Howmuch should I sell my vibrant with 2nd version ffc mod ? I saw some reviews of the upcoming lg optimus 2x dual core coming next month. Edit. This is more of a thread to find out what price I should sell it at. Not really selling atm.

what is the ffc mod? I would be interested in buying phone
Its a front facing camera that I installed. Its the i9000 version so no banding issues. You can use it with fring and other video chat apps.

Are you ready to sell yet?
Is that version 1 or 2 of the FFC module?

Just a note to the OP. If you do decide to sell your handset here, please do so on the Marketplace.
Posibly?
Are you selling boss?
at least $400 depending on the shape of the phone.

If you can get three you can get them from
http://www.globaldirectparts.com/Samsung-T-mobile-Galaxy-S-Vibrant-T959-Camera-p/smsng6085857.htm
if you want a single one you can go to
mobletechvideos.com
OR
ebay and make sure its a V0.2_ camera.
MobileTechVideos is awesome! I ordered my camera on 4/4 and received it this afternoon. Going to install it tonight...
Thanks guys appreciate it alot

I second that. I think that you can also send your phone into him (Josh) and he'll install it for you. I think it's like $75 for the camera and the labor.
MobileTechVideos is too expensive for me. Is there any other alternative?
eBay is another option - I have one for sale there now!
Ordered the V2 FFC from MobileTechVideos.com last week. Got my package in good time, when I opened the package, it was the original T959 camera, not the V2 FFC that they advertised. What is worse, the camera is used. Probably an honest mistake on their part, but I am very disappointed and annoyed non the less.
Contacted them about the "mistake", hope they check their inventory to verify that they sent out the wrong camera and get me the correct one promptly. Once I get the camera, I will post my results.
I know for a fact the V1 that you get on eBay does not work well because of the banding issue under low light. I have one sitting around if anyone want to give it a try
Running Bi-Winning V3 on my Samsung Vibrant. I am very curious if this V2 camera will actually work as touted by MobileTechVideos.com. If I ever get it...we will see....
I'm sure that dude made an honest mistake. Just email him he's pretty quick about that kind of stuff.
guys, just got this phone for my wife. i know that site has them for $45, but couldn't find any on ebay. any tips on what keywords to use? thank you!
Verizon has pulled our beloved fascinate from its line up. Its not available either new or certified like new... Whats everybody's feeling on the upcoming release on the S2. Will it be soon?

Yeah, but it'll be upgraded to Froyo "soon"
Tapatalk'd by my GB Galaxy S
Samsung has said Galaxy S 2 will come to US in August. Who knows if it is on schedule or if Verizon will drag feet again.
Leaked Verizon "roadmap" indicates a Samsung Stratosphere launching 9/8. Some think this is the Galaxy S 2, originally called Function.
According to leaks on BGR, it will launch in early September and be a monster.
dual core, great screen, latest GB build, thin, candybar style, ... and best of all... LTE.
I bought a Samsung Fascinate about 2 months ago. I guess I got played. -.-

Actually, if you read the details about that phone you'll see it runs on the 800Mhz band, so it is not for Verizon.

Even with galaxy s2 coming out, samsung already has a newer model called cellux (don't know the right spelling), which is LTE with 1.5 ghz dual core 4.3 inch s amoled. It is already confirmed in south korea
Sprint And Light Squared Partnered So Sprint Has LTE. So Those Galaxy S LTE Phones Could Be For Sprint.
So if my phone "breaks" in a few months (I have the insurance) does that mean big red might just upgrade me?

There's always a potential they might considering they're letting people get replacements with the Droid X2, Inc 2, and Charge. I'm hoping the SGSII is nothing more than an initial preview to the flagship devices that could potentially launch this fall / holiday season.
What's a few more months wait once it launches if you already have a Fascinate? Then again no working GPS is making me kind of antsy myself.
Rumor ramblings of the HTC Vigor and Nexus Prime make the SGSII quite forgettable already IMO.
I made another, here is my story.
I bought mine Oct 2nd so I was just a few days off the 30 day cut off. I went to AT&T and they said the only way I could upgrade is to return my phone today and be without a phone (or use old phone) until the 6th. I said that wasn't worth it and left. Later they called me and said they did some tweaking and will let me return and get the sky rocket on the 6th.
I can't decide if it is worth it, I will have to back up, unroot, stock rom, and then wait for root on skyrocket and wait for Zagg to make a screen protector.
All that for .3 bigger screen and a 1.5 ghz. No 4G LTE in my area.
What do you think? Is it worth it?
Personally I don't think its worth it. Even if LTE was in my area, I'd pass. I'm much happier with this screen vs. my Infuse.
Even if the exchange was an even swap, I can't say I'd do it to be perfectly honest.

If you are going to return current phone, you have to pay $30 restocking fee. The new LTE version will cost you $250 plus activation fee ($18). All in all you will have to pony up for around $100 extra for .3 inch of screen and SLOWER processor, not faster regardless of the clock speed, and LTE that you currently can't use.

Good points but the $18 would be a wash since it's an exchange.

No restocking fee for people that purchased on Amazon. Free return shipping also.
If Amazon sells the skyrocket, I can buy the skyrocket for full price and Amazon will credit the account back after they receive my SG2. Free 2 day shipping with no tax.
Just talked to them today.

The question is, why are they so willing to do some "tweaking" to trade out on this particular model? Why were they not selling the GS2 at local AT&T stores (here in california)? Maybe because they have an agenda to sell the skyrocket? I dont know, but it sure does sound suspicious.

I love how ppl speak out of their ass for something they have no clue about. Google Samsung Celox. It's not exactly unannounced product, only not for AT&T. I have seen reports from ppl who field tested this new AT&T LTE phone and confirmed the sluggishness of the 'new' processor.
Keep what you got. Unless its got Exynos 1.5, only way its worth it for you...

It's tempting for me cause I'm in an LTE market, but hspa+ speeds are generally good enough for everything I do mobile. The bigger screen will make it a little harder in one hand (I had the bigger sprint version of the GSII for a couple weeks), I think our screen is about the perfect size for a phone
it's snapdragon.
it's the first LTE phone from AT&T, and they want the LTE speeds with that large screen to last through the day. snapdragon is a weaker processor that takes up less battery. so therefore, there you go.
my SGS2 is oc'd to 1.6ghz, and it flies through anything you throw at it. so if you have one, keep it. lol
i work there, so yeah.

There is nothing about the 1.5 GHz Snapdragon that's unannounced. Yes, right now, it hasn't been officially announced that the 1.5 GHz is a Snappy - but the evidence all points that way. There are no 1.5 GHz Exynos chips, and Samsung reserves the Exynos for flagship devices like the I9100 and Galaxy Note - we should consider ourselves lucky the I777 got one. Everything about the Skyrocket looks identical to the T989 except for the LTE radio.
So far, across the world, Galaxy S II devices have had either:
1) A 1.2 GHz Exynos
2) A 1.0 GHz Tegra2 (in foreign "niche" markets) - actually these have been rumored but I am not sure if I have ever seen one
3) A 1.5 GHz Snapdragon (in "niche" markets like T-Mobile and also apparently AT&T LTE).
The chances of it being a 1.5 GHz Exynos are slim to none. The chances of it being a 1.5 GHz OMAP4 are slightly higher - but not a single report points this way, and the T989 points away from this too. All the evidence says that 1.5 GHz dual-core A9 on a Samsung = Qualcomm APQ8060.
I agree with most people here. ASSUMING it's a snapdragon ( I don't know) the exynos runs circles around it. Look at the reviews between the tmobile sg2 and its siblings.
Touch wiz is not fully optimized for snapdragon. Something tells me samsung hasn't put to much effort on it.
LTE while awesome. Is a potential battery drainer if any experiences from phones on verizon hold true still. Honestly I love hspa+. its speeds are decent enough. Its a phone people... not a computer. Its a good balance of speed and battery consumption..
If indeed it turns out to be something other than a snapdragon then I suppose that would change the game a bit but I dont see paying 80 dollars extra when lte is only in like 5 markets. I'd hold off for two years and then get a better LTE phone when the LTE footprint will (hopefully) be mature(d)
Just my two cents..
why is every one getting so defensive? Let the phone come out. Everyone has different choices, you like gs2 good, very good. Someone else might prefer rocket. I returned mine gs2, I'll get HTC vivid and keep my eyes open for rocket in our forums. I think this was the best choice because, if anything, I'll have 30 days to get back to gs2.
And since I do business from best buy there is no restocking fee or any charge.
Coming from atrix, screen resolution and root matters to me so I've made my decision.
