I have searched and maybe I haven't searched hard enough but I was wondering if anyone has found a fix for the bluetooth issue on the evo view 4g. It'll connect but only as a headphone without a mic. I use grooVe IP for a phone but it gets kinda annoying when I have to talk into my tab and listen through my headset. Please help and I apologize if this has been brought up and solved. I am not rooted.
I know there was a fix for the Flyer but I am not sure if that same fix will also work for the view. One can hope!
Maybe an official honeycomb release would fix the problem.

Hi everybody.
I've read at a couple of places that the Hero does not include any sim / phonebook remote access profiles which means I cannot sync my contacts with my Parrot CK3100 car kit.
I'm wondering if anyone knows why HTC would have removed this profile from their build when it was working perfectly as part of the standard cupcake build.
And also whether it is likely that HTC will reinstate this profile through future updates?
Speculation or definite answers welcome!
I'm also having this problem, as well as getting the phone to automatically reconnect when the phone and handset find eachother. Any body any ideas?
Ask Google why they STILL haven't added a full BT stack. It's the same for both the HTC Dream and HTC Magic aswell. UNLESS you wander the way of the rooters ofcourse. Then you will be able to use all those nifty little tools only the rooters can use.
I think that Google is a little bit slow on this subject tbh. But then again I have no idea of what they prioritize either. Maybe they have a BT stack but they feel it has some serious security issues? ONLY Google knows. Well... a couple of XDA's hardcore hackers might know too... isn't Haykuro around somewhere?
I have rooted my phone (yesterday). Can anyone suggest any tools that may help with this? Appreciate any help anyone cab give!
no problems here
hello i have just got my hero and im still learning the in's and outs of the device as i have come from a WM device, but have loads of success so far.
I have a in car bluetooth system and i have no problems with connecting, and searching my sim card for contacts.
The problem i do have though is that it will not read my phone contacts just the sim.
Its not a big problem as i on a regular basis back up the phone memory to the sim anyway in case i have to switch phones.
Im not sure why you guys are having problems but im happy to help in anyway.
I haven't rooted my device as i see no reason to just yet its all stock, and runs like a dream.
I have a ford mondeo with the STD sony system in it if that helps, oh and it connects as soon as i get in the vehicle
I think I may have cracked this:
I stuck a random contact on my SIM card, the Parrot handsfree now finds all of the contacts on the phone, and automatically links to the phone when in proximity. Odd, but adding that contact seems to have unlocked remote sim access.
Give it a try!
same here ... added one contact onto my sim, then full access to contacts!
Works very well with the Land Rover Bluetooth PTI (designed by Nokia as it happens). Full contact list navigation on the stereo head unit.
I am having a similar issue with an in car BT head unit. I have a Pioneer DEH-P7100BT. I have had problems connecting the hero to this. It starts contacts download and stops at contact number 14 for some reason. I have tried to delete the 14th contact but still gets stuck at 14. I have all my contacts backed up on the sim as well.
It is also proving to be an issue automatically connecting to the head unit when I get into the car. I resolve that by switching the BT off and then on again, then it connects OK. Not ideal.
The wifey has an Iphone 3GS and that connects to the unit every single time. No connection issues at all.
The BT Audio option works a charm with both the Hero and the 3GS. I usually play Last FM and Imeem over 3G and stream via BT to the head unit, pretty cool over all, if only I could sort out the connection issues with the HERO.
I just got the hero a couple of days ago, and although I am loving it, I really cant stand the lag in absolutely everything. I am having problems even accepting calls sometimes as it realises I have just clicked the receive call button after 10 seconds or so.

Mine does it the opposite way - reads the phone memory and not the sim memory. It's taken me 2 days to complete changing the profiles of people so far as I couldn't figure out why active sync wasn't working.
Well I have searched high and low and have not found an answer yet so here goes.....
I have a Pioneer AvicZ130BT stereo in my truck and I have just switched to a Photon from an EVO 4G. I am having issues with connecting to the head unit over BT. It will work some times and sometimes it will disconnect the phone and shut off the bluetooth on the phone.
Q. Are there any updated or legacy BT drivers that I might be able to try to get these two to play nice?
Q. Is there an App that might be helpfull.
Any help will be appreciated.

Are you running on stock?
I know certain rom/kernel combos are having Bluetooth issues. I am on cm9 with the original kernel and connect to my blau deck in my bimmer and a pioneer deck in my blazer no problem.

Yes the phone is stock but has root through the All In One Root just for hotspot. The phone had issues pairing in the parking lot of the Sprint store but I thought I would be able to work it out. I have tried just about everything but can not get the phone to connect automatically or consistently.
My EVO worked perfectly. I spend alot of time in my truck and this will be a deal breaker if I can not get the phone to play nice with the truck.
I have been having similar problems with my Bluetooth. My keyboard disconnects randomly and my headset often disconnects. I posted a question about updating Bluetooth stack, but no answer as of yet. I did try cm9 and the keyboard seemed to work better. However, i didn't use Bluetooth nearly as much while on cm9.
For me not a deal breaker, but i am hoping the motorola update to ics will fix things.

UPDATE
Just wanted to say that the phone is connecting very well now and seems to be streaming Pandora and other audio just fine. I did download some 3rd party apps like bluetooth manager and car dock settings that do help in configuring the connection better. I also think that I may have been a little impatient waiting for the phone to connect automatically and may have been causing more issues than the phone. My Evo connected very fast and this phone is just a little slower but I can live with that. So in short, the phone is working as it should and I will stay a SexyMoPho for a while longer I think.
Thanks to all
What did you do?

YMMV:
This worked for me.
su to root:
Code:
rm -rf /data/misc/bluetoothd/*
This nukes your Bluetooth (bluetooth daemon) stored settings. Handy if you've dirty flashed any ROMs.
I found this here:

Disclaimer: I'm not responsible for your phone or command line fowl-ups. If you know what you are doing, have at it. If not, research it.
Edit: In the interest of due diligence, I have to add that there was also a firmware update for my Pioneer DEH-80PRS. Between nuking the Bluetoothd settings on my Android and updating the Bluetooth Firmware on my Pioneer car stereo, I have had flawless operation ever since. Pioneer has a disclaimer that if you don't have an IPhone, you don't need this update... I think they fixed something they aren't admitting to. You see this often with big companies that throw things in under the radar.

Hi guys,
Looking at getting this phone but i can't for the life of me find if this supports Bluetooth with the MAP profile. I just got a new Toyota Yaris that has support to read and send messages but my current phone doesn't.
Can anyone confirm if this phone has it as i know the Galaxy Nexus doesn't. Or could someone with a SG3 test it on a toyota?
Thanks,
Matt
I'd really like to know the answer to this too. Ford's MyTouch is another vehicle that requires the MAP bluetooth profile for messaging. Crazy that it isn't more common.
Looks like we will have to wait a few days until someone with the car gets one. I guess a lot of people are too busy playing with the new toy to worry about that just yet. I know i would be!
Anyone here use Google Hangouts? My wifes Inc 4G is unusable in that the audio is about 5 seconds delayed, barely audible, and sounds like a robot voice, much like the Droid voice actually. I can hear her fine on my Rezound, and the video is just fine on her phone, it's just the audio that is all borked up. Has anyone experienced similar issues with their Dinc? Or would someone maybe be willing to test theirs real quick to see if they have the same issue? This is happening on both 4G and wifi for what it's worth, and happens when I start/join a hangout from both my phone and my laptop, so the issue is not dependent on the device I'm using, just the Inc itself.

I realize that this is a late response but I just came into possession of a Incredible 4G and am having identical issues with the audio during a hangout. Considering my connection is over 20 mbps down and 15mbps up on 4G, I know it's not a bandwidth issue.
Were you ever able to find a solution to this?

i have the same prob sometimes i have audio sometimes i dont and i went from jellybam to stock and back to jellybam and still the problem is still there please help me
I know it's gonna sound weird but it might be your charging port.....now bear with me as I explain because Gf had same issue and now it's gone....in order to test to see if it IS the port do this...
Remove the upper rear panel to expose the dark clear panel underneath
Remove the dark plastic panel if at all possible to get to the usb port.
Now if you have an intermittent audio issue like my Gf did, call your phone and have it start ringing, now push down on the metal usb port. If it's the usb port shorting out etc, it should stop playing audio and it'll make a little static noise.
The way I fixed my Gf phone was to bend the port ever so slightly...be careful because it IS fragile...and it's bent away just enough to prevent any more audio cutting out and such...
I know it might be confusing to some...but hopefully it's clear enough for the more handy users and explains what might causing the audio issue...I just happened to used to repair phones and have the tools and assembly/disassembly knowledge...good luck and let me know if this helps anyone...
