Access windows shared folders in android

Hi all...
I've been searching for an app or a way to be able to access the shared folders of my desktop PC in my android mobile (Huawei U8650 not rooted) and my tablet (Acer A100 also not rooted).
I want to be able to watch my movies in the shared folders or read my ebooks like I do from my laptop. The PC is connected with a wifi rooter as all the rest devices. Since the laptops can access the shared files, I guess my android devices should also be able to do it... but how...?
Does anybody know a way... a simple and 'stable' way...
cant believe none has posted a reply for you yet, but anyway download ES File Explorer
you can use this ref to setup
http://www.guidingtech.com/10885/access-shared-windows-folders-android-wifi/
It does the job but is slow. I've tried download music/movies over from shared folder and it takes ages - and sometimes just stalls in the middle and you can do nothing about it.
while sometimes it can do a good job. bit of a hit and a miss really, for large files - definitely a miss.
Thanx for the reply...
I got it..

I use this and it does have issues but for me, they are to do with using multiple files (moving, deleting, etc). For movies and music, it works just fine.
Although I use UPNPlay for music.

[Q] [Request] A desktop to device sharing app

Howdy all.
I'm looking for an app which may not even exist. What I'd like, is to be able to right click a link on my desktop, and be given a choice of "Send to xxx android device." My phone or tablet would then automatically open the link or download the file, without my interaction. A bit similar to the way the browser based market works, but for any site. Ideally, it would also work the other way around, and from device to device. Anybody aware of an app, or a tasker/sl4a method, to do such a thing?

How to save torrent downloads in a Samba Shared Drive?

Hello XDA people.
It is the first time I post here, is because I have a problem. I own a tablet with android and i want to use it to download some files with a torrent application. But there is the problem, Is any way to set the download path to a Drive in my network?, something like smb://192.168.1.99/Downloads/
I test a few torrent programs, but i didn't find what i'm looking for.
My idea is use this table like a media center and a torrent/download client, but if a canĀ“t save the downloads to an external drive in my Samba network is useless to that.
Thanks in advance, and sorry for my english, is not my mother language.

Proud to provide shield tv owners with my guide to ouya anywhere without needing root

https://http://youtu.be/zcFfDTOZSUs
I figured this out,you will not require a rooted nvidia shield android tv,the controller for your shield works as a native ouya controller for this as well so no messing with setup, just install and launch the required apks and bang you have a shield android tv running ouya anywhere guys . :good:
I am a modder,I only use previously made tools. So thanks to everyone who contributed the apks needed for this mod
link to files?
Dead link & no link to files
Hello friend,
But the link doesn't work.
Easy enough to work out the link;
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zcFfDTOZSUs&feature=youtu.be
It's a bit clunky in the video tutorial department, but as stated it is easy to work out from within the video the site I go to is shown just look up the title name of the site to get there in google search, thanks for pointing out that it's in the video. If your having issues in an android based web browser if that's the way your trying to download, then sometimes links and certain website areas you click don't open unless you switch your browser to desktop mode or desktop view in the browsers settings the site is called s-config so type in google s-config ouya everywhere aps this should point you to the page with the link in google search, that's the easiest way to explain it in order to download, but make sure the browser is in desktop mode or desktop view mode from the settings inside your browser application.Use a file manager like es file explorer to extract the downloaded zip file containing the apks, run them all and then reboot the shield tv,then go to settings/apps and open ouya launcher setup your account as the video shows with a real credit card or test credit card if you don't wish to use a real one.

Archos 101 G8 - browsing is broken

Hi,
I've just taken a 101-G8 out of its box after about 10 years. I was pleased to find it was still in working conditions, was able to connect it to the wifi, use the installed apps, but trouble started when I tried to browse (using the pre-installed Dolphin browser). Almost all sites give me the 'Web page not available' message. After some trials I found that accessing http version instead of https would work, if the site didn't force a redirect. So I suspect a certificate issue, but I have no clue how to update them. Then I found out that the AppsLib and Market apps are no longer supported, so I can't update or install new apps.
After reading the forums, I know I could try to upgrade Android to something like 4.0 (via Cyanogen), but I'm not even sure this would fix my browsing issues, which is all I need right now (I'd like to use it for my kids to access the doodlelearning.com website). Any advice for me?
Thanks!
