I am in hunt of an app that toggles/refresh (ON/OFF) the apn according to the traffic flow
I have Unlimited 3G Connection atm and everytime i put it in Download it just lost its connection for some reason and i have to just refresh the APN in order to "RE-CONNECT the same"
is there any application which can provide me this feature to auto-refresh the APN according to the data flow
i badly searched for it but unable to find a single solution hence posting here.

Hey guys.I am searching of an app that is monitoring daya traffic for each apn.For example in Romania i have a plan on Cosmote with 250 mb ESPECIALLY for online games and other stuff. So i need to change the APN every time i want to play something online .So i have two different APN's. One is named webnwalk and one Broadband data 3G.I want to monitor the traffic for the apn Broadband data 3g.For the other one i have unlimited data, but with certains ports closed.Thx in advance.

I'm new in this Atrix section. I had a Desire on which I could enable/disable data during roaming with a simple checkbox in the settings menu.
I can't find this option in my Atrix's settings. This is quiet annoying since I've a french provider and work in Luxembourg. I need from times to times to enable the data connection, but can't find how to...
Can someone help ?
The options for this is under Settings>Data Manager>Data Delivery.

Hi all, i've been having this problem with my Sony Ericson xperia Play.
My bills came in as a hefty $$ bomb. I do not have data plan, so all internet activities are charged at GPRS connection rate. I've had my mobile network switched off, so there's no possibility that applications would still connect to data? Or there is? i only use my phone for smsing and dealing calls.
I called my service provider up, and they told me that my phone's internet activity is active and running. have you guys ever encountered such problem? Could anyone please enlighten me?

Usually there arent any problems like this for android. And just to
make sure, the box u checked off was in Settings>Wireless & Networks>
Mobile Networks>Data enabled right?
Normally once you get a phone, the data will automatically on. So normally I will boot up without sim at first, then switch off data.
(I've unlimited plan btw)

Hmm normally on as in, everytime you switched it on. The data runs automatically even when i unticked Data Enabled??

You could always use an app that will not allow any apps to access the network. ie a firewall like (droid wall for rooted users). That would eliminate your problem. There are many apps out there which need permission to access the network, including the stock email, google maps, the market, and etc.
I'm of the same mind as the previous posters. But if you see data being used ie. the 3G symbol or whatever your data symbol is and it lights up or is present when the check mark on mobile data is off then it's not actually off. In other words if you don't see only the cell singal bars you could be using data. Hope that helps.
Edit: Also you said "SMSing" would that also include pictures or video in your defn of that? If so those are data. At least in the U.S. they are.
There is a program called APNdraoid or sg like that. this program modifies the apn settings and dont allow your phone to connect to mobile internet. btw you can manually change the apn settings from Settings->Wireless&Networks-> Mobile Networks->Access Point Names. all you have to do is to modify the settings (add some text to the end of the apn row)

To avoid data charges (and seems that you don't have a data plan), I would suggest delete all your APN settings under Access Point Name in Mobile network settings.
If the problem still occurs, you can call your operator to disable internet access from your mobile account.

Thanks for the suggestions ! i'd just go ahead and change the apn ! But i still can't find the root to the problem. It's like paying for something i had never used at all ..
Btw, I am curious that if you tried to load a webpage in your browser when mobile network is unticked? If you did, does it load?
Hey guys I have problem with Vodafone(India, Bangalore) network that internet connection works for sometime like it works and then it only uploads and data doesn't get downloaded at all I get and send late replies in Google talk sometimes xda app says failed to connect and data is enabled and data is only uploaded changed many roms and I have called the customer care of Vodafone they said that might be apn problem but I can't save the apn and then I managed to get apn from internet via tweaker app every time I have to on and off aeroplane mode in order to make internet work so Indian Vodafone do u have this problem too especially from Bangalore!! Can u post the apn settings plz!! Am going crazy!!I don't want to call customer care they will just say some or the other thing!!

I have Tata Docomo and i too had this same kind of problem earlier(almost a year ago). The Edge symbol would only show upload and nothing would work.
In Tata Docomo we have two internet setting:
1.Tata Docomo Internet(default and to connect internet in computer)
2 Dive-in(for wap i think)
The temporary workaround for me was to use Dive-in instead of Tata Docomo Internet whenever that problem occured(mostly at midnight). Using this setting only the stock browser would work and nothing else.
So, you could try Vodafone Live(i think that's what its called) settings and at least your stock browser may work. Though check your balance after using.

Ok guys but I didn't notice this problem while using airtel I was using my friends SIM I was astonished it was awesome!! Both speed and connection!! And I am facing this issue recently not before!! And I can't change the SIM cuz I want the same number! Gonna try porting my number!!!

@ayazm.i also have the same problem in vodafone but in only 2g 3g works fine.

If you are on 2G plan, make sure you check the 2G toggle only. I have seen this error on many of my friends phone, who are using 2G plan but the network settings are 2G/3G both. Vodafone doesnt like this, and that's why they throttle your network connection.
Hello XDA community,
I'm looking for an app or xposed module that's showing me the current mobile data network type (2G, 3G, 4G) as a dynamic quick settings tile.
I found two apps who do this specific tasks as notification but that's aesthetically unpleasant.
I'm using a Motorola Moto Z EU variant with the stock 7.1.1 software.
My mobile data toggle shows the network type once mobile data is activated but I would like to know it even when it's off.
I tried several quick tile/toggle apps from the play store but didn't find one that does this.
I also tried Automate but due to my limited knowledge of the advanced functions of this app I didn't manage this task. The only thing I managed was to get the output of the network type query as number in the label of the tile but I can't do much with numbers.
Could somebody tell me how to manage this?
