[Q] Available Roms (KH3) Which is the best fitting? - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hiho,
I just had Lightning v6.1 for about a month or something but this seems to be dead and nothing goes on there.
So
What are the best ROMs right now for battery use?
I ve seen so much different out there right now but what are your opinions?
I just care about best performance and battery usage. Dont need any styles or something. (gonna take rixsta's themes so it changes anyway)
would love to learn more from u
greetz

hehe i wanne ask the same question so i post it here
the fastest and most stable rom battery is priority one...
iam on lightning 6.1 too and its dead.
maybe i can change without a full wipe?
which one ist the best one? i found a list with all roms but there is nothing i can compare with...
thx

JJE does have a good point. In the Forum you should of searched and loads of threads to the answer regarding the question you are asking.
But anyway i recommend to try Villain Rom the new version KI3 which is based 2.3.5 or BatistaROm that i am using

[Q] Most Stable, most compatible, most feature filled ROM? <ABRUPTLY TERMINATED>
Hey guys,
I have a very quick question, I want to know a ROM that is most stable, that has a lot of tweaks within a tweak manager, cool effects and keeps ALL the Galaxy S II functions (Camera).
I've tried CM7.1, I guess it's a great ROM to replace old device's ROM, but there are many functions removed from the stock Samsung ROM (Task Manager when hold home) and the Camera app (most important for me).
I'm just looking for the most stable (least or no bugs), cool tweaks (CRT/Overglow effect/Overclocking) and one that keeps Camera app to the stock one.
Lastly, if I were to flash a custom ROM, would I be able to flash back my speedmod kernel?
Thanks all
Nicholas
p.s. I would also be very happy if it came with CWM5
Its called SEARCH rom as question has been asked a million times and if you need to ask then you are not capable of using it .

Pity is that its wasting space and time bit like the OP .
My view is that if they ask that same question then they are incapable of flashing stuff and end up with a bricked phone .

Sorry, I know MANY ROMS out there, but I want to know by first hand experience about everyone's thoughts about many of the new ROMs and the most stable ones that recently came out. I just want people's opinions, and not a written guarantee on a forum post. I'm very sorry if I caused so much of a nuisance.
If you want people opinions, why dont you spend time reading through the threads of those particular roms, they will give you all the feedback you need....

As I clearly stated before, I have flashed CM7.1 and have not bricked. I don't think I'm incapable of flashing, as I flashed many phones recently, and I made many USB jigs for my phone and my friend's phone, I'm not that kind of Android newbie as you think I am, I used MANY Android secondary phones in the past since Android 1.6, and I flashed many different kinds of ROMs on many other devices ever since.
This thread is only asking for NEW opinions on the latest ROMs for the Galaxy S II, I want to know through experience if you like it or not, if it's good to use and if it still retains complete factory functionality.
Amazing.......I actually would of thought people who actually value their time, would just write one word like "VillainROM" or "CM" or "Cognition" and then make it to be 10 chars in total.
Thanks, what amazing people here.
What makes this thread different from the other 10 on this forum that are asking exactly the same question?

Anyways, since this is on the first page, any new guys to custom ROMs, this is the HUGE list, heard from Darkside and JJE from dozens and dozens of posts that it really depends on your taste of ROMs so there really isn't a "best" ROM, this is the HUGE list of ROMs:

I'm pissed just like him when I see the same carbon copied thread: "hello guys, because i am a very important person, i deserve special treatment and I want you all to find me the best rom, which fulfills the following requirements: x,y,z."
Come on... there's the forum, there are 100 similar threads open, read the descriptions, do something.
Well, it is a very generic and most commonly asked question as I checked around the forum, it would be best if a ROM list was stickied, so these types of questions would be eliminated.

As opposed to actually opening dev section and reading what each custom rom does .
If you are to lazy to do that then you are flashing a rom with no understanding of what you are doing or why that = bricked phone newbies cries help post .
jje
True that JJE, I would hate when that happens - when people don't know what they're doing, brick their phones, and then start a new thread asking for help. I understand.
I took four whole days looking at this forum, through almost 200 threads thoroughly, but most people I presume want to do it immediately and want to know the best ROMs at that very moment.
But anyways, the thread I linked was stickied and was very helpful.
Thread Terminated guys.

I'm a semi noob who has flashed a few ROMs and have read through alot of the threads in the developers forum trying to find the 'perfect' ROM for me. I'm currently running VillainRom 3.0. It works fine. However, I understand what the creator of the thread is looking for. I would also like to know what other people think is a great ROM and a brief explanation of why they like it. All the ROM threads in the development forum are full of people asking why this or that doesn't work or how do I fix this? I find it hard to find a reason to use any particular ROM from the information in those threads. To cut a long story short, why don't the elitist ROM wankers keep their comments out of these 'Best ROM' threads, even if it's been asked before, and let people who want to share information do so.
Oh yeah so VillainROM 2.5 and 3.0 are good ROMs. They've worked fine for me, and from what I've read of other ROMs I haven't been convinced to change yet.

[Request] Mod Power button/Camera button

Hi all,
I've been looking around here and there for something like this for the past few months and still haven't found anything relevant about it.
The idea would be to use the power button as the camera button while the native camera app is launched to take snapshots on Jelly Bean official but rooted stock firmware.
Found a thread but sadly has been discontinued for some reason, here's the link :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1787709&nocache=1
So Anyways, was just wondering if a kind soul would either know how to code this or figure out if there's anything out there remotely close to what I'm asking for. Also, note that the "button switcher" app doesn't seem to work for that purpose, already gave it a go...
Thanks for your time and hope u guys had a good Xmas and will have an even better NYE.
up'
anybody ? Am actually quite surprised that no one is currently looking into this.
I know the feature is available on different Roms but would be ace if one could have it on sammy's stock Rom.
Oh well, I suppose I'll just have to wait & see.

[Q] After flashing ROM screen isn't sharp enough , not [720x1280] compatible?

Hey guys
im kinda new to all flashing and ROMing the device but i noticed something very bothering.
few days ago i was trying and experiencing several roms till i found the one i liked.
since the first flash i notcied a HUGE PROBLEM.
Screen looks good but isnt sharp enough. i mean Pictures are high quality and amazing with HX MOD .
but when i compare lets say a video , "Wonders Of Nature" Which comes with the S3, STOCK RUNS IT MUCH SHARPER !
and mine *kinda* blury. its very minimal , i mean you need to look closley to watch it.
some apps also , like facebook and stuff . touchwiz icons and text looks much better on stock.
Im using the UltimaRom V9 right now .
I really need your guys help , and let me know how can i fix it?
P.S - is Xposed App Settings has got something to do with it ?
sorry for my english if some of you dont understand.
THANKS ALOT ! :good:
You would need to one ask the question in the roms thread or two stick with stock .

Do you really have xposed framework installed ? If so, you need to open the app and then click on tweak and it will show all your apps that are already has been tweaked.
If nothing found then select apps that aren't sharp enough and select resolution 1280x800 or higher then save and launch the app to see if it would makes difference.

[Q] Freezing ROM

Hi!
I'm looking for a smoother ROM than the one I'm using right now. This one is a ROM provided by T-Mobile. But it freezes up a few times a day (while browsing internet), the battery heats up most of the time and this freeze can degrade the batterycapacity by 70%.
Can anybody advice me on this?
Galaxy s2, T-Mobile NL
OS Android 4.0.4
Cheers! El Jappe
@ Mods, maybe this isn't the right forum, can you refer me to the right place then?
Root, make a backup and try custom roms until you find what your looking for. Any major custom rom is probably better then T-mobile
Thanks for that! Any particular ROM you could advice me?

OP - Try a bunch of rom out for yourself until you find one you like.

Why, thanks for the wristslapping. Always nice to get a warm welcome from experienced users, who didn't make it to the mod status themselves.
Any advices given with good intentions are deeply appreciated.

Want a loophole? ask if this could be a hardware issue and what ROM should you try.
Now, you really need advice on picking a ROM?
If the answer is yes here's my comeback:

Always nice to see people like you who are too arrogant to follow the rules and decide to make their own ones. However, they aren't quite welcome here because they are too lazy to do some research, like all of us (the fake mods, nice one, did you made that up all by yourself?) do.
If you're mad because of the plain, correct answers you have been given, maybe it's better to don't participate in this forum.
