[Q] GBBootloader? atlas_2.2 vs. stock pit? - Fascinate Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I was cleaning up my computer desktop and found this GBBootloader.tar file (md5: 3BC133BB495367DD0C3C8C5B4216BCA3)
But couldnt recall why did i download it? (I dont think I have used it before)
Ive read somewhere that this file was to fix the sd card problem
Im just wondering is this that same file?
Edit:
What is the difference between Stock-i500-VZW-pit.pit and atlas_2.2.pit?
I have checked their sizes and md5, and they are totally two different files

Corrupt files

Hi,
I searched through everywhere but did not find a real good answer.
On my HD2 Phone Memory I have a few files that have strange filenames with strange characters. I want to remove them but then it says it can't cause the file is corrupt. (Don't think they are corrupt, just problems with the filenames) I also tried to remove the whole directory but then it removes all files in the directory but not those strange ones and then it can't remove the directory cause it is not empty. Also tried to rename them, but it also is telling me the files are corrupt.
The only option I found that probebly will work is the Hard Reset, but I don't want to do that since I want to remove them for my backup program wich also can't handle these files.
Now, I tried the original explorer, the Resco explorer and Total commander.
Does anyone has an idee how to remove them?
thanks
Rom: Artemis 18 NLD
Radio: 2.10.50.08_2
Is there nobody with an idea?
are these in your device memory or on the sdcard ....
if they are in Device memory I would say a Hard Reset is your only option to fix it, but if you have corrupt files in device memory , you may have a hardware issue ...
If you have corrupt files on your SD card, copy everything you can to your pc and then format the card ... and then put your stuff back ...
If it does it again, in either place, you may have some hardware problems ...
OR, this could be too, had it on a guys phone the other day, PC infected with a virus that keeps trying to spread to the phone every time it is plugged into the PC ...
watcher64,
Thanks for the answer,
It is in device memory and it is not a hardware issue since it is only from one app. YouTube. Obviosly it is the caching (windows/YouTube)
I use an other YouTube Application now. But the other files I can't remove. I did not want to hard reset since I don't want to reinstall all the stuff. Eventualy I will reinstall with a newer ROM. But I was planing to see how stable this rom is and just try using it for at least 3 months. I can backup everything with excluding that specific directory. But I just will keep trying to remove those files.
So if there is anyone out there that knows how to remove those files.....
Are there tools for this filesystem, (wich filesystem is it?)

[Q] How to create a custom ROM for SmartQ Ten3 T15?

Hi all,
I have a SmartQ ten3 T15 Android 4.0 tablet (TI OMAP 4430 SoC) on the way to me from China.
As I like to have all files on hand before gadgets arrive, I downloaded the standard firmware yesterday from the SmartQ website.
As I read somewhere (don't know where) that sometimes firmware files are zip files I renamed the extention-less firmware file to .zip and I could just open the file with winrar and extract the complete file structure of this ROM.
That got me thinking of creating my own ROM files, but first I'd like to have some questions answered by people with experience doing this.
Normal firmware update on this tablet is done via micro SD card, and by entering a boot option while holding down certain keys.
The questions:
- Is it as easy as putting in or taking out the files in the folder structure, zip the files and remove the extention and update it to the tablet?
- Winrar says the file is signed with signApk, but this also seems a very straightforward procedure to signing my own ROM's. Or will the tablet only accept files signed with their certificates?
- Anybody else have experience with firmware files for other devices who work the same way? And do you have tips for me?
One of the things I'm trying to achieve is getting bluetooth and FM to work, the hardware supports it but it is disabled by firmware.
And further on I would just like to customize the tablet further, by removing apps and adding my own and so on.
Thanks in advance for your help.

[Q] A little help with rar files

Hi,
I'm relatively new to Android and I'd like your feedback on a problem I'm facing using unrar programs on my Note II.
I tried to unrar some files I threw from my pc experimenting with 3-4 programs available at Google Play to see if it can be done correctly. While everything seems to work ok, the filesize of the end file is exactly the same as if I was doing the job at my pc, and the name and file extension (Matroska file in my example) is written correctly in the created file under properties, when I try to play it it doesn't work for some reason.
Of course if I unrar the same files at my pc and throw the end file inside the pc, then everything is ok. For some weird reason, while the unrar process seems to be done correctly in my phone, the end file cannot be played.
Can anyone help me with this?
Thanks in advance
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...GwsMSwyLDEsImNvbS5yZXNvbmFuY2VsYWIudW5yYXIiXQ..
I use this ,not a single problem so far,it can support multiple files as well.
I have installed exactly the same program atm in my Note II!
I don't know if the problem is with the program though. I'm trying to unrar multiple rar files to create the mkv video. The operation is done correctly as I said (or at least it seems so) but the mkv file cannot be played. The filesize and the name of the endf ile is exactly the same as if I was doing the operation in my pc, but for some reason the file cannot be played.. :/
Also I noticed that if I try to copy this file in my pc, or move/copy it somewhere else inside the phone I can't!
I can only delete it..
It could be that just one file is missing the.rar extension in that case you have to rename it into.rar.
And it's better to put all of the multiple files in one folder.
Thanks for your feedback guys I found what was the issue. I need to make one clarification though so if you can help, you'd help me understand why this happens.
I've done the internal/external swap memory flashmod on my Note II, and I was trying to unrar/write initially on the now external card(but in reality it's the internal memory without the mod). So when I perform the operation in the "external" card the created file cannot play.
When I try to do it in the now internal(but in reality sd card/external memory) everything works just fine.
Is there any limitation to begin with with using unrar programs in the external memory? Or it might be an issue/bug with the mod quite possibly?
Thanks in advance

[Q] Odin trouble

Okay so I downloaded everything as per the tutorial as per this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2290798 . I have searched several different sites and many different threads, almost finding my answer. My problem is that when I download the files they show up as image files and not tar. I am having some sort of problem with .tar file name with Odin. I found several links of how to, and great info but none of them are solving my problem. I found a link that almost had what I needed to fix it or was in the right direction, but somehow lost it or closed it. When searching using pda, the files do not appear in the file folder. For some reason they show as images in the file on my desktop. This is before and after extracting to see if either way made a difference. I even re-downloaded the links and they still show as image. I even tried typing it in manually it seemed to find the file but still did not work. I am using winrar one of the links I found said to try win7 or something but I couldnt get that to work either. I just want to root my new toy. Can someone point me in the right direction?
Bump

Files disappeared from phone's download folder after update (OnePlus 2 6.0.1)

Hi there, yesterday I noticed that about 500mb of files disappeared from my downloads folder. I am not exactly sure what caused this to happen but i suspect it to be a system update a day prior (Only other things that changed recently was that I installed and uninstalled malwarebytes). All files except for around 10 had disappeared (dont think it has anything to do with their file format as other files of the same format disappeared as well). However files within subfolders inside the downloads folder were fine. My android shows that the space is free (51.7 gb used of 53.9) and i cant find the files with diskdigger when i tried, even though it had found files i had deleted from a year ago. However when I plugin my phone to my PC, my pc shows that 52.2gb of 53.9gb of space is being used (although i still cant see/find the files on pc except for a 126b M3U file). Im wondering if theres anyway to get the data back and what is causing the issue.
Thanks
(Im sorry if this question doesnt belong here, new to xda. Please direct me to the right subforum if I posted this in the wrong section)
