Hi,
I am searching for a way to be able to write thai on my p7500. The funny thing is that it is possible to select thai in the input & languages section under settings. But when your want to change the keyboard to thai..........the option is not there.....but many other languages...? Any good ideas welcome......

Hello everyone! I upgraded to ICS today, and noticed that the notification to chose a keyboard keeps popping up. It also says that Google Voice is chosen when I've disabled it. Can anyone help me with this? I really appreciate it!

Hi,
After the ics update you will have to press the imput method to change the keyboards you want to use. That's normal ;-)

Thank you for replying! I chose the Android keyboard, and the prompt to choose a keyboard still pops up. I tried restarting and rebooting my phone and nothing is making this notification go away. As you can see in the pic I attached, the only option it will check off when I touch it is Google Voice. It's making me nuts.

It's always there.
So the notification to choose a keyboard will always pop up when I go to type?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using xda app-developers app
We all have that same screen with google voice so don't drive yourself to nuts over that. Its the default keyboard that needs to be set which it looks like you did so I'm not sure why it keeps prompting you to choose.
Edit: I notice you have google voice unchecked. Recheck it, set default keyboard to whatever you want and report back

Okay, I did what you suggested and have included screen caps. For some reason the notification to choose the keyboard isn't going away. I can ignore it if it's not a fixable problem, I'm just a little OCD about my notifications being cleared.

Reflash the ROM bud
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using xda premium
Can you please tell me how to do that?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using xda app-developers app
It will always be up there with a keyboard open.
Cm9 has an option to turn off that notification, otherwise it'll be there.
If you wanna reflash...Just do exactly what you did in the first place...
I don't think he flashed a ROM before if he got the ota . There is a tutorial stickied in the general page as to going about flashing and rooting

Has the Samsung Keyboard on the Note II been upgraded with slide texting. I recently saw a demo video and it appeared to have it.
If so, would someone please post the APK. I would greatly appreciate it. Thanx in advanced.

It's available on older firmwares but it's disabled by default. You can enable it in the keyboard settings.

I see a setting that says "keyboard sweeping" but it doesn't seem to activate anything. When I slide my finger across the keyboard as if I'm Swype texting, nothing happens.

It's called continuous input

If you aren't hooked on swype, you might want to try some of the aftermarket keyboards...they do some amazing things (and some do have swype or something similar included). Especially if you are used to the iOS keyboard...its probably one of the biggest day to day functional improvements on Android. Smart Keyboard Pro, Thumb Keyboard and Kii are all awesome.
@kintwofan i have that off and my swype keyboard still has the predictive txt and i downloaded kii is ok ill do for now

My friend that's because I'm an idiot. First some reason I thought the picture was the Samsung keyboard. That setting has no affect on the swype keyboard

Uninstall swype!
Seriously not if there is a bug with it. Have to wait until they fix it.

I would download the jellybean keyboard. I like it better anyway and also has a swipe feature

What's wrong with the stock keyboard? I just swiped this from it

It sounds like the complaint is the suggestion bar because you can't turn it off. But it is less annoying if you turn off auto correction and next word prediction.
But there are many good keyboards. No one should feel stuck with a keyboard they don't like.

Thats not the stock keyboard. Thats swype. This is the stock keyboard:
If youre rooted, I can give you the stock kb with the auto correct turned off and ability to remove predictive text as seen above, in a flashable zip file. I cant help you with swype, I think stock is far superior though. Ive used 4.2 keyboard, swiftkey etc. I came back to stock

Just cause your not used too it doesn't mean it sucks. You have to remember coming from an iPhone you are going from a windows 3 computer to windows 8.
Lotta capabilities you will need to get used too.
