If you take out battery and then replace it, leave phone switched off and then charge phone and when fully charged re try update
Swyped from my Desire S using XDA Premium

didnt work i went to verizon to see if they would charge the battery but at first they said they didnt have anything for the droid 2 but magically they found a battery which is useless because i wasnt buying instead they spent over an hour trying to figure out what was wrong with then told me to call my asurion since i had just got a replacement phone from them and it fell under their warranty terms so im getting a droid 2 global now

Any singaporean dell streak user?

Hi, just wanna ask any of u using gingerstreak 2.4.4??? If yes, did u flash the Amss and Dsp????
Sent from my Dell Streak using xda premium
I am, and I did flash everything for GingerStreak 2.4.4. Tested today and callers cannot hear me although I can hear them fine.
Not sure if it directly related though as I took my phone for charge port repair yesterday, so maybe it is related to error during reassembly.
I'm going to flash back to stock and check.
I've tried wipe/format/cache etc on GingerStreak but issue remains thus far.
---------- Post added at 07:18 PM ---------- Previous post was at 06:25 PM ----------
Well just reset amss, bb, recovery and update pkg to stock 354. Callers still cannot hear me, whilst I can hear them fine. Guess then it is not related to GingerStreak 2.4.4
---------- Post added at 08:08 PM ---------- Previous post was at 07:18 PM ----------
Ah, microphone works after all, just volume very very low. If I shout, caller can hear a whisper.
Weird... but at least can confirm that GingerStreak 2.4.4 + AMSS/BB works for Singapore Streak users.
Hi, using dell streak. Flashed amss and dsp1. Got streakmod recovery. Having 2.4.4. Currently have no major problem once in awhile sudden shutdown. Trying to fix this.

hi all.. im also a dell streak user here in sg but i had problem with it now.. i accidentally deleted the system dialer using titanium back-up and i cant restore it. i lost all connection, no signal at all except for wifi. i factory reset it thinking that it will be back to normal( i was really newbie with this kind of thing T_T).. but when it reboot it stuck on the "touch the screen to continue"..
can anyone help me with this problem because i really like my streak..
maybe you can flash a stock rom back????

[How to]Finally, we unbrick .629 downgrade soft-brick device

Bricked after sbf on OTA .629?
Now we found the way to unbrick your d2g, the main developer is the guy who found the way to root .629.
Follow the step now
# If your device bricked after flash .29/.33,please flash full .608 sbf at first
1.Download this sbf file and flash in RSDLite
db.tt/WCJQX72O
2. Reboot recovery ,wipe and apply .629 ota update.zip (www.mediafire.com/?591t5kzfmgcm4d5)
NOTE: Step 2. is VERY important, when you finished flash sbf in step 1. ,your device working on a UNSTABLE .608 & .629 hybrid rom
Now your device work
BTW. If you have any problem when using OTA .629 and want reset your phone, just flash full .608 sbf to brick your phone and unbrick again

My D2G always goes into Bootloader whatever i do adn shows
"Bootloader
D0.11"
I flashed it with VRZ_A956_4.5.608_1FF_01.sbf then BL=2 BOOT REC CDT.sbf but again the same problem. Couple of times phone got started but for only some time, after some time when i reboot the phone it goes into bootloader. i need immediate help guys...
One thing more i have another D2G which got bricked after .629 but when unbrick method was discovered it got fixed with no issues. the reason i am sharing this is that it was going into bootloader straightaway when i press power button BUT this new one shows M logo for some time and then goes into bootloader...

Downgrade .629
Hello,
I have updated the phone to .629 however I would like downgrade to .608
Is there method for this?
Thanks
no, once on 629, that's it, any other sbf will brick phone
---------- Post added at 11:19 PM ---------- Previous post was at 11:14 PM ----------
you can use ezSBF & Root 2.3.4/ 4.5.629 to root if that's what you want
:crying:
What are the problems with this version?
depends on what you mean, by problems?
it can be rooted, bootstrapped, and flash roms
what else do you want?
I thought there were more.
Thanks

What do I need to do before I send my phone to Samsung?

I'm sending my phone in for repair and am wondering if someone can give me some instructions on returning my phone to stock. I'm on CM10 now and have a flash count of about 16. What files do I flash?
Sorry for such a noobish questions, but I guess I'm having a noobish problem!

I did this yesterday actually, I am fortunate though and their is an AT&T warranty exchange center near my house. I'll tell you what I did, I fried the phone so they couldn't access anything on the phone. I handed them a completely bricked un responsive phone and their wasnt anything they could do but to give me a brand new one lol. If you wanna go down this route let me know and I'll explain how to brick the device for life

Have you tried flashing a stock rooted ROM and then using ODIN?

Unless you wipe data from the device prior to a return to stock via Odin ....you "will " have severe boot cycle issues....
In fact .....you must wipe data .....then return to stock via Odin .....then wipe data again before the first boot cycle on the stock rom.
But because you "must " allow the device to boot after pushing any file to the device to complete the write cycle, wiping the data a second time before booting is not possible ....
That being said ....simply wipe data after the return to stock before pushing the stock recovery over .....g
There are many methods ....but I use the above .....
Finally able to update everyone. I got it all stock. All I had to do was go into the stock recovery and wipe data and cache. Perfectly stock and shipped to Samsung!

Please help! New to rooting/custom roms

Alright hey guys! I rooted my phone last night and it worked and all that and I got the SuperUser app. But before I go into more detail, I have the Galaxy s3 I737 or whatever it is for at&t. Alright well today I decided that I wanted to put a custom rom on. I downloaded rom manager from the play store and then opened it up and downloaded CM 10.1 build and the GApps for it also. I clicked all of the boxes for it to make a back up and to wipe all that stuff also and then it started loading and all that. After it was done loading, the phone restarted and had the little CM guy on there and it had the CM boot logo thing I guess you would say.? But after that, it said that Setup Wizard has stopped and that the process com.google.process.gapps has stopped.
This is what I'm talking about.
Sorry for the bad quality but I had to use my ipod to take the pictures
So now what am I suppose to do? I just really hope that I didn't screw up my phone! Please help!
_____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________Update!! I fixed it! I flashed it back to stock and I just wiped all data and all that stuff and it worked!

This thread has a very good toolkit for rooting your s3. I would suggest flashing twrp recovery over clockwork. Then download the rom you want(make sure its for your phone and carrier). And thwn use twrp to flash your rom and/or google apps.

I think you can just flash twrp recovery with the tool. I only used it once on my friends phone but i believe it has that option. As long as your phone can get to recovery or download mode its not "done". Thats what i would do in this case. Flash twrp recovery with the tool then download a rom to your pc. Transfer to your phone while your in recovery then wipe and flash(just not internal or external sd like my freind did lol). If cm wont flash try a samsung based rom first so you can make a backup before your flash anything else.

S4 stuck on unlock samsung splash screen

I tried updating my rom and my phone will not boot. I cannot get past the samsung splash screen showing me the unlock icon. I have tried installing a different recovery, wiping everything, restoring from a backup from my SD card... no luck. I have been reading on here, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=30386309 and it kind of sounds like my issue. sometimes when I try wiping and installing a rom, the phone reboots when it has to write data, eg. installing gapps. no matter the gapps package im installing, kit kat or jellybean, the phone will reboot in the middle of the install. it is almost like the R/W is now corrupt. Anyone have any idea?
We need more info than that etc build you are on, and what build you were trying to update to.

Your best bet is to just Odin the NC5 stock firmware back on there then. You can try the no wipe first.

Well there are some partial downgrade methods on here which require a few files and Odin again. I haven't done it myself and I've seen some have no issues at all with it and some have had nothing but issues.

ugh. im having the same issue. Installed NC5 today from a clean install on my MK7 phone that was running NC2.
It installed and booted up fine. I installed some apps and rebooted. Now stuck on the Samsung logo with blinking blue led light. Can't get into recovery.
