slow charging - XPERIA X10 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

from a few days, i am experiencing slow charging, it only charges 10-12% battery in an hour,
is this a battery issue?
i am using the AC charger as well as through USB to laptop...
but still same results

Calibrate ur battery, or wipe battery stats.
Sent from my X10i using XDA App

but callibration has only effect on showing correct battery stats not the charging speed? is it?

I had a problem before with the battery charging slow too. What I noticed with cpu spy was that it was staying at 998mhz while charging. So I added a profile in setcpu to make the phone run at a low max speed when the screens off and it solved my problem.
Try cpu spy to see if yours is doing the same. Plug it in, open set cpu, reset timers, and turn off the screen. Give it five minutes then refresh and check the results.

i have been having the same problem for the last few day
i have noticed that my problem started since updating to v6 from this thread

No its not an issue it is obvious that if u run heavy games, battery consumption will be more and temp will automatically increase.
This is happening to me also, and it's not just a heavy load issue. I don't have this problem with stock rom. I also use FreeX10 beta4. I monitored cpu usage and there didn't seem anything unusual, however monitoring the mv of the battery is noticed it will sometimes be around 4153mv while othertimes 31200mv not sure what's causing the higher mv's though

[q] battery charge stuck at 100%

After my phone charges to 100% it gets stuck at 100% and wont drain until I take it off the charger. I use spareparts to see voltage levels and it says its fully charged at 4.2 volts. After I take it off charge, battery drains rapidly to what I assume is the correct battery %. I was under the impression that battery levels go down to 96% then recharge back to 100% while pluggd in. I noticed these affects after several voltage lockups. I have tried wiping battery stats and multiple calibrationa but no cigar. Why is it that spareparts and other third party battery apps report full voltage and charge when it actually isnt while it is plugged into the wall. anyone deal with these issues?

mine stays at 100 for a while too.. But if you leave it for a long time it will say full.. Or at least it does on evil fascination.. Its probably bad battery stats.. Charge till full.. Power down.. Charge till full in power down state.. Unplug , plug back in.. Wait till full again.. then wipe battery stats in cwm.. Then use till it dies and recharge...

[Q] Battery drops from 40% to 0% Instantly

Hi there.
this morning (12 o'clock) i wanted to use my phone and only red LED's light up when i pressed Power button! I'm pretty sure i had more than 40% Battery left when i went to bed at 01 AM.
Plugged in my phone and started it. Surprising thing was Battery at 1% and when i looked at battery stats it droped from ca 40% to 0% in an instant!
Might be time for Battery Calibration ?
okay...... just had the same problem again!
was undervolting the phone.... 750mv for 128mhz, and it crashed! had 80% Battery before. and 1% after crash, and slowly went upwards till 6%, then i rebooted.

Dear, the problem is that u must have installed a new ROM or an update without wiping your battery stats. That means ur battery infact is not showing the correct %. Infact I guess now its completely out of charge. Just reboot into recovery, wipe battery stats and then dont reboot the phone. Just take off ur battery.
Now plug in ur charger and put the battery in.
This will take the phone into offline charging. See the grey big battery icon. How much its showing ?
Offline charging actually will show u the real battery %
Charge it offline for like 20 to 30 mins and now switch on your phone.
It should be ok.
Let me know if its fixed.
Good luck

Also... I guess there is no need to undervolt your phone for good battery back up.
If you are using Wolf 4.04 with the stock kernel, it itself will give you over a day battery...
just what I'm doing now...
Try calibrate it first mate

Having similar problem here.
More details:
- drops from ~40% to ~5%
- phone shuts down and after boot, battery is back at ~40%.
- it happens only when the phone is in deepsleep, if it crosses 40% when CPU is active, it's fine, but after around 6-10 hrs in DS it drops to <5% and shuts down
- after "instant drop shutdown", battery life decreases (discharging around 25% faster), also fast drop from 100% to ~90%, when it gets below 90% the drain is "back on track"
Phone specs:
> X10i UK
> Bootloader unlocked
> ROM(s): same issue on ZMOD v3, VMOD v5/v6, FXP046, testing on Wolf's Stock Mod,
> Kernel(s): DoomLord's v1.3 FS/v1.4 FS, FXP Kernel,
> Original SE Battery,
> Phone bought at end of June 2010,
> It's hard to tell when it first happened, but it was happening once per month or so (I thought it's ROM fault back then), not every time like it's happening now
> I've tried Battery Calibration app from the Market, wiping battery stats in xRec, no luck
Same here!

Had the same problem and it was the battery dying replace the battery with an exact same battery no higher or less mAh rating same mAh rating and follow instructions that come with new battery carefully then carry out battery calibration manually with wiping stats yourself and fully charging and discharging a few times to get proper battery life. I did all this and now I'm back to how it was when I first bought phone but my case was worse as mine would drop from 86% to 0% soon as it hit 86% that was it could use phone so get a new battery there cheap enough

[Q] Problem with battery

Hello,
So my problem is that the battery is charging & discharging very fast. Charging takes about 1.5 hour from ~0% to 100%, so 1%=1min. It isn't normal, I've had this problems some times. For the last time I'm charging it every time I can, so I don't care if the battery is low. You think this is the reason. I've already did the calibration but didn't help. For now my only idea is to charge it only when the battery is almost empty. Did You had such a problem already? How did You solve it?
PS. Happens on every ROM now
I had that exact problem with my g/f's x10i. Normally it was because of an app that was misbehaving and I'd just uninstall it. Just check ur battery info and see what the culprit is. Ideally you should have like screen as top process, cell standby and phone idle most likely following (in general that is). I still hav some problems from time to time but worst case the battery gives me a full day. You can also wipe battery stats in recovery and try the "manual recalibration" that is letting it un completely down (not even vibrating when you try to power on) and then charge to full, then repeat. Did wonders for me on the x10i and my xperia play. Really hope this helps man, I know how frustrating it can be.
Hit thanks if I helped!!
Just read that it happens on every rom. Battery may be bad but still try the battery wipe from xrec and charge with it off. Calibration never hurts. GL
Jakuburban, have you checked if there is not any software causing memory or CPU huge consumption present? Remember we have solved it in your another thread... but to ensure for it
Also, there might be two another problems:
1.) battery lost its capacity rapidly (might cause after e.g. 2 years of huge usage)
2.) hardware issue - there might be present "parasitive resistance" somewhere on the battery pads or on PCB traces. Which can drain battery everytime.
No, none of the programs is battery unfriendly. It's not gettong hot and the screen usage is on the top as You say.
@HeliumX10 I remember that problem but it's different now. CPU usage is allright. It's just charging and discharging to fast. E.G. my brothers SGS2 is charging about 4 hours to full and he can use it all day long. My battery is charging in less than 2 hours and I can only use it for 1/2 of a day. It's like it is charging only half of the battery ( capacity) and it shows that it is full.

I ended up buying 2 extra batteries and an external charger off of Amazon for $12. I never plug it in.

Untrained battery?

I have a rooted Samsung Vibrant that I bought used. It is running cm7 and is currently overclocked to 1.3ghz with no problems. However, the battery has recently been acting strange. It drains very quickly, even if I clock back to 1ghz, and then jumps to around 40% if I boot while charging. It does not seem to be false percentage, and it will last at least an hour after totally draining and charging for ~1 min. I have looked for a procedure to "train" my battery to show the proper percentage, but I have found contradicting procedures everywhere. I am planning on discharging, fully charging while off, and using cwm to wipe battery data from my phone, but it would be nice to have one of the geniuses at xda confirm this.
Have you calibrated it? Check the Play Store for an app called BatteryCalibration.
Charge phone to 100%, the app will ding to notify you when it happens, and press Calibrate.. it wipes the phones batt stats, thus removing any incorrect information.
^ just in case you haven't done so already.
You are doing it right. But it wont give you more backup.
Low backup can be because of many reasons. Overclocking.. second your phone isnt going into
deep sleep.
Download advance battery stats and CPU spy to check which aap keeps your phone
partially awake!!
