Hi guys,
Since May I have been on an ODIN Froyo ED01 packaged ROM (ED01DB_DOx_SHARK).
I had some issues with it booting into safe mode, taking screen shots, opening a closing apps, and just generally acting weird.
Can you guys recommend me a stable package to update to?
How is CyanogenMod 7?
Iv'e been away form the scene for a bit.
Thanks
CM7 has made big progress, but it's still a beta. I'm still running into problems with it not reading my SD card.
For now, I'm still on ComRom 2.1, with the ED01 radio.

If your looking for stability powerwashed ed05 or powerwashed gingerbread are very stable roms. If you want voodoo lagfix the pw 1.2 ed05 w/ otb or pbj is really good. com rom w/ pbj kernal is also nice. Im not really a fan of cm7 or miui, although they do have really cool features...but I need full functionability.

I am wanting to know if you can flash any froyo kernels on atriac v1 and also modems. Thanks for all the help to in advance. Also the Ka7 kernel is no good in my area any suggestions
You will be fine I was using overstock 1.5 til a few minutes ago now I'm using tiger's blood v2. As far as a modem you may want to try Kb1 a lot of people seem to have good things to say about that one but it all depends on where your at.
Any Vibrant froyo 2.2 kernel/modem will work with our 2.2.1 builds.
Yes, care has been taken to ensure maximum compatibility between our 2.2.1 releases and available vibrant kernels. Be sure to read the kernels install instructions prior to flashing too.

thanks in advance!
Project-V, download, move to internal, reboot into CWR, flash.
Backup apps/other stuff if needed first.
Trigger/Project V/ZenDroid all Stable Fast and Officials
as far is flashing I would Odin to stock, Root, then flash via Clockwork Recovery
Hope that Helps
cm7 easy as 1,2,3, with rom manager prem

I kinda had the same question as you and the feedback I got was that Project V seems to be what ppl are recommending. I installed bionix 1.3.1 and like it, no problems whatsoever, but I think I'm ready a day or so later to try something else. Project V is what I'm gonna go with.
I'm gonna make the transition from Froyo (Trigger) to Gingerbread. I've been enjoying the stability of Trigger and this has prevented me from going 2.3.4 because last time I check it was still "Experimental"
Now I look and it seems as if a lot of gingers are stable.
Is there one you guys can recommend for me. I'm used to using CWM to flash roms and doing the 3 cache clears.
Which do you recommend I try if any. Should I stick with froyo 2.2 or 2.2.1 or give a gingerrom a try?
I heard revolution rom RC1 is really stable and i'm thinking of upgrading to that

Been running Asgard V3, now V3.1. No issues, fast, GPS works (for me), Like it a lot. Asgard V2 was buggy but V3 is sweet.
Recomend that if you are going to gingerbread become friendly with Odin.
With the exception of CM7/Miui it is much better to be using gingerbread bootloaders with a gingerbread rom and you need Odin to flash them.
Thanks guys, I ended up getting Revolution for the AOSP look, so far so good! Loving it, the 15min break in period never lasted so long haha.
I appreciate the advice though, it helped me make a decision

does gps work even after putting it off and on again ???
I've been thinking about going to MIUI but I don't know which one to choose. There seems to be a couple versions on here.
Can they be flashed right over each other without having to odin back to stock?
Vibrant
Rom: Project-V
Kernel: Bali X 1.2
Love it.
Yes they can you might have to format data if there are problems ofc.

Yes,I flashed without wipes, and nothing wrong happened to me.
Worked fine for me everytime I flashed different versions
because of the slight variations they do recommend you format System/Cashe, clear Dalvik then flash. (you keep apps and account info this way) fix permissions afterwards.
Oh ok I see and is MIUI set up for over the air updates?
Im just looking for something more out of my phone and this seems the way to go.
I've been on ginger clone, bionix 1.3.1, and now project v. Used kernels like tigers blood, dragon, DoW, super_dragon modz, bali, and immortality. I think im ready for 2.3.4 and MIUI seems to be pretty customizable. I love that.
Vibrant
Rom: Project-V
Kernel: Bali X 1.2
Love it.
current setup:
bionix-V 1.3.1
Bali-X 1.2GHZ
KB5 modem
this ROM and kernel are freshly flashed after odining back to JFD. phone currently runs smooth. no problems. havent done anything else.
problem is i NEEEED a 4 tab lock screen. and im having trouble understanding all the KB1/KB5/ deodexed stuff.
my baseband version is KB5 (since flashing KB5 modem) but my ROM is still based on KB1? see, i dont really know what this means or have any idea what im talking about there...
but i know that this mod requires "KB5" and when i flash it, my phone freezes during the install.
now this is expected. someone else in the thread had the same issue bionix-v 1.3.1 and they were told to "make sure" their rom is compatible (cuz bionix-v 1.3.1 is not)
i dont know how to "make sure". And i could just flash another rom that someone else has used with that mod, or i could use a rom that comes with a 4 tab lock screen like Toxic Crazy8... but i am particular about a few other things:
- i really like the speed of bionix-v 1.3.1
- i like the gingerbread theme with bionix-v 1.3.1 and the launcher (im not using the version that comes w/ touchwiz)
- i like the option to overclock (which is why i changed kernels from the one that comes with bionix-v 1.3.1)
- i definitely need BLN support (which is another reason im changed to Bali-X 1.2GHz)
- i did not like Toxic Crazy8 or any of their themes for it and for some reason my cpu would not drop below 800MHz. i also did not like using CM7, found it slow for some reason.
so how can i have the things i like AND have a 4 tab lockscreen?
ps- i sure wouldnt mind using the new ice cream sandwich theme or something with a lot of blue
You flashed back to stock giving you eclair 2.1, this rom/addon is froyo. check your firmware under settings, about phone, are you eclair or froyo? whitehawx has a deodexed 2.2 kb5 stock rom in the dev setion.
i have 2.2 (froyo) becuz i have bionix. but nothing said anything about KB5 until i flashed the KB5 modem. and of course nothing says anything about deodexed
i'd hate to have to load a stock ROM with all the bloat and no fancy tweaks or themes or anything...
could i still use a kernel like bali-x? (i guess i can ask that question over in that thread...)
it seems that a number of mods and themes and whatnot require a deodexed ROM but i dont see many mentions of deodexing in the descriptions of the popular ROMs...
I believe whitehawkx lockscreen addon was for biwinning. bionix is a team whiskey pre deodexed build. check the ops I may be wrong but if you want the lockscreens, bi winning is a good build.
