Sprint Firmware Update Pop-up - Motorola Photon 4G

So im rooted and still on the 5 update and my phone keeps begging me to "install now or install later" for the latest 7 update. What do i need to freeze to stop that or is it going to bug the **** out of me forever. Im way too lazy, i dnt wanna accept it and re-root, then have to re-do the webtop over hdmi hack all over......
Any suggestions?

There's an certs.xml file you can rename but I don't have a clue where it is...

I seen a thread a couple of days ago.The guy said he changed the build version to the latest ota in build.prop. Booted into cwm and cleared cashe. I tried it worked for me. I just changed it from 154 to 198 worked like a charm.

Use root explorer to edit /system/build.prop
Edit the line ro.build.version.full
Change the blur version from 45.2.5 to 45.2.7
Reboot to cwm and clear cache.
Reboot and you are done.

Yea i know i downloaded it already but i dunno how to install it.. do i have to go to recovery mode and do something? They haven't posted instructions yet.
Im checking it out right now..the way it has worked on other phones i have had is that you rename it to update.zip and load it in stock recovery
I think you would just flash it like an ordinary rom using the recovery but not sure
Edit: apparently you need to rename it update.zip and flash it in stock recovery
Sent from my DROID X2 using XDA App
yep that didnt work..im guessing you have to be rooted and do it through the custom recovery. either that or i missed something
edit: ooops guess you shouldnt name it update.zip.zip lol guess i should have gotten some sleep before attempting this

[MOD] Notification toggles

Title says it all but a picture says so much more
this is a port of a port that from where i found it says Credit goes to Elitemovil for originally making it.
I just took the job of making it work on the Photon.
This was made to work with Yays 4.5.1A-1_SUN-198_7 Deodexed SBF
To use on a stock phone
Flash in CWM or Bootstrap
Use Root explorer and rename the systemui.odex file to systemui.odex.bak (it's in the System/app folder) then reboot.
ty iaccax and mr_wrong_0 for finding that out.
Make sure to wipe Dalvik Cache
Will be along first boot

i dont know if it will work or not maybe someone else does or you can make a backup first and try. No luck then just restore it.

when installing the deodexed stock say writing 1.3 kernel,is it the 1.3 kernel or stock? just the roko install script?
the file size is so small was wondering if it has webtop? or if since i installed lokis webtop it will have webtop once i install it?
the issue im having is no data service tried several of the usual methods to get it working but cant seem to get it to grab a signal. the weird thing is in seetings menu says i am connected to sprint but i have no 3g icon and no web page or data service loads.. idk if is just on my end or what but wanted to bring it to light in hopes maybe you knew a way to get it working..... btw
thanks for this once i can get it fully working will use it as a base for my roms from now on was looking for a completely stock deodexed rom for my base hoping i found it... i know there is a thread with the system and framework from stock deodexed but couldnt get it to boot so... as for me happy to see this up

And like I used safeboot to come over from stock, couldn't I just do the whole disable safe mode thing instead of reverting back to stock and ota updating? Or do I do it another way? And if so do I delete safeboot? Idk I'm just scared I'm gonna screw something up hahah (

Oo ya I know I'm trying to flash the new ics leak on the razr but there's a special way to do it you don't flash it the traditional way you have to sideload the ROM in a less traditional matter which is probably the scariest part of it all to me I suppose. I mean I really truly want this ics ROM, but at the same time I would hate to put my phone in danger seeing as how I bricked my other razr not even 2 months ago. I must be traumatized... Hahaha :{

You really need to search and find the information so you can understand what to do if you get in trouble somewhere. You want to put the leaked official ICS on your phone, that is what I am understanding? If you do, this is what you need to do.
http://www.droidrzr.com/index.php/topic/1635-successfully-sideloaded-the-ics-leak/
There are two different sites that you will need to get links from. Read this thread and everything about it if you want the official/unofficial leak for ICS.

Do as the thread says to do. It can't be any easier than that. If you don't understand the process, don't do it. Why do you keep asking questions when it is completely laid out? I understand you might be a little nervous but the process is easy. I recommend updating the driver just in case as I had issues using the utility until I did. Hope this helps and I am sure if you have fully read that thread, you will be fine.
Ok :s and my drive are up to date just did updates about a week ago. One more question though, do I need any specific files in order to use the utility to get back to .744?
See my questions are becoming more intellectual! Hahahah

Agreed that all the info is in the thread, but here :
Based on the fact that you said you were on Eclipse 1.3 prior.
-Backup SMS messages to SD card, backup all apps and data with Titanium Backup, make sure to copy the directory to your SD card (to be safe).
-Fastboot back to .173, root, install voodoo rootkeeper, DO NOT install either safestrap or bootstrap with the Batman utility.
-make sure you update superuser in the market before you save with voodoo (to 3.0.3.2 or something like that)
-restore apps from TB and SMS from backup (the ICS update doesn't wipe data, so however you have your screens setup is the way they will be in ICS)
-save root
-copy ICS files (both .zip and .crc) to /cache directory
-install Rom Manager, but don't setup saying you have CWM installed, just install the .apk
-(here is where my option differs from original article) Using Root Explorer, nav to /cache dir, long press on .zip file. Now RE gives you some options, choose open with, then under general options select Open with default
-this will open ROM Manager, asking if you want to reboot into recovery.... Yes
-once it goes into 3e recovery press both vol buttons to see status.
-enjoy ICS
I followed these instructions (the original OP):
http://www.droidrzr.com/index.php/topic/1635-successfully-sideloaded-the-ics-leak/
I didn't roll all the way back to 744, and it worked fine. Just make sure you're on stock 173 (aforementioned Bat Man utility (aka: Matts tool).

Don't call an app junk just because it does not fully work on a particular phone. It actually does work for most things.
The recoveries that u mentioned are just modified versions of the recovery built into Rom Manager.
But of course u knew that!
Try the photon torpedo direct method it will tell you if your rooted and also can apply a proper root if your root install went bad.
