[Q] Turninig on the Photon while in the Dock - Motorola Photon 4G

When I turn on the Photon while in the dock it will infinitely reboot. It gets to the NOW screen and then goes blank. The next thing I see it the Moto logo. The dock is not plugged into a monitor currently. I remove it from the dock and it's fine. Anyone else see this on their phone?

[Q] How do you fix random shutdown when docked on keyboard?

I have the 16 GB WiFi version for Christmas with the keyboard dock... before I rooted I would leave my tablet on the dock overnight, but it will shutdown during the night and I have to press and hold the power button to turn it on. I tried rooting it and no avail there. I tried charging it straight from the outlet, and it works perfectly fine. The only way my tablet won't shut down if I am streaming a radio station through Winamp. So is there any fixes? (Running on GALAXY TASK 11)
any answers?
So if you plug it directly into the wall outlet it doesn't turn off? On the keyboard dock it shuts off? I would guess that the GT isn't recognizing the dock as an AC charger like being plugged into the outlet does. There might be a work around such as force charging from usb. Do a search for that and set it up. Let us know if it works.
Just my guess though. If you can't find how to force usb charge let me know and I'll get the process for you. just don't know of the top of my head. It's somewhere around Pershoots kernel thread I think.

When I connect to regular wall outlet it would not shut down. If I dock the tablet to the keyboard, without the dock being connected to the wall charger, It wouldn't shut down. However if I connect my charger to the dock and I dock my tablet, my tablet would shut down by itself after a time of inactivity. So my question is how to charge it on the dock without the tablet shutting down. If you think that you think that foce usb charging maybe the fix... pleasePM me because i am extremely busy with school work
also it can still charge...its just when docked...it will turn off by it self.
I have had the same issue exactly, and even went back to the shop to exchange first the keyboard and then the Tab itself. I still had the issue. I finally decreased the number of instances this happened, but did not fully solve the issue, by going to overcome rom. I would welcome anybody with a final solution though.
I know that the ics rom works fine...but thats an obvious answer.....but i actually use the cameras
I have the same problem. The Tab seems to shut off when it reaches 100% charge in sleep mode while in the keyboard dock. If the Tab is active, doing something such as playing music in Pandora or a similar activity, the Tab does not shut down, even if the charge level shows 100%.
In another thread, someone posted that they thought that this problem could be related to 3.2 because it does not occur in ICS or 3.1. Whatever the cause, I am looking forward to finding a solution. I have stopped using the keyboard dock as a charging station due to this issue.
Bob
is it possible to find the problem on 3.2 ..and replace it with the 3.1 version...and make them do the "forbidden dance"? (noob status.. right here)
I had the issue on 3.1 as well.
I had the same problem on every 3.2 rom I tried. It didn't happen on any 3.1 builds and it hasn't happened on the cm9 preview.

Bump! Does anyone know how to really fix this? and are we going to face this problem on the official ICS?
Yes, also on ics 4.04 I have the issue. Now it is 100% repeatable.
tab on mains ---> fine
tab on keyboard (either witout power or on pc usb) ---> fine
tab on keyboard on mains ---> hangs!!
Agreed. But when the devs get the camera working on JB maybe it wont happen on JB... maybe its a touchwiz or camera problem
Samsung Tablet 10.1 Shutdown when docked using ICS
I have experienced the same issue with the Samsung Tablet 10.1 32GB WiFi only using ICS 4.0.4. when docked to the Samsung keyboard GT-P7510. The tablet will freeze randomly when docked. It does not matter if plugged into power or not. If the screen goes blank, you must hold the start button down for 20 seconds to get the system to reboot. The system is not going into sleep mode. It is turning itself off. This random shutdown issue is annoying. Has anyone determined how to fix this issue? Should a bluetooth keyboard be purchased to solve this problem?

[Q] charging causes screen to bug.

Hey Everyone,
Just noticed something awkward this morning.
My screen wasn't reacting to my input, while it was charging with the charger that was delivered with the device.
I unplug the cable and it works fine, I plug the cable into my PC and it works fine too while charging normaly. Reboot the phone, plug it back into the charger and bam, screen stops responding.
So I turn on "Touch Display" from the "developer options" menu (Translated from Dutch, so it might be a bit off) to see what's going on.
When I touch the screen, the input gets irradic and shows me all over the vertical axis of the screen.
The moment I unplug the phone from the charger, it starts working fine, plug it back in and it stops working.
Does anyone have a clue (Well the charger apperently ) what's causing this but more importantly a fix that doesn't require me to go to the store.
I'm pretty pleased with my current model and would hate to go without my phone for a few days/weeks

Charging through dock usb while screen closed?

Hello all.
I was wondering if there is a way of manually allowing this or not.
I was on a older version of the Crombi rom which seemed to allow this to work.
I have since updated to the latest and tried a few other different roms and it will only seem to charge out now it the tablet/dock is open and screen is on.
I would be fine if it would charge even if the tablet is open but screen off.
There are times where I only have the charger for the tablet and can borrow a usb cable and I became accustom to charging my phone that way.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you
thats a bit strange, as I can charge both the tablet and dock together with it shut on mine..
does the dock charge by itself?
does the tablet charge by itself?
does the tablet accept charge from dock when Tablet is plugged into dock and shut?
(easy to test this one.. check % before and after on both and compare... say after 1/2 hour and see if there is a difference...as Dock should discharge in to Tablet, then stop once tablet is full and then you should only get deep sleep lossage....)
Yeah the tablet and the dock all charge okay.
I was trying to use the usb from the dock to charge my phone while it's closed.
When I'm out I watch stuff on the tablet and charge it and go to sleep and close the tablet and dock. But when I do that, it stops charging the phone I have plugged into that usb connection on the dock.
Right..understand..
The dock is going into full shut down/tablet is going into full shut down
..which most of us want.. This will be kernel based..
As while it would be good say on a long trip to be able to use the dock as an external battery top up device for phones..I don't think the Asus docks have ever been that smart..
Only thing I can think off is that you set WiFi to always on..thus the tablet is not going to go into the deep mode for some time after shut down..
You could ask in the grimlock kernel thread on the setting in the kernel on the expected time that it is set...
Okay I'll give that a shot.
I am already using grim lock anyway

[Q] Screen won't come on, but shows full charge

Hi guys,
I haven't used my G watch for about a month. The watch screen shows nothing until I put it on the dock, and then it shows the battery symbol (which looks like a full battery.) I take it off, and nothing. Pressing/holding the reset button on the back, nothing. Does not connect to my phone either.
Anyone have any ideas on why this is happening, and how to fix it?
Thank you!

[Q] I need opinions about my tablet and problem.

I have a rooted tmobile springboard that I've had for like 2 or 3 years now.
The tablet won't turn on when I press the pier button. It turns on when I put the charger in. It stays on and works well until the charger gets pulled out then the tablet just shuts off. Is the board bad? I bought a new battery for it and it's still the same. The tablet only works when the charger is plugged in. Any advice or thoughts on my problem. If I can't fix it I'll just buy another tablet but I have grown fond to this media pad after rooting it the second I got it hehehe.
