v6.1 XXKH3 = http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1095274

I have no idea how you got to that from the above, but yes, I guess you could use Lite'ning ROM, but that's nothing to do with what you asked for. Do you understand the difference between kernel, ROM and root?

[Q] I'm still on 2.3.4 (rooted) should I update ?

Hello,
My SGS2 I9100 is still on firmware 2.3.4 and rooted with CF root.
I'm still very happy with it although the battery drains a bit fast.
I read that the update to 2.3.6 fixed the battery drain.
But I'm still in doubt if I should update or not. I don't want to lose root, so I have a few questions.
Q1: Will I be able to root it with 2.3.6 installed and if so how ?
Q2: Can I do it the same way as with 2.3.4 and use the same CF root kernel or is rooting 2.3.6 different ?
Q3: Off course I'll make a backup first within recovery, but will I be able to restore it if it turns out that I can't root the 2.3.6 and so I don't have CWM anymore ?
Regards,
Stefan.
To answer the first 2 questions, the answers can be found here http://androidflip.com/how-to-root-samsung-galaxy-s-2-using-cf-root-kernel-easiest-best-method/

NO follow the instructions .

Yes at worst flash an older root to allow recovery .

Okay this is my fault I asked 3 questions in one
By No, do you mean No rooting 2.3.6 is not different then with 2.3.4 and I have to follow the same instructions ?
If I read the link that N0stalgic posted, I think it is the same way as before.

There is no "best" way. Its just personal preference and which guide one can understand, and it seems that he understood the one I provided better than your vague explanation. Cheers.
Okay, it's clear to me now. Thanx all for the information.
I've just did the update to 2.3.6 and the kernel has been updated to KK2.
So I used the KK2 kernel for rooting and now it's rooted again
Next thing to do is installing the old bootloader so I can use my jig to remove the exclamation mark. But First another recovery backup.
Thank you ALL !!
Regards,
Stefan.
